Thanks, Dave!

Trippy version!
  6:06pm Jim Monaghan:

So glad you're doing this, Andrew. I've been thinking about you a lot since Michael's passing.
  6:06pm RF:

Sounds like this mix was kind of a transition from 2nd National Band to TTT.
  6:06pm James Garner:

Thank you Mr. Sandoval, for this year's tour. I was blessed to the the Atlanta show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06pm Steeley Chris:

I appreciate the Sunshine during this evening
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks, Jim. I put "listening" forward for Dolenz Sings Nesmith, but it didn't make the cut.

I have been so looking forward to this!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks, James - that was a great show.

Hello all.
  6:08pm uptown jen:

Thank you for this, Andrew.❤️
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:08pm Julie P.:

Andrew, I was lucky enough to attend the Orlando show, and it was a truly magical night. Thank you so much for making the tour happen.
  6:08pm dangie:

Good evening & Happy Holidays to all!
Avatar 6:08pm LizziefromKauai:

The first time I heard pedal steel used in Nez's songs I was thrilled at his innovation -- I'd only ever heard it in Hawaiian music, but Red Rhode's was incredible and it shows how brilliant a musician/songwriter Nez was to give free rein to other musicians to take his music to other places and spaces. Cosmic collaborations!
  6:09pm Richard Whig:

hola sunshyne peeples!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks, Julie - that was definitely the sweet spot in the tour - every show was pretty wonderful.
  6:09pm Melissa:

Personal favorite from Loose Salute. So amazing.
  6:09pm Mikey:

I bought And the Hits Just Keep On Comin' for myself as an I-just-got-dumped gift. Maybe not the best idea.
  6:10pm Monkeeman Kevin:

Dedicated friend was FIRE when Nez played this at Troubador!
  6:10pm She Chimp:

Hi Andrew, Listening in the cage!
  6:10pm James Garner:

Do you know if Nez was ticked off when some smart-aleck mentioned Davy while he was intro'ing "While I Cry"?
Avatar 6:10pm Bob T:

I was at the Ft Lauderdale show. So glad my 18 yr old daughter and I went. First row right in front of Mr. Nesmith. a thousand thanks to Andrew for the tour and all you have done.
  6:10pm uptown jen:

I am always changing my mind about my favorite FNB release.
  6:10pm jfmlaugh:

While I Cry from the tour...well, was a tearjerker! Thanks for adding that!
Avatar 6:11pm johnyoung1234:

@Melissa - My fave is Lady of the Valley but Dedicated Friend is bad ass also!
  6:11pm BritishInvasionBrinley:

Echoing the previous statements - I was so lucky to attend at the Atlantic City show, sitting with my best friend who got me into the Monkees. A wonderful and touching experience we'll never forget - thank you so much!!
  6:11pm RF:

Did anyone catch Nez at the Grammy Museum in Oct. 2019? Last time I saw Nez perform.
  6:11pm Monkeeman Kevin:

I tried to push Nez to sing this years ago. Hollywood
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm cometothesunshine:

Hey, She Chimp - glad you are tuned in!
  6:12pm Truly Joyful:

This show is really helping me feel like my name again! Thank you.
Avatar 6:12pm Reechie:

I remember buying a bootleg cassette of outtakes like "Hollywood" and "St.Matthew" around 1986. Years later, it seemed like the entire contents of that tape was on the "Instant Replay" box set!
  6:12pm Scottzs:

Hi Jen!
  6:13pm Melissa:

@johnyoung1234 So true. My favorite things about seeing First National Band live was hearing Dedicated Friend, Lady of the Valley and Grand Ennui together! Not in the order. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:13pm cometothesunshine:

I was blessed to see Michael many a time and even play a little music with him this year. It was wonderful he got to feel the love back from people for his music. He needed that.
Avatar 6:13pm johnyoung1234:

I live in Maryland and wanted to make sure I saw more than one show so I flew down to Orlando and saw that show. It was the weekend that Southwest had all the striking employees and I nearly missed getting there since 4 flights in a row were cancelled on me. By luck everything worked out and I saw an incredible show.
  6:14pm ajobo:

all killer no filler on this here show!
  6:14pm Paul:

So grateful to you Andrew and everyone who put together the tour. We attended the NYC show and the love between the audience and the musicians was palpable. Nez's joy on Good Clean Fun, his poignancy on While I Cry, and the connection with us all through Papa Gene's Blues was magical.
  6:14pm Brian:

Thanks for doing this, Andrew. Cool seeing you on the Greek stage last month. Perfect intro to an historic and bittersweet night. Settling in now for a groovy next few hours.
  6:14pm Melissa:

I flew from Michigan to Orlando for that show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:14pm cometothesunshine:

Reechie - I bought those same bootlegs, that's how I was so well versed when I first talked with Bill Inglot. Turned into a life's work.
Avatar 6:14pm Creature Boy:

⚡Nez wuz the nazz ⚡
  6:15pm Monkeeman Kevin:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15pm cometothesunshine:

Very nice of you to say, Paul - NYC was a special night for sure.
  6:15pm Scottzs:

ah yes, "The Linda Jones" tape
  6:15pm Mike M:

That Dedicated Friend mix was different - is it from one of the acetates floating around?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16pm cometothesunshine:

Brian - my taking the stage was at Micky's request - a last minute thing - I looked at Nez just as I walked on and thought, "I gotta do this right."
Avatar 6:16pm Minerwerks:

Hello Andrew and everyone!
  6:16pm dangie:

You did it right, Andrew.
  6:16pm Casper Fandango:

Dedicated Friend is a fantastic tune. Classic rave up.
  6:16pm Scottzs:

Hey Derek
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:17pm cometothesunshine:

Welcome, Minerwerks
  6:17pm Paul:

Yes, NYC was very special. Veronica and I had a wonderful time that night and were glad to see and chat with you too. :-)
  6:17pm Mikey:

I played Nevada Fighter when I hosted trivia night last week. Accidentally had the outdoor speakers on. My special gift to anyone trying to go to bed early in Sherman Oaks.
Avatar 6:17pm WLSClark:

Andrew, great to have this show on while watching Rayderz game. Hi everyone.
  6:17pm Teresa K.:

So glad that Michael was able to see how much we loved him! I am so grateful to have been at one of the shows. Thank you, Andrew for putting together this special tour.
  6:17pm Kittsie-Kate:

I love this song...Release
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:19pm cometothesunshine:

A lot of special times, but like everything we have to find a way forward. I believe Michael was at peace and got to do things his way, 9 times out of 10.
Avatar 6:19pm Bob T:

Too bad Peter's group Release didn't record this song 😁
  6:19pm Monkeeman Kevin:

Grateful that your doing this special show Andrew, THANKS!
  6:19pm Kittsie-Kate:

sadly I have to leave in 10 mins for a client meeting...the sound quality is just amazing!
Thanks Andrew!

  6:19pm bufanda:

nice one, andrew!
  6:20pm SuzInToronno:

Feels great being here with you guys enjoying Nez.
Avatar 6:20pm Minerwerks:

Echoing what everyone else is saying about getting to the tour this year. I know some people were skeptical and thought Nez was being taken advantage of, but I loved how much he was obviously enjoying himself and giving everything he could to the performance.
  6:20pm dangie:

LOL @ Bob T!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:20pm cometothesunshine:

I am so glad I got this together - it took many hours, but I couldn't not honor him in this way.
Avatar 6:21pm Bob T:

Too true. This is what us long time fans needed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm cometothesunshine:

Minerwerks - Nez was taking advantage of all of us - he needed love and applause. We came through for him in the end.
  6:21pm ajobo:

favorite ❤️❤️❤️❤️
  6:21pm RF:

Thank you, Andrew. I remember when you did this in honor of Davy as well.
Avatar 6:21pm Minerwerks:

Beautiful sentiment Andrew!
  6:22pm Monkeeman Kevin:

Andrew will there be any unreleased material played?
Avatar 6:22pm Reechie:

"Wax Minute" is one of my favorites of all time. Nez didn't write it, but it sounds like a song he would have. "Tantamount To Treason" is so under-rated!
  6:23pm Babinga:

I go back to that Davy show a lot...
Avatar 6:23pm Glynis GirlGroupGirl:

Enjoying in depth Nez
  6:23pm RF:

Nez' Roundhouse performance of this is legendary.
Avatar 6:23pm LizziefromKauai:

He gave everyone so many extraordinary gifts with his music, songs, films, art... enlightening all of us with his vision and dreams. We've been so blessed, and remain ever so!
  6:23pm Casper Fandango:

Andrew, thank you so much for everything you've done for the Monkees, together and solo. You have helped so many to see them in a more flattering (more accurate) light. I saw Nez solo in Atlanta in 2013 (?) and the final Monkees tour in Atlanta, GA in October (a dream set list). Such special events and memories.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:23pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks, Glynis!
Avatar 6:23pm Reechie:

And again, Red just rips it up!
  6:24pm Dakota:

Hi, new here. Had to join in tonight. The Monkees are my favorite group and Nes was my favorite member. To me he’s one of the most underrated musicians of the 20th century. Thanks Andrew for doing this. Wearing by 6 button Nez cap while listening to this tonight.
  6:24pm Paul:

Reechie--I agree about Tantamount. Mama Rocker, Napoleon's Retreat, Rainmaker, Talking to the Wall, so many great tunes.
  6:24pm Brian:

I wish I had the courage to yell out “WAX MINUTE!!” between songs at the Troubadour show and seen if it got a chuckle.
(“wax my newt..”)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24pm cometothesunshine:

RF - I passed over a lot of great live things for this show - many tough choices.
  6:24pm Scottzs:

Andrew, you'll never be receive enough gratitude for all you've done
  6:24pm RF:

Nez was an excellent rhythm guitarist actually.
  6:25pm Casper Fandango:

BTW, this is Jason Nesmith (not NeSmith). I get to work with Bill Levenson down here in Athens, GA.
  6:25pm BritishInvasionBrinley:

Even though there's just so many to choose from, this one is truly is one of Nez's best vocal performances!
  6:25pm Scottzs:

Nez was an excellent guitarist. Period. His lead work was fantastic too
  6:26pm Mike M:

Aha - I thought this sounded like an alternate mix!
6:26pm Mark @ Monkees Live Almanac:

Andrew, where do you rank Tantamount to Treason in Michael's catalog?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:27pm cometothesunshine:

I didn't know the meaning of this song till we did the Hits tour - it was wonderful to learn the back story - I think his mom gave him the concept that thought was our greatest gift. He spent most of his life in contemplation as a result.
6:27pm Is it me or someone else?:

Was that an alt version of Wax Minute or should I plug in my ear buds?
Avatar 6:27pm Minerwerks:

Casper Fanango, I was at the Atlanta show this year as well, and it was fantastic. St. Matthew gave me chills.
  6:27pm Anne:

I'm here! So cool to listen to this great radio broadcast!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:28pm cometothesunshine:

Mark - I think Tantamount is a lot less weird than it is made out to be - but perhaps overproduced in places. I think RCA lost faith in him afterwards.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:28pm cometothesunshine:

Is it me - an alternate mix
Avatar 6:28pm LizziefromKauai:

Andrew, your selection of songs is phenomenal and the audio is exceptional -- my heart is full of gratitude for this show.
  6:28pm uptown jen:

I ❤️ Tantamount!
  6:29pm James Garner:

Andrew, I wish Rhino could've released The two 4-channel First National Band albums on blu-ray in the same manner as The Chicago and Doobie Brothers Quadio Sets
  6:30pm Mike M:

Are the tapes for the quad mixes lost? I asked Nez about that once and he didn't know.
  6:30pm RF:

Wow, that version sounded like it could've been on Instant Replay.
  6:30pm Domenico from Monterey Park:

Hi Andrew... nice to hear all this
Avatar 6:31pm gretchenp1173:

Thank you for this, Andrew. I am lost in Nez, entranced, comforted by listening to his amazing music/guitar, words, and heartfelt singing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm cometothesunshine:

All that stuff is owned by Sony - very unlikely much will come of it now. Unfortunately not enough money in it for them to release.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks, Domenico!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm cometothesunshine:

Gretchen - I hope it does the trick!
  6:32pm jfmlaugh:

As we find a way to move forward...I just have to be so thankful for some of his final recordings: Birth of an Accidental Hipster, Snowfall, The Door Into Summer (Live). Always wanted more because he was just amazing...very lucky in what we have! Thanks for putting all of that together!
Avatar 6:33pm gretchenp1173:

I should add that the camaraderie of kindred Nez spirits is also sorely needed, and appreciated. Again, thank you!!
  6:34pm Brian:

The gorgeous Lazy Lady demo begs the question if there’s enough for a Vol 2 of RCA outtakes. But I’m guessing Sony isn’t interested in that as well?
Avatar 6:34pm Bob T:

I am so very grateful for While I Cry on the last tour. Andrew, how did that finally get into the setlist?
  6:35pm RF:

Is Richard's version of "Wax Minute" available somehow?

Demo of Carlisle Wheeling?
  6:37pm Kelly:

Carlisle Wheeling is everything. Thank you, Andrew!
  6:37pm Lauren:

Thank you for doing this and for all that you've done over the years for Nez and the Monkees.

Andrew, I've been hoping that you might release a playlist of the songs played before the Micky and Mike shows. Any chance you might?
  6:37pm dangie:

C.W. demo sounds amazing!!!!
  6:38pm Ben B:

Thanks for doing this, Andrew!

There's enough material for an album's worth of Monkees-era Nesmith Demos

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:40pm cometothesunshine:

Lauren - it varied from night to night
  6:40pm RF:

I wonder when the "Joanne" demo was recorded.
  6:42pm jfmlaugh:

Is this the Keys To The Car and Joanne Demo's you once referenced when he recorded them during the Monkees?
Avatar 6:43pm Reechie:

Geez...if this stuff was Gram Parsons or Neil Young, they'd be doing flips and twists to release it. With Nez, it's "There's no money in it..." :(
Avatar 6:44pm TRobison821:

RF- According to Andrew's book Joanne demo was recorded September 19, 1969
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:44pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks! Someone read my book!
  6:45pm RF:

Thanks, TR. I haven't gotten that far yet, lol.

It's hard enough just lifting it!
  6:45pm Scottzs:

I'm working on the book. It's a hefty tome

Keys demoed same day
  6:45pm Dakota:

Andrew, are you kidding? Your book is amazing. The best thing I got in 2021.
  6:46pm jfmlaugh:

The Book is amazing! So those are the versions....yes!! Thank You!
Avatar 6:46pm LizziefromKauai:

Andrew, is there any background context to Cantata and Fugue in C & W? I adore that instrumental -- it feels like the soundtrack to my childhood days growing up on my grandparents' farm.
  6:47pm jfmlaugh:

You have so many versions of the songs...wanted to make sure those were the demo's during the Monkees! Amazing!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:47pm cometothesunshine:

Lizzie - it dates back at least to early 1967 as he plays it during the Headquarters sessions.
  6:48pm Monkeeman Kevin:

Andrew, Nez told me in a zoom call he was talking to John Jorgenson and gonna possibly tour together....what do you know about that?

How Can You Kiss Me...is so great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:50pm cometothesunshine:

Kevin - we were in touch with John but there were scheduling issues and we also had committed to about five guitar players in the band. John is a wonderful player and super nice person.

Hey Andrew and shiners!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:51pm cometothesunshine:

Welcome, Patrick!
  6:51pm dangie:

The Mike John & Bill stuff is GOLD!!
  6:51pm BritishInvasionBrinley:

All of this great material just goes to show how much pure talent and intelligence poured out of Nez even this early... with such ambition, he was always destined to be a bright star
  6:52pm Monkeeman Kevin:

Too bad that didn't come to light.
  6:52pm Lowe-life:

Thank you Andrew! I got to see the Mickey and Mike show in NYC and it was a total treat!
Avatar 6:52pm Bob T:

I would gladly purchase a collection of Michael Blessing recordings.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53pm cometothesunshine:

So glad you did, Lowe-life.
  6:54pm Paul:

Andrew, is there any chance the rest of the Michael Blessing, and Mike & John & Bill recordings will get released like the batch including on the Super Deluxe Edition of The Monkees?
Avatar 6:54pm CJ Costa Rica:

I asked Nez and Melodie about reissuing the Blessing era recordings. She said they were planning something.
  6:55pm Paul:

Thank you CJ!

First time I heard the Mike sung version of The Girl I Knew Somewhere , I nearly screamed in delight. Such a great version.

  6:58pm Jim Monaghan:

How could Don Kirshner - with that famous Golden Ear - not hear what the four of them were capable of? Was his ego THAT big?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:58pm cometothesunshine:

Yes, Jim.

No, he just did those two songs with Christian & Jonathan
  7:01pm Monkeeman Kevin:

How come Salesman never got played in any recent tours?
  7:01pm Paul:

Wow! Had no idea they ever performed Salesman live! This is fantastic!
  7:01pm Gretchen:

Just wanted to say, I'm loving hearing those lost, obscure cuts so much! Thank you for the work of putting this together!
  7:01pm dangie:

It wasn't in the cards, but wish the four guys would've went back into a recording studio together after the Far East tour...

"Live In Japan"...The Monkees Holy Grail!
  7:02pm Scottzs:

Is Davy playing bass or organ on this track?
  7:02pm abbycadabby:

Wow. This is great.
  7:02pm Jim Monaghan:

Peter's eyes would light up whenever he told me about the 1968 Japan tour - always talked about them "pocket."
  7:02pm Scottzs:

The video for this is the holy grail. The audio has been circulating for years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:03pm cometothesunshine:

Kevin - We tried it at rehearsals in 2018, but it was little high vocally. And then we lowered the key and it didn't move like the record.
  7:03pm RF:

I love how Micky throws in ohayo gozaimasu lol!
  7:03pm Anne:

what a library of music! He lives behind such a legacy. So proud of his accomplishments!
  7:03pm Melba Toast:

Hi Andrew,
I’m so very happy you put together this amazing collection of music tonight.
I was very fortunate to see the LA show last month. Wow, what an opportunity.Much gratitude to you and everybody that made that happen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm cometothesunshine:

Good question, Scottzs - wish I knew definitively.
  7:04pm abbycadabby:

I want that white guitar in the photo and I don't play guitar. Is that wrong?
  7:04pm Monkeeman Kevin:

Interesting thx

Peter's bass-line = RAWK
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks, Melba Toast!
Avatar 7:04pm CJ Costa Rica:

My fav version of Circle Sky
  7:04pm Scottzs:

We know Davy's on organ on "Clrcle Sky"
  7:05pm Jim Monaghan:

That comment about Peter/Japan should have been "hitting the pocket."
  7:05pm Scottzs:

If we could find the video of the Japan 1968 concert, we'd know the answer
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05pm cometothesunshine:

They played very little together in 1968 - but they sounded much better than 1967
  7:05pm littlefriendsof:

Thanks, Andrew, for putting this together! Great show so far!
  7:06pm Scottzs:

This sounds like a different mix!
  7:06pm Julie Klausner:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:07pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks, littlefriendsof - love your work so much!
7:07pm Is it me or someone else?:

