Ridgewood Radio features concert recordings by adventurous bands and experimental musicians and restored archival tapes from private and institutional collections captured at venues large and small across the five boroughs of New York. It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

Listener comments!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00pm listener james from westwood:

Underappreciated Bond theme right here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01pm david w:

james, hey!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01pm listener james from westwood:

Bond parodies go for the horns of Goldfinger or the oomph of Thunderball, but this one is just sweet and, having seen the film, sad.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:06pm WR:

Hi folks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:07pm david w:

Welcome, WR.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm david w:

@james: I think the Dances With Wolves soundtrack is brilliant, the Bond surf guitar long left behind (but what's not to love?).
Avatar 5:17pm gailvachon:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:06pm Jeff Golick:

Was Lewis playing trombone on that one, david w?
  6:06pm northguineahills:

Fell asleep in my car. Trying to get decent car insurance. For some reason I was paying $100s of dollars more then my bros, and I haven’t had a ticket in 20 years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm david w:

Ah, chresti. Hello!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:08pm coelacanth∅:

hey chresti!
  6:08pm northguineahills:

Earle Brown. I need to tell my friend not to sell my Earle Brown rekkids! (Nice heads up, david).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:08pm david w:

  6:09pm northguineahills:

Avatar 6:10pm spodiodi:

hi David!
hi everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm david w:

hi, spodi!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:14pm WR:

What I am hearing is that you just back announced the Goebbels, etc. and started playing the George Lewis. Is my stream really that far behind the playlist?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:17pm david w:

Hmm. Weird. Earle Brown now?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18pm chresti:

Hey coel!
Hi spodi!
\\ //
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:18pm WR:

Yep, I had to stop for a bit to take a call. When I started play the back announce etc. was likely in the local buffer, now it hopped forward to the Brown, whatever, sorry to clutter with my device details.
Avatar 6:20pm spodiodi:

\\// hi hi, chresti!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:20pm chresti:

Gonna be listening in the shower...
WR!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:20pm david w:

Thanks, WR. No worries. If I mess up or the stream does, it is good to know.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:26pm david w:

To be clear, Eastman's comments were recorded many years before this performance.
  6:27pm northguineahills:

Julius Eastman. Although dj spooky was an ass to my friends, he was the one that exposed me to Eastman’s work. Good to finally see his works recorded.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29pm david w:

Amen, ngh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:38pm WR:

Spodiodi & chresti, you've influenced me to use \/ in passwords.
Avatar 6:39pm gailvachon:

"Eine Feste Burg" - Marin Luther in there!
Avatar 6:47pm gailvachon:

What is this background woozing in song, so familiar? Some hymn? It's on the tip of my tongue.
Avatar 6:48pm gailvachon:

Of course! A Mighty Fortress! We sang it in Girls' Choir.
  6:49pm ruth:
