in NYC, quite a few vegan "fast food" spots have opened up in recent years. it's grown at a very fast pace. i enjoy some of it! i try to avoid the stuff like fake chicken though. i'd much rather just eat a plate of beanz. i suppose if you are truly vegan, you are grateful to have it, however.

Yeah! I don't like the factory food idea of vegan. There's so many real alternatives to mimicking meat with muck. I'mean not even Vegetarian, but working on not eating meat ever or rarely. Cheese on the other hand I can't imagine not eating.

Yes! Scott, there is a documentary on WFMU's site, "don't think i've forgotten cambodia's lost rock and roll"! And, it's so interesting. The soundtrack is very good, but it all requires an even deeper dive. Pan Ron was a major figure.