Oh that was a nice transition from Circle Sky into Accidental Hipster! I’m really enjoying this. Thank you for doing this, Andrew.
  7:07pm Brian:

Thank you so much for this playlist. So many amazing songs and memories.
  7:07pm Alan Adkins:

Andrew, thank you for celebrating Nez’s life in such a way and all you have done for the Monkees and their fans. Also the “Sunny Girlfriend” acoustic is one of my absolute favorites from the expanded releases.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:07pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks, Julie - first time listener, long time caller!
  7:08pm carnovsky:

My apologies if you’ve covered this, but will the incredible bounty that is this show be archived? I have a group of friends newly open to (and digging) MN’s work but several of them can’t listen live.
  7:08pm Casper Fandango:

I can only guess that "Feeling low" section is an intentional nod and wink to Matilda Mother. Any confirmation on that?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08pm cometothesunshine:

I thought when we did Good Times if we only got one good song it might be worth the hassle. And we got a whole album - what a gift.
  7:08pm Scottzs:

The backing vocals are so well defined here. WOW!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08pm cometothesunshine:

carnovsky - it should live on this page.
  7:08pm jfmlaugh:

I always feel that he LOVED this song
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:09pm cometothesunshine:

Casper - you will have to ask Paul Weller or Noel Gallagher
  7:10pm uptown jen:

Such a gift. I seriously hold ‘Good Times’ right up with ‘Pisces’ and ‘Headquarters’ as my favorite Monkees records.
  7:10pm Scottzs:

Hearing "St Matthew" and "I Don't Think You Know Me (in 2011) live.. I never thought that would ever happen. Those were just amazing!
  7:10pm David DiSanzo:

This is a great tribute - been listening to a lot of this material myself this past week. Happy to see such love for Mike and his music here with all the comments from so many...
  7:10pm BritishInvasionBrinley:

St. Matthew was the song that hooked me onto Nez. So much gratitude and memories with this track - and the live version is so impassioned!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:10pm cometothesunshine:

Watching people stand up when they played this was really a joy - I was happy we were making a few people's nights with the wide range of songs. The Monkees were not going to be a crappy oldies act on my watch.
Avatar 7:11pm johnyoung1234:

@cometothesunshine - Good Times was such an amazing achievement. The quality of the songwriting is top notch. Micky's vocals are incredible. I can't think of too many late career albums from ANY artist as good.
Avatar 7:11pm Reechie:

The Monkees never had a better friend than Andrew!
  7:11pm Scottzs:

Andrew, I remember that the "extra" songs from the M&M live album were briefly listed on the website as going to be available as downloads. Is that ever going to happen?
  7:12pm carnovsky:

Excellent, thank you. For this and so many other above-and-beyond acts of Monkees/Nez husbandry and advocacy. Mensch of the century.
Avatar 7:12pm Glynis GirlGroupGirl:

Any and every version of this song!! ❤️❤️❤️
Avatar 7:13pm CJ Costa Rica:

Andrew, thank you for all you've done with The Monkees. Enjoying this lovely tribute for Mike. Sending love to everyone in the camp.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:13pm Julie P.:

"Door Into Summer" was a highlight of the show for me! Never thought I'd hear it live!
  7:13pm Brian:

The Monkees would never have been an oldies act. They kept the jokes from the show, and playing the newer songs. I never got to see the Mike and Mickey, but I've seen videos from people and they still had magic.
  7:13pm abbycadabby:

I love what you did with them Andrew. So glad they avoiding the kitschy oldies act routine. And you know they appreciated that.
  7:13pm jfmlaugh:

The Door Into Summer Live is unbelievable to me...I think I may like it better than the original. Love that we got another recent vocal from Mike.
Avatar 7:13pm MOM WHIG:

GGGG - good to see you here too (got my pkgs today) thanks
Avatar 7:13pm johnyoung1234:

I remember the first time I heard St. Matthew on the day Missing Links Vol. 2 was released. I always thought the Monkees stuff left in the can couldn't be that great. Boy was I wrong. I was literally thinking...WTF?! How could they have left this unreleased?
  7:13pm Kelly:

Door into Summer on that live album is just heart-stopping.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:14pm cometothesunshine:

Scottzs - we seriously have a ton of live material, but I think we need a little time before we can move forward with any releases. That is why I am doing today's show - I hope everyone can mellow out and meditate on what we have and not what we do not.
  7:14pm Ben B:

You did an outstanding job with your tours Andrew! I enjoyed them the most!
  7:15pm Laurie:

I have returns to make, Andrew, and I'm a prisoner in the car in the store parking lot listening to this. Those Mike & John & Bill songs were seriously some of the best 60s music I've ever heard! Right up there with your Where the Action Is box set. This is all incredible and I'm thankful you put it all together. Now if I could just tear myself away to make these returns...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:15pm Dominick:

Hey Dom good to see you
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:16pm Dominick:

Happy to be here Mom
Avatar 7:17pm TRobison821:

I am still blown away we got a solid decade of Nez touring in one form or another. I only wish I saw the FNB 2.0 tour, but the Hits tour in 1/19 was incredible.
  7:18pm Scottzs:

I understand that completely. Believe me, I am more than grateful for what we have (and have been telling people they should be the same). I was only curious about those few tracks from the M&M Live album, because Rhino had "accidentally" listed that they were going to be available.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18pm cometothesunshine:

I feel the first Redux was the best redux performance wise.
  7:19pm Eric:

if I'm allowed to ask - are you going to play any tunes from Photon Wing? even though Rio was the hit, I love the tunes on side 2
  7:19pm Brian:

This Calico demo is like a preview of how he did it on Live at Palais! (one of my fave Nez things ever)
  7:19pm Scottzs:

The "Last Of The First" mix!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:20pm cometothesunshine:

Eric - I love The Other Room and put it forward for Dolenz Sings Nesmith.
  7:20pm curiousjo:

Thank you for playing these songs for us. I've been a fan of Mike & The Monkees all my life. My tears are bittersweet-I'm heartbroken that's he's gone, so thankful I saw them a total of 3 times, the last time in September.
Avatar 7:20pm Reechie:

This guy deserves an extensive career retrospective...this show proves it. I fear we're past the time where anybody'd put it out, though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21pm cometothesunshine:

Curious - I am very sad too - cried many a tear to these tunes.
  7:21pm Melba Toast:

Andrew, the tracked from Mike &Mickey live…do you you know which venue they recorded at?
  7:21pm jfmlaugh:

Loved when Nez joined them in 86 for Listen To The Band
  7:21pm Julie Klausner:

