August 7th, i think was just a few days after living in the high desert for two months! Being in California was all unintentional, based on originally some occurrences were happening that made it seem like there would be a conflict between NK and Japan. i experience presentiment and somehow decided that I should drive to California that April to try and be closer and more sensitive to what might happen and could know ahead of time. Instead tensions did wind down and I was still there! I feel quite different currently than I did then, although personally i would defer to someone else who is more presentiment-sensitive than myself!

Welcome, Bliss and coelacanth∅
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 5:21pm Rich in Washington:

@Bliss: a series of wildfires are burning in the Gorge on The Columbia River. It's been unseasonably hot for the last several months and the other day, some kid threw fireworks into a wooded canyon, touching off a huge 33,000 acre blaze.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 5:22pm steve:

hey Kenzo, switching over and switching hemispheres from an afternoon of microprocessor + assembly podcasts.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 5:22pm Rich in Washington:

I'm in the Kubrick camp. I think giving people answers is bad art.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 5:27pm Alex In Illinois:

A brother-in-law in Oregon and cousin-In-Law in Montana report similar experiences as Rich in Washington - wildfires, ashy air.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 5:33pm Rich in Washington:

It was John Lennon! Over and over!
Avatar 9/6/17 5:33pm Bliss:

@northguineahills
What was gas going for? it's been over $3 here in NYC.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 5:34pm coelacanth∅:

it's cool that John Lennon took time out from being dead to call you during your show 4 years ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 5:34pm melinda:

hi all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 5:34pm Rich in Washington:

I'm now seeing those scary gas stories from Texas. It's Mad Max, but with Craigslist.
Avatar 9/6/17 5:35pm Bliss:

"Welcome, Bliss..."
Thanks, Kenzo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 5:36pm melinda:

The pics I see of the flaming Columbia River Gorge are really sad. It's one of those places I'd wanted to visit someday.
Avatar 9/6/17 5:36pm northguineahills:

@Bliss: it was $2.22 11 days ago the last time I bought gas.
Avatar 9/6/17 5:37pm northguineahills:

Avatar 9/6/17 5:37pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

@coelacanth∅: Everything in its time. Oh, hi melinda!
Avatar 9/6/17 5:37pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Oh, bye, ngh!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 5:38pm Rich in Washington:

It looks really awful right now. I imagine it's going to be pretty ugly and dismal for a few years until some large brush grows. Ironically, it'll be even more susceptible to wildfires without the big trees keeping the moisture there.
Avatar 9/6/17 5:38pm Bliss:

@ Rich
Due to our hubris, expect more in the years ahead.
Avatar 9/6/17 5:39pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

It looks like I picked the right month to watch apocalpyse films. (Threads, Miracle Mile, Last Night, Blade Runner)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 5:39pm Rich in Washington:

I remember driving through the historic Tillamook Burn locations as a kid and even though it was 30-40 years on, you could still see blackened tree stumps.
Avatar 9/6/17 5:39pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

@Bliss, you might like Threads, it's a brutally, brutally realistic portrayal of what nuclear holocaust would look like
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 5:39pm Rich in Washington:

Last Night was great. I don't think I ever got to see Miracle Mile.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 5:40pm Rich in Washington:

I just recently tried to find Threads. I would like to see it again. It was so bleak.
Avatar 9/6/17 5:41pm Bliss:

@ Kenzo - Never heard of it. Thanks.
@ Everyone - I never saw Road either. How do they compare?
Avatar 9/6/17 5:41pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I actually had to stop watching Threads. It got really, really bad.
Avatar 9/6/17 5:42pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Miracle Mile! It's beautiful. See it! Music by Tangerine Dream.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 5:42pm Rich in Washington:

The one I really want to see again is the PBS movie Testament.
Avatar 9/6/17 5:42pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Huh, talking about the very same thing 4 years ago right now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 5:44pm melinda:

I like the Rosanna loop.
Avatar 9/6/17 5:45pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

@melinda: It keeps me in a specific pleasant childhood moment. Amidst collapse.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 5:46pm melinda:

@Rich I think I don't need to ever see that again.
Avatar 9/6/17 5:47pm Bliss:

"@ Everyone - I never saw Road either. How do they compare?"
I mean The Road.
Avatar 9/6/17 5:47pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Oh! Sandra, are you still here? I will be playing a bit from a 2003 Austin show, the first one I subbed for in your slot! Maybe your voice will be here after all. In 12 minutes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 5:48pm Rich in Washington:

TD did some peculiar movie soundtracks.
Avatar 9/6/17 5:49pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Miracle Mile has this amazing pacing. It just sits slowly in light romance for a long time, and ramps up suddenly to a real-time collapse of the city/civilization. It's amazing and has some really gorgeous scenery.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 5:51pm Rich in Washington:

I think Melancholia is the most introspective of all the collapse/end of the world movies.
Avatar 9/6/17 5:52pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

@possibilitywaves: Coming up, bits where you were there
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 5:53pm Rich in Washington:

Oh, the director of Miracle Mile comes from Longview Washington, a town nearby mine that no one ever comes from.
Avatar 9/6/17 5:54pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I chatted with him recently. He's been promoting a DVD re-release.
Avatar 9/6/17 5:54pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Took him all of the 80's to get the film made, because of the not-happy ending
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 5:56pm Rich in Washington:

It's added to my list of films to watch this weekend. Thanks, Kenzo!
Avatar 9/6/17 5:56pm Bliss:

Okay, I guess The Road is not in that league. I don't know.
Avatar 9/6/17 5:58pm Bliss:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 6:13pm melinda:

That was a great part in the Royal Tenenbaums
Avatar 9/6/17 6:15pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 6:16pm Rich in Washington:

Oh. I see I added Threads to my Vimeo watch later list but haven't gotten around to watching it yet.
Avatar 9/6/17 6:17pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

So, Vangelis. The Bounty. I loved that film. Simple, but this gripping focus. No small thanks to Vangelis. But also Anthony Hopkins. Not as simple/wonderful as The Duelists (Ridley Scott)

I have one of the carts. It's perfect. I don't even want to play it. I also have a postcard from Don. When he sent it to me, with a bunch of CDs, it also came with extra cigarette smoke smells. Really strong. I had to place all of it near a window for a couple of days.

I love Street Hassle.

The archive of today's version of 4 years' ago's show will be posted 15 minutes after the show is done, soon!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 6:49pm coelacanth∅:

Thanks Kenzo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 6:50pm Rand al'Thor:

Thank you, Kenzo. Neat to hear one of my favorite episodes again.
Avatar 9/6/17 6:50pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Thanks this year to: geezerette, northguineahills the former, possibilitywaves, Sandra the former, Rich in Washinton, Bliss, coelacanth0, steve, Alex in Illinois, melinda, Carmichael, and Rand al'Thor!
Avatar 9/6/17 6:50pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

This is a lost/forgotten one for me. I didn't attach to it because I can't find the theme. But it's fully immersive, I like it again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 6:51pm Rich in Washington:

reading 4 year ago comments. I still haven't watched Royal Tenenbaums again.
Avatar 9/6/17 6:51pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Thanks to my phone text-only friends from here and there
  9/6/17 6:52pm possibilitywaves:

I did miss this 2013 show apparently although thankfully not many others that year! Now feels to have been time to experience each layer, with more to happen soon!
Avatar 9/6/17 6:52pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I decided not to do a playlist comments interleve. Playlisting was hard enough.
Avatar 9/6/17 6:52pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

@possibilitywaves: And with some new layers this time!
Avatar 9/6/17 6:53pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

After this fades out, we'll spend a few minutes with an ouro tune before Bodega Pop Live begins.

Love is all you need, but a good pair of needle-nose pliers comes in handy.
Avatar 9/6/17 6:53pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Parq! Thanks for loving, friends.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 6:53pm Rand al'Thor:

This is also one of the first episodes of KLERE that I heard.
Avatar 9/6/17 6:54pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Feel free to email me (lastever.org...) or FB like (www.facebook.com...) or favorite clicky star this episode and the whole program

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 6:56pm Gary:

OMG, I love this Wax Audio thing!
Avatar 9/6/17 6:57pm geezerette:

OW!
Avatar 9/6/17 6:57pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I truly love this song. Figured there was plenty of John Lennon today.
Avatar 9/6/17 6:58pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Laura and me
Avatar 9/6/17 6:58pm geezerette:

Jr., less nuts than current occupant.
Avatar 9/6/17 6:59pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Yeah, I miss Bush, he was fun
Avatar 9/6/17 6:59pm geezerette:

Brilliant. :D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9/6/17 6:59pm Gary:

Wax Audio also does a Bush version of Imagine (that I imagine you probably have, too)
Avatar 9/6/17 6:59pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

(bows)
Avatar 9/6/17 7:00pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Jah, I have Imagine
Avatar 9/6/17 7:00pm geezerette:

Hahaha!
  9/6/17 7:00pm possibilitywaves:

Yes; the Plastic Ono Band album could have been released this year and it would not seem out of place. It is very vitally attuned to a larger undercurrent of human culture!
Avatar 5:01pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Oh here's everytime
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01pm ParUbi:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm doctorjazz:

Hi.is this the right page?
Avatar 5:18pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

It feels like it could be. What is your right?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:22pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Hello. The idea I had today is that each playlist could have a virtual tip jar and if you like the show, you click it and it sends the DJ actual money. I imaging there must be a fatal flaw in there somewhere.
Avatar 5:25pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Eek, main flaw is we're not doing this for money
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:26pm ParUbi:

Well, it might encourage satisfying people's pre-given preferences, which is not necessarily something we need more of
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:26pm ParUbi:

I think people need to gain distance from what they already prefer sometimes
Avatar 5:26pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Next thing you know, people will start renting out their spare rooms and couches (and pay a third-party Silicon Valley a ton of money) instead of letting people stay over for free.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27pm ParUbi:

Air-couch!
Avatar 5:30pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Maybe a virtual yell jar
Avatar 5:37pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

And finally, some expressions you may need in an emergency
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Maybe the kind folks at Spotify would be interested in the tip idea.
Avatar 5:42pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Oh yeah they could use a few million more dollars to keep from artists
Avatar 5:43pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

(they don't need tips, they need an actual cut of the gazillions already being siphoned instead of trickling pennies)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01pm Carmichael:

Heya Kenzo, master of cyberspace.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:02pm Rich in Washington:

I still still haven't seen the Royal Tennenbaums again again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:02pm ParUbi:

I've seen it 1.5 times, I think
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:02pm Rich in Washington:

Carmichael, you made the best comment related comment earlier today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06pm ParUbi:

Can you feel it when a future version of your self is thinking about you?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06pm ParUbi:

@Rich-- what was the comment comment? Meta-comment? Did he mention mentioning?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm Rich in Washington:

The meta-comment comment which seemed to be an argument for commenting.
Avatar 6:08pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

You win
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:08pm Rich in Washington:

re: someone commenting a lot about the pointlessness of commenting.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:08pm ParUbi:

But not a commentary on commenting about comments, which is what you're doing. Should we comment on comments?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:08pm ParUbi:

I mean in general, not specifically.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09pm Rich in Washington:

I often sleep to the 24 hour Over The Edge stream so I probably hear Vangelis' Heaven and Hell more than most people.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:10pm Carmichael:

Oops, my Lennon mute circuit just activated. It takes me 5 minutes or so to figure it out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm ParUbi:

They're constantly streaming that movie?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm Carmichael:

@Rich, I did? Guess it won't matter, since the trend is moving toward deleting comments ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm Rich in Washington:

That would be wonderful, wouldn't it?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:12pm ParUbi:

We need to leave as much information as possible so that future/alien anthropologists can figure out what went wrong (so terribly wrong)
Avatar 6:13pm northguineahills:

I thought I was here before....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:14pm Rich in Washington:

I'm not sure how that 'delete all the comments' thread started. I think it's since been deleted.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:14pm Carmichael:

Like those scientists in Sleeper who are trying to figure out the past.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:21pm chresti:

Haha ParUbi@6:06
Avatar 6:21pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I'll open up the delete comments feature to everyone
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:22pm chresti:

And Rich
Avatar 6:23pm northguineahills:

You have my permission to delete the comments I never made (that should make your job easy).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24pm Carmichael:

Also the delete user functionality, Kenzo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24pm chresti:

Maybe instead of deleting comments you could e-mail them to a random person
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:26pm ParUbi:

Print them out, manila-envelope them to Julian Assange?
Avatar 6:27pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I guess he's a hoarder
Avatar 6:29pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Oh, hi! ParUbi, chresti, Carmiachel, northguineahills, Rich in Washington, Ken From Hyde Park, doctorjazz... Where are the manners I never found?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30pm chresti:

Yes, send them to Julian, with a TOP SECRET stamped on it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30pm Rich in Washington:

Hi chresti!
Avatar 6:30pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

There is an explanation for this, you know
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm chresti:

Hi Rich!
