My friend took lessons with Roy when I was younger. He lived not far me in his later years. I have no clue how that happened but he was real good on the Trumpet when we were still in Elementary school.

I guess I should consider myself unique and fortunate to have grown up in a home where we had two Hammonds - mind you, neither one a B-3; the first was a '65 model H-133 tonewheeler but that one had a dedicated Leslie cabinet in addition to the built-in speakers, the more recent one was an early 80's solid-state Colonnade, but still, they were made by the same company that built the best.

Wow, Carmichael! I'm just a tad envious. I did manage to see Jimmy live in person at Jazz Alley in Seattle during the promotion of his last album, "Dot Com Blues". I wound up being seated at a table just a few feet diagonally from the RH side of his B3. His demeanor wasn't exactly the greatest that night, but he could still play. It was one of the best experiences I treated myself to, having been a huge fan since college, and I was buying practically every available CD of his earlier albums back then.