Giving a TIGHT salute for these FNB tracks.
  7:22pm Dakota:

At least Colgems was smart enough to release Listen to the Band during the Monkees original run. If only they were smart enough to put it out as the original A-side on the Someday Man single (though I LOVE Someday Man).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm cometothesunshine:

We used performances from 5 shows, Melba - but in some cases edited more than one performance.
  7:22pm Ben B:

I’m still getting choked up and crying that he’s no longer with us. I’m glad he left us all this wonderful music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:23pm cometothesunshine:

Ben - the tears are good - he made us happy. Let it out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24pm izzy:

Fantastic show, Andrew!
  7:24pm Ben B:

Thank you, Andrew.
  7:24pm jfmlaugh:

It's funny...I'm in the minority here ~ I've never connected with any version of Little Red Rider.
  7:25pm Welshgrrl:

Awesome playlist, thank you for putting this together - and thanks to Nez for so many decades of great music
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks, Izzy.
  7:26pm Linda Zoe:

Andrew, is there a high quality video of the entire last performance at The Greek? There's a video on YouTube, but there is a lot of background conversation on it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26pm cometothesunshine:

Michael obviously thought a lot of it - it was his debut solo single post Monkees.
Avatar 7:26pm Bob T:

It would be smart if a certain record label that has the Monkees rights would act upon the attention to our beloved Next, and release some deluxe sets that haven't gotten out at this point...
  7:27pm Eric:

agreed - love The Other Room - who was Carlos? Real or a character in Nez's movies of the mind?
  7:27pm Kittsie-Kate:

had to duck away and managed to come back to be gret by Mamma nantucket!
  7:27pm Dakota:

I wish The Crippled Lion was released on a single. It one of Nes’ best!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:27pm izzy:

So glad I made it out to the Greek! Seemed to be much more energy than the Minneapolis show.
  7:27pm littlefriendsof:

kinda loving all this extra reverb on this quad mix!!!!
  7:27pm Anne:

One of my all time fave Nez tunes from Magnetic South!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:28pm izzy:

Plus it was an absolutely perfect night!
  7:28pm RF:

Wasn't "The Crippled Lion" a single in Japan?
  7:28pm Scottzs:

I need to hook my surround sound setup again, just so I can listen to Magnetic South and Loose Salute in dts quad again
  7:29pm Dakota:

I should say on the U.S single, it was released in Japan and I don’t think it got much action their. Correct me if I’m wrong.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:29pm cometothesunshine:

I love the Quad mix - littlefriendsof
  7:29pm jfmlaugh:

I don't even know what version I like best of The Crippled Lion. This could be my favorite mix. Awesome song.
  7:29pm Lowe-life:

Personally speaking, this is the best Papa Nez song
  7:30pm Gregg:

When I was a teeny tiny kid I fell head-over-heels in love with Mike the Monkee, I wanted to marry him
When I was about 10 I fell in love with Michael Nesmith becuse Joanne made me cry...
Wheh I was about 14 I found out that Mike the Monkee and Michael Nesmith were the same person after being told so by Molly Meldrum on the Aussie TV music show called Countdown
(you could NOT go to school on Monday if you had not seen Countdown on Sunday night)
  7:33pm uptown jen:

Love this! Adding it to my wish list.
  7:33pm Jim Monaghan:

Wow! Post-Nitty Gritty Chris Darrow. Never heard this before.
  7:33pm Brian:

Crippled Lion is so magical. It took me a thousand listens to get the gist of it (I think) A rare Nez song about mortality rather than his usual CS-inspired immortal/infinite slant.
Avatar 7:33pm CJ Costa Rica:

this is good. good band
  7:34pm Christopher:

Thank you very much Andrew for all of your hard work. I know that Nez would be pleased with the tribute that you've paid to his legacy through this b5roadcast.
  7:34pm Jim Monaghan:

Bill Chadwick sounds a lot like Emitt Rhodes on this track.
  7:35pm Dakota:

Bill Chadwick, nice!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:35pm cometothesunshine:

Thank you, Christopher - I truly appreciate that.

So many great songs! Well done, Andrew, well done.
  7:38pm Christopher:

Didn't Bill Chadwick work with Davy Jones on the Monkees PResent album?
  7:39pm Scottzs:

Yes, he did
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:39pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks, Truly Joyful! Yes, he did, Christopher.
  7:41pm Christopher:

One thing I really enjoyed on the Monkees albums was to see the propgression of how the songs were made. I rerally enjoyed the stuidio conversations.

Hi Andrew n all! Quick check in to say hello and say thank you for all you do to keep Michael's music out there.
  7:44pm Anne:

Andrew - this is real ear candy! I have not heard anything from these artists before! So cool to hear these gems after all these years...thank you for keeping their music alive!
  7:44pm Scottzs:

I'd heard a rumor that the Eagles' version of "Seven Bridges Road" was a cover, and that Nez had done the vocal arrangement for the version the Eagles covered
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44pm cometothesunshine:

You are very welcome, Anne - I devoted my life to music and sharing it is my greatest joy!

Never heard this Garland Frady version! Outstanding!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks, Matt - I'm a little bit country and a lot a bit Beat Group.
  7:45pm Christopher:

Can you imagine the looks on the studio musicians faces when Nez went to Nashville in 68 to record and introduced them to country rock?
  7:45pm Linda Zoe:

Silver Moon is one of my top 3 favorite Nez songs!
  7:46pm Scottzs:

Andrew, kinda like "Sonny & Cilla"
  7:46pm Kim C:

LOVING the Garland Frady Silver Moon!
  7:47pm Paul:

I'm discovering many new (to me) musicians, songs, and Nez covers here! Thank you for compiling and sharing these Andrew!
  7:48pm Christopher:

I didn'tknow there were rehearsals for the Changes album. I heard it was recorded in a single day
  7:48pm Lowe-life:

This portion of the set is blowing my mind
  7:49pm Denro:

Thanks for the great selections Andrew! You played quite a few rarities during the Mike and Micky Show concert pre-show, too. This is like an extension of it! Thank you again!
  7:49pm Kittsie-Kate:

When I was 15 I won an essay writing competition...the topic was
"in your opinion, who has had the biggest poetical influence on your life"

My essay was called: Pure Poetry, an image that sings

Other talked up Shakespeare and Keats and Frost and Paterson.....I spoke of the amazing poetry in Propinquity and Joanne...
I still have my copy of Complete Woks Of Shakespeare that I won for my First Place essay all thanks to the genius of Michael Nesmith
  7:49pm Domenico:

alright! THE CORVETTES. I found out about them because they were or became Linda Ronstadt's band (?)

