I don't care if Derrick Rose is injured, Noah vs Lopez '13 is as big a mismatch as Tim Duncan vs Kurt Thomas '99. Prediction: Nets get eliminated tonight and Dwight Howard moves to Brooklyn. If I'm wrong, then Chris Bosh averages 40 rebounds a game in the second round. And then Dwight Howard moves to Montclair.

The opening track of an album that truly terrified - and continues to terrify - my 13 year old self. An incredibly well-crafted song that melts your face. Rest In Peace Jeff.

It's been a little over 24 hours since The Brooklyn Philharmonic debuted my piece, and I'm still reeling. For the first time in a long time I have nothing to say about it EXCEPT that it was amazing, Blaisey Blaise & Eric Slick rule, Randy Woolf is a genius, and video will be up soon. And even better - there is more where that came from.

Gonna blast "Reign In Blood" right now. Shit.
Slayer is devastated to inform that their bandmate and brother, Jeff Hanneman, passed away at about 11AM this morning near his Southern California home. Hanneman was in an area hospital when he suffered liver failure. He is survived by his wife Kathy, his sister Kathy and his brothers Michael and Larry, and will be sorely missed.

Tonight The Brooklyn Philharmonic will be premiering my piece "Bad Doggie". String quartet, odd-time signatures, spooky/sexy/silly lyrics sung by Blaisey Blaise, dissonance, impossible drum-parts played by Eric Slick (Robin Slick Julie Slick), shouting, bass by yours truly, and straight up rocking. Proof that though you need to behave seriously to be treated seriously, that doesn't mean you always have to ACT seriously. Galapagos Art Space in BK. 16 Main St. Doors @ 7pm. Show @ 8pm. www.bphil.org. w/ Toshi Reagon, Hadi Eldebek, Alan Pierson (Alarm Will Sound), & the badass we call Randy Woolf. Meow.

I was on the train when this happened. 2 and half hours from Greenpoint to Jersey City. You ever been waiting so long for something that you forget where you are, where you're going, why you're going, who you are?
PATH train service came to a grinding halt on at least three lines during the heart of rush hour Monday, creating maddening delays and a hellish commute for thousands.

Anybody with a van in NYC/BK wanna make $100 driving a band to and from Boston? Gas & tolls will be paid, and you will be fed. If you can help, please do.

Tomorrow I am honored to have The Brooklyn Philharmonic debut my piece for string quartet, vocals, drums, & bass. The piece is called "Bad Doggie". It's about the lameness of passive-agressive behavior, the silliness of sex, and man's eternal obsession with household pets. It features guest musicians Blaisey Blaise & Eric Slick (of Dr. Dog). Musically it is influenced by Time of Orchids (Chuck Stern Eric Fitzgerald Keith Abrams David Bodie), Nick Didkovsky, Ron Anderson, Randy Woolf, The B-52's, AC/DC, Stravinsky, George Harrison, Shudder To Think (Craig Wedren Nathan Larson), and Mookie & Ashes. Hope you can come and check out my arena rock/classical/prog madness. www.bphil.org. Galapagos Art Space. 16 Main St in BK. Doors at 7pm. Show at 8pm. $20. Ruff ruff.

Quite cool
Paul Green, of School of Rock fame, has a raspy voice and man-child ways that make his cinematic doppelganger Jack Black look like a naïf. He bounds about Todd Rundgren’s old Utopia Studios, reading inspiring notes from his iPhone or leaping onto the stage to thrash out some licks to the music he’s…

TONIGHT on "Minor Music", the dudes from CHASING ROCKETS will be stopping by to pummel the people with the power of their pop. Elsewhere I'll be playing songs from the oddly-titled CAPTAIN LUNG, everyone's favorite band SUPERCUTE! I am very bummed that I never got to see The Molecules.
Dirty, loud, obnoxious, avant, experiment prog-punk that was The Molecules. This version of “Tour For The Door” was recorded in 1996 with Ryo on ba...
