Folks, the New York Knickerbockers are poised to win their tenth game in a row tonight. Nothing but positive vibrations.

Right on – I was the proud fan of a contending, and even Champion NBA team not all that long ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20pm
Nate K.:

Oh, how the mighty fall, Drew.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28pm
ultradamno:

Is that Jenkins an album? I only see the single on discogs. Great stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:31pm
Nate K.:

Nah, just an inaccu-playlist error.

Alvin C. Copeland claimed he named the stores after the fictional detective Jimmy "Popeye" Doyle in the movie The French Connection en.wikipedia.org...

ultradamno:

I wonder if Gene Hackman eats there.

Hey Nate - just checking in - enjoying the show.

Hey, @Vertual

Nate K.:

@Ultra, ha!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:55pm
Nate K.:

Well, the Knicks lost, so I guess I'll never mention them in the chat again...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17pm
ultradamno:

MES theorized that the Motown deal was blown because they sent them a copy of Hex Enduction Hour and that a certain early line in The Classical might have turned them off. I expect they didn't actually get that far into it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19pm
Nate K.:

I've heard that offered as an explanation. Can't exactly blame them if that's the case...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20pm
Nate K.:

But as you allude, I doubt they stood much of a shot anyway.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:28pm
ultradamno:

If they just gone sniffing around their own neighborhood they could have broken L Seven, Negative Approach and The Meatmen...
  10:40pm
Ignore Function:

In Paul Hanley's book about making Hex Enduction Hour he discusses the interest from Motown.
  10:44pm
Ignore Function:

If I'm remembering correctly, he disputes that explanation.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:46pm
ultradamno:

I've read his book but don't recall what he said, though I expect he's more reliable than MES, who never let the truth get in the way of a good line.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53pm
Nate K.:

Thanks, folks. See you next time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:54pm
Nate K.:

Soporific but with a nice beat...