  7:52pm Domenico:

Think Corvettes were Chris Darrow and Jeff Hanna on leave from the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, with John Ware and ?John London? on drums and bass?
  7:53pm Scottzs:

The original 1974 mix of "The Prison" needs to see a proper reissue
  7:53pm abbycadabby:

I couldn't find anything on Corvettes. Thanks for the info.

Sad that the tapes for The Prison are lost ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54pm cometothesunshine:

He loved Harry & Bill Martin
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54pm cometothesunshine:

Mike M - tapes for Prison orig mix not lost.
  7:54pm Scottzs:

If the tapes are lost, then how was Nez able to remix the album twice, once in 1990, and again in 2007?
Avatar 7:55pm TRobison821:

  7:55pm Lowe-life:

Will this show be available on Apple podcasts (I know 😩) or are those days over?
  7:55pm Mike M:

Oh! Nex told me once he didn't have them ... maybe someone else does? That would sound amazing with a light remastering.
Avatar 7:56pm WLSClark:

Great show, Andrew!
Avatar 7:56pm johnyoung1234:

Nez's version of Snowfall is sublime
  7:56pm Dakota:

Oh joy, snowfall! I was just listening to this last night. I love it so.
  7:56pm ?:

A nez Xmas record would've been amazing....
  7:57pm jfmlaugh:

Man...My ears are playing tricks on me. I'm picking up different vocals with this Snowfall version.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm cometothesunshine:

Yes, Ben B.

Nez's tracks on this album are sublime.

Nez had a soothing voice!

I wish he had returned to the studio for one more country album.

Thanks for this, Andrew. What a joy.

Jonathan's production of "Snowfall" is perfection
  7:59pm dangie:

This has been GREAT, Andrew. Thank you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:59pm cometothesunshine:

This is the one that takes me back to 1977 - so much joy and melody.
  8:00pm Linda Zoe:

I truly believe that Mike & Micky saved my life.

When COVID hit, I was morbidly obese. I bought tickets to the Mike & Micky Show, and starting exercising to the music of The Monkees and The First National Band, with the goal to be a healthy weight for the show. I lost 140 pounds, and sat in the front row of their San Antonio concert in my size 10 clothes. I never could have persevered without these guys. I wish I could have thanked them in person.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:00pm cometothesunshine:

So much music yet to discover - but the first music was probably the best.
Avatar 8:00pm Minerwerks:

Congrats, Linda!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:01pm cometothesunshine:

That is beautiful, Linda - I am so happy for you! They too took me on the trip of a lifetime.
  8:01pm Ben B:

His songs always stood out as my favorites on the TV show. Pulled me in and never let go!
  8:01pm Babinga:

I'm sure this tv version was the 1st song I ever heard with him
  8:01pm jfmlaugh:

@Linda....incredible ~ congrats! ! I think they saved/lifted our lives several times.
Avatar 8:01pm sw2442:

I concour Andrew...that was about the time...1976-77...seven and eight years old...that they really made an impact on me.
  8:02pm Christopher:

I loved all of the Monkees songs that Mike did. To be honest, Peter was my least favorite. I can listen to the other 3's songs pretty well.
  8:02pm Anne:

Andrew - anything in the works for potential release in 2022? Any more un-released tracks - Nez and/or Monkees?
  8:03pm Kelly:

SYT gets me off my seat every. Single. Time.
  8:04pm Christopher:

Anne, was it you who mentioned about the Changes rehearsals earlier?
  8:04pm DennisK:

I really regret now having sold my "Learn To Play Like The Monkees" music book, purchased in 1967, on eBay a few years ago. Andrew, do you have one of those?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:04pm cometothesunshine:

Anne - I am working on my book company - Rhino have to plan all the releases and I need too save my energy.
  8:04pm abbycadabby:

Tears. Sad and happy tears. Volume up. My 11 year old self is crushed by the loss but so thankful for the recordings.
  8:04pm Anne:

No - not me.
  8:05pm Kyle:

I've really been enjoying the show tonight, Andrew. Thank you for putting this together.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:05pm cometothesunshine:

My pleasure, Kyle - thanks for tuning in!
  8:05pm Anne:

Gotcha! It's okay - fingers crossed that we might get a surprise!
  8:05pm Babinga:

@Anne 7A had a cryptic post today...looks like there will be something from them soon
  8:05pm Randall:

Npt written by Nez, but "Hangin' Round" is my all time favv Monkees track.
  8:06pm DennisK:

A wonderful story, Linda - the healing, restorative power of music!! <3 So happy for you.
  8:06pm abbycadabby:

"What Am I Doing Hangin' Round". Probably the first time I played "air bass" and it wasn't a Beatles song. Again, 11 years old. Thank you, Chip Douglas!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:06pm izzy:

I remember my five-year-old self loving this tune when it played on the show!
  8:06pm uptown jen:

I was just thinking of this song the other night. I remember thinking I hated country music, and I was utterly confounded why I loved this song so much. Turns out I had a lot to learn, but it was then I decided Mike was “my” Monkee.
  8:06pm Dakota:

What Am I Doing Hangin' Round. My favorite Nesmith Monkees song. First time I heard it on the second two opener it just blew me away.
  8:07pm uptown jen:

(I was 8, btw)
  8:07pm Synodicat:

Ok. "Hangin' Round" is gonna make me cry. Thanks for this show, Andrew.
  8:07pm jfmlaugh:

Top 5 Monkees songs for me. I just can't stop smiling. The episode cracks me up too.
  8:07pm Monkeeman Kevin:

Andrew can you say, Why were songs cut out in the later part of the tour, Like this one? Was Nez wearing down? He seemed to get stronger but glad I was at early shows and later shows!
Avatar 8:07pm sw2442:

This song would have made a great single...maybe could've become a Country hit too.
  8:07pm DennisK:

I remember my 12-year-old self practicing to this song, and trying to match Eddie Hoh's kick drum! Proud t say I nailed it!
  8:08pm Domenico:

Clarence White, guitar on What Am I Doin' Hangin' Round
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:08pm cometothesunshine:

Kevin - Jonathan felt the show was too long for his dad.
  8:08pm Christopher:

I heard the Byrds were the background singers on Hanging' Round.
  8:08pm jfmlaugh:

Nine Times Blue is perfection!
  8:08pm Domenico:

I was blown away by some of the Red Rhodes playing about 40 minutes ago BTW.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:08pm cometothesunshine:

