	♥ 4:23pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000: Vegan versions of traditional Finnish Xmas foods: Casseroles (beetroot, sweet potato, rutabaga), Rosolli (a salad with pickled cucumbers, beetroot, carrots etc.) plus some DIY Seitan "ham". A pity there's no vegan carrot or potato casseroles available at local shops. I was lazy & didn't want to cook around xmas, the said "ham" being a notable exception.

	♥ 4:31pm Photocopy Cha Cha 2000: @4:26 Paper Kosmonaut: Well, I'm not vegan either but usually try and avoid dairy products, eggs etc. That said, if there's "reduced to clear" vegetarian food (with dairy-based ingredients) at the grocery shop destined to be thrown away after the shop's closed, I see nothing wrong buying such stuff - the less edible food is being thrown away the better.

	🍷 ♥ 4:39pm Paper Kosmonaut: Food-wise: Yesterday, I ate a “Kerst-eierbal”. An eierbal (egg-ball) looks a lot like a scotch egg . Fried, coated in breadcrumbs but instead of mince around the egg it’s ragout. It is very regional, nowhere else in the Netherlands they have this particular snack. This Xmas eierbal was made with a ragout from British origin. Turkey, sage, thyme, and was very tasty. Not a substantial meal, though. (-;

That's Rosolli. (I assume you're vegan - but don't worry pickled herring isn't necessary, I always preferred Rosolli without it.)

A pity there's no vegan carrot or potato casseroles available at local shops. I was lazy & didn't want to cook around xmas, the said "ham" being a notable exception.

Fried, coated in breadcrumbs but instead of mince around the egg it’s ragout. It is very regional, nowhere else in the Netherlands they have this particular snack. This Xmas eierbal was made with a ragout from British origin. Turkey, sage, thyme, and was very tasty. Not a substantial meal, though. (-;