Domenico - actually Doug Dillard on electric Rickenbacker banjo
  8:09pm BritishInvasionBrinley:

Nine Times Blues - the textbook definition of sublime. I think this is the one where the tears can't be held...
Avatar 8:09pm WLSClark:

I was 10 when Monkees hit. I was a huge Cryan Shames fan and the Pre-fabs were a blessing too in late 66. I grabbed the various B&W/color pic sleeves as they showed up in our stores in late 66/early 67. Bought em all. Good for a 10 year old.
  8:10pm DennisK:

Domenico, I think the only Monkees tune Clarence played on was Steam Engine.... yes? And I heard DD's electric banjo was gifted to him by McGuinn, for whom Rickenbacker made it.
  8:10pm Dakota:

WLSClark, nice story, the Cryan Shames rock!
  8:10pm DennisK:

I saw DD play it with The Byrds (with Gram Parsons) in 1968
  8:10pm Domenico:

Andrew... all the demos done during Monkee days not released, demos for First National band plus the released stuff and other out-takes... seems logical a Nez box set akin to what we are hearing should come out... obviously there are enough fans
Avatar 8:11pm WLSClark:

Thanks, Dakota. It was a dream time for me, musically.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:11pm cometothesunshine:

Correct, Dennis K
  8:11pm DennisK:

That banjo had a beautiful case with a psychedelic velour interior
Avatar 8:11pm johnyoung1234:

@DennisK - that was James Burton on Steam Engine not Clarence White
Avatar 8:12pm WLSClark:

I just realized this is going 3 hours! Awesome!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:12pm cometothesunshine:

I want one, Dennis!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:12pm cometothesunshine:

No, definitely Clarence on Steam Engine.
  8:13pm DennisK:

I defer to Andrew on that one (and ANY Monkees fact!), johnyoung1234
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:13pm cometothesunshine:

As well as Red Rhodes.
  8:13pm Christopher:

I became a Monkees fan in the mid-80's, when I was finishing middle/entering high school.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:13pm cometothesunshine:

Chip Douglas didn't use James Burton on his productions.
  8:13pm Monkeeman Kevin:

Too bad, Hangin' Round was always a crowd favorite!
  8:13pm Scottzs:

Another Monkees connection here. This record was produced by the late Nick Venet. His wife Valerie was featured in a couple episodes of the TV show
  8:14pm DennisK:

When Davy passed and there was a memorial show in NYC, Peter sang Hangin' Round to represent Mike (who wasn't there)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:14pm cometothesunshine:

Two 45's issued within days of one another - both produced by Nick venet
  8:14pm Mikey:

I was in the cheap seats for the Greek last month and enjoyed the murmur of surprise move through the crowd when Micky said Nez wrote Different Drum.
  8:15pm DennisK:

Nick "got around".... heh
Avatar 8:15pm Minerwerks:

The hosts of the Fab Fourum on the Sirius XM Beatles Channel were paying tribute to Nez on their show last week and it was brought up how he did the folk singer version of Different Drum on the show.
  8:15pm Anne:

How fitting to hear Linda singing Different Drum! Thanks so much for including this in the broadcast!
  8:15pm Monkeeman Kevin:

Doug Dillard....one of the Darlings on Andy Griffith show...He was a nice guy when I met him years ago. He went to school with my Uncle.
  8:15pm abbycadabby:

Linda's lucky star of a song.
Avatar 8:15pm johnyoung1234:

@cometothesunshine - You are right (of course)! I was confusing "Steam Engine" with "Midnight Train". My bad.
  8:15pm Better Call Schaal:

Chiming in a little late but man oh man, the Davy version of "Nine Times Blue" could've been an outtake from the 3rd Velvet Underground album.
Avatar 8:15pm Reechie:

True story, my wife and I met 33 years ago at a Monkees convention in Los Angeles. I flew in from Pennsylvania, she came from Michigan. We'd have never gotten together without The Monkees. The Monkees have been good to me!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15pm cometothesunshine:

BTW - Michael didn't especially like this hit arrangement - I personally love it. Venet took his song to a place Nez would never have gone and it worked brilliantly.
  8:16pm Scottzs:

Heya Andy!
  8:16pm DennisK:

Nice, reechie
Avatar 8:16pm Minerwerks:

Agree Andrew, it's a fantastic single!
  8:17pm Domenico:

This Some of Shelly's Blues sounds so right
Avatar 8:17pm WLSClark:

My fave cover of a Nesmith tune.
  8:17pm DennisK:

Great harpsichord on DD - Al DeLory, Andrew?
  8:17pm BritishInvasionBrinley:

There's nothing that a bit of harpsichord can't improve!
  8:18pm DennisK:

Especially a Baldwin, right Brinley??
Avatar 8:18pm WLSClark:

This seems less echoey than my stereo 45. Different mix for mono?
  8:18pm abbycadabby:

I think Linda was shocked to hear the elaborate production.
  8:19pm BritishInvasionBrinley:

Dennis - absolutely!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:19pm cometothesunshine:

I think the mono is a different mix, Clark. I dubbed my 45 especially for this episode.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:19pm cometothesunshine:

I don't know, but that is a good guess, DK
  8:19pm Scottzs:

Virtually an identical arrangement to the Monkees' recording
  8:19pm jfmlaugh:

Don't Wait For Me! Love this song...love this version!
  8:20pm Randall:

2ne best track on "Instant Replay" after "While I Cry"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:20pm cometothesunshine:

This cover produced by Felton Jarvis, who is an unsung figure in Nesmith's transformation to country rock.
  8:21pm jfmlaugh:

Was Don't Wait For Me every considered for the tour?

How close was Don't Call On Me to making the set?
Avatar 8:21pm Minerwerks:

Did Nesmith do a version of Shelly's with "stay with the boy that loves you?" Seems like a very specific choice to say that instead "man that loves you" in the NGDB version.
  8:21pm Christopher:

While I cry is my absolute favorite from Instant Replay
  8:22pm Eli Miller:

Hi Andrew great to be tuning in and happy holidays!
  8:23pm Scottzs:

Felton Jarvis was an amazing producer. Some of the stuff he did for Elvis was fantastic
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:23pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks, Eli!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:23pm cometothesunshine:

John London was Michael's greatest supporter before the Monkees.
  8:23pm Monkeeman Kevin:

Would have been interesting to see Nez perform this Don't Call on Me
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:23pm cometothesunshine:

He co-wrote this song.
  8:23pm Paul:

Great set Andrew! Really enjoyed the cover of This All Happened Once Before. Two Different Roads is probably my favorite track off And the Hits... The version that opens Nez's Live at the Britt concert is beautiful.
  8:24pm jkc:

I'd heard Nat Stuckey's cover of Listen To The Band but never Don't Wait For me — until now. This whole show is just what the doctor ordered and then some! Thanks, Andrew.
  8:24pm BritishInvasionBrinley:

In total awe of this version, this is incredible!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:24pm cometothesunshine:

Thanks, jkc
  8:24pm James Garner:

I wish Felton Jarvis paired Willie Nelson and Nez together when they were both on RCA
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:24pm cometothesunshine:

We did briefly rehearse Don't Call On Me
  8:26pm Eli Miller:

My first question of the night about Nez is I know you two have talked about releasing his old material that he recorded before he joined the Monkees. Is that idea still in the process at all?
Avatar 8:26pm Reechie:

Another great cover from "Tantamount". And RCA didn't think they could do anything with this stuff?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:26pm cometothesunshine:

Talking To The Wall - Michael was such a great singer of other people's songs. He knew what to do!
Avatar 8:27pm Reechie:

Nez's "She Thinks I Still Care" is incredible!
  8:27pm Domenico:

"Don't Call On Me" was the perfect opener for one of my recent '66 SUNSET STRIP radio shows (Dublab.com)... NICE DEMO!!!
  8:28pm Linda Zoe:

I bought tickets to the farewell show that was planned (and then postponed) for the Dosey Doe Barn in The Woodlands. It would have been awesome to see Mike singing in that venue.
  8:29pm DennisK:

Ah, Domenico! Happy Yuletide to you and the Beckster!
  8:29pm RF:

"I Won't Be the Same Without Her", great production.
  8:29pm Scottzs:

I just learned and started covering this one!
8:29pm Mark @ Monkees Live Almanac:

Andrew, was "I Won't Be The Same Without Her" ever considered for any of the tours since 2012?
  8:29pm Christopher:

I had tickets for the Biloxi, MS show that was canceled, so I know how you feel about missing it.
Avatar 8:29pm WLSClark:

WOW, never heard this version. Warner Bros version is awesome too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29pm cometothesunshine:

Having been there with Peter in 2013, I know it is a wonderful venue. But there were health/safety concerns and I had to cancel those dates. It was a miracle we stayed healthy on the tour, but it was down to making decisions like that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:30pm cometothesunshine:

The Biloxi date was cancelled by the venue, not us.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:30pm cometothesunshine:

Mark - it was never rehearsed.
  8:31pm BritishInvasionBrinley:

This song is so great, it's great for when you're feeling up or down, and works every time
  8:31pm Linda Zoe:

I understand. I was planning to eat in my car and keep my mask on during the show.
  8:31pm DennisK:

That this year's tour was completed successfully in these crazy times is a real testament to the hard work you ALL did to keep everyone in the company safe, Andrew. I saw it firsthand - not a easy thing to do!
  8:31pm Domenico:

Hi Dennis K. Becky and I are working in separate rooms but both listening to Andrew. This has been an amazing three hours
Avatar 8:31pm Minerwerks:

Was surprised but elated to hear "I Won't Be The Same Without Her" on Underground Garage channel. Turns out it was the night before news came out about Nez.
  8:31pm Eli Miller:

My other question is 7a says they have uncovered some material but I'm just wondering what did they uncover do you know?
  8:31pm Scottzs:

This version grew on me. But I still prefer Version 2
  8:32pm Linda Zoe:

The greatest ballad ever!
Avatar 8:32pm CJ Costa Rica:

I love both versions
  8:32pm Synodicat:

Scottz I agree with you.
  8:32pm Scottzs:

Eli, 7a will announce when the time is right
  8:32pm jfmlaugh:

Both Versions are so amazing...
  8:32pm DennisK:

This was a sublime part of the last tour - Micky and Nez locked in - beautiful
  8:32pm Mikey:

Me & Magdalena is my favorite Monkees track. Sad I didn't get to hear it in LA but watching Emeen tear up Auntie's Municipal Court made up for it!
Avatar 8:33pm Reechie:

We owe you and everyone involved a world of thanks for "Good Times".
  8:33pm DennisK:

  8:33pm DennisK:

I second that emotion, Reechie
  8:33pm Better Call Schaal:

"Auntie's Municipal Court" shoulda been a hit!

Mahalo nui loa for bringing these exquisite songs to us again. Bless you and Nez and his loved ones infinitely. A thousand times a thousand infinities is far short of how long he will be missed but his Light will shine evermore within our hearts, minds, and souls -- always....

Chris Peak sent me a novelty Michael Blessing song that was a total parody of Dylan and "Baby Let Me Follow You Down."

The B Side of Vallerie. The first single I ever bought. This song had little me totally baffled. I took a while to grow into it.

Andrew, that was amazing. Thank you so much!
  9:04pm Carmelita:

Fantastic show Andrew! Very well put together… also I loved to hear you sing
  9:07pm AMC:

Thanks so much for this—was great to hear some things that were new to me, curated by the ideal person to do a Nesmith tribute. I hope an archived version will stay up!!
  9:12pm Cheri:

This is Carmelita’s friend Cheri. She is blind and I help her with some tech things. But I want to make a comment on my own. I am a huge fan of Gram Parsons and I was loving Nez's country rock stuff you played. I had absolutely no idea he wrote and played such good stuff! Thanks to you and Carmelita for turning me on to it!
  4:11am Rob W:

Thanks Andrew for the great tribute, and all you have done to maintain and indeed bring the Monkees and Nez back to a such great recognition and prominence these last 10 years especially.
  1:55pm Tony Michael:

Hi Andrew,
Thank you for this amazing show. I got goosebumps hearing the different mixes! I thought I heard everything. You're amazing with your stack of rarities goodies.
It's always amazing to hear something new of Michael's.
I'm glad I got to see Papa Nes with the Monkees in 2012 and solo the following year. Did the meet and greet and we talked about our disdain for the 2005 film version of Hitch-hiker's guide. Very down to earth guy. He will always be my hero.
Thank you once again for this loving tribute, the fantastic book, the bluray and the box sets!
Keep on keeping on!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07am Brian in UK:

Thanks Andrew. Had to dig out my copy of Zigzag, then ofcourse I had to go through the rest of the issues.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09am Brian in UK:

Saw Michael with Red Rhodes & John Stewart at the Zigzag fifth anniversary concert in 1974. I am sure that you are aware of it. He played a wonderful show.
