Avatar 3:08pm Hoboken Jack:

Holl-o TOPT, Ruth, Scott K, Cheryl, Gaylord, HP Ken, Handy, jn34382, all King Midases in reverse!
Avatar 3:09pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

There is one very tiny upside to The Hollies not finding the place in the Chart Market between Pop hysterix & Rawk rebels that should have made them in the small handful of The Beatles' chief Creative & Commercial challengers
- & that is that there are so many astonishing trax like these that I have had no idea about yet !!!
  3:09pm jn34282:

Hey jack whats up
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm Gaylord Fields:

@Nutley Sam: You can't let go of the Hollies song title puns.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm Handy Haversack:

We touch gold and turn it into us, Jack? I'll take it!
Avatar 3:10pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Very good point @Revolution Rabbit Nov63: Most of these songs sound so incredibly fresh partly as a result of not being overplayed. And partly as a result of being great!
  3:10pm winston legthigh:

oh happy day todd-o-phonic-todd, groovy ppl!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm Gaylord Fields:

@Handy: Like some sort of backwards-working King Midas, one might say.
Avatar 3:10pm Nutley Sam:

@Gaylord That's how I know I'm alive
  3:11pm jn34282:

@Todd if you can, could you ask bobby elliott the story behind the air that i breath, thanks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm Handy Haversack:

winston! Kate was long in getting back from band practice, so we're skipping errands and moving straight into the cocktail hour -- more proof of Jack's reverse Midas theory, Gaylord!
Avatar 3:12pm OnTheTrain:

Todd: Ou Va-T-Elle ! !!
  3:14pm Steve Harsh:

Great point RevRabbit! Loving these tunes!

As a huge and longtime Hollies fan, I gotta say it's very heartening how much love and appreciation they're getting on WFMU these days!

cheers kate and handy! my goal is to stay buzzed until sunday night, not very ambitious but a worthwhile endeavor nonetheless.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm Handy Haversack:

Follow your bliss, winston!
  3:16pm jn34282:

@Gaylord because their songs were not played to hell and back like the Beatles were
Avatar 3:16pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

  3:17pm winston legthigh:

happy day 2u pseu
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm HyperDose:

P.S. Thanks for filling in this week Todd. It was a pleasure to listen!
  3:18pm Monica:

This could be one of the most underrated songs ever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm Gaylord Fields:

@jn34282: Perhaps so, but it's only the same dozen or so Beatles songs that have gotten overexposed. I'd like to think it's just that the high quality of the Hollies' output speaks for itself, irrespective of other acts' relative popularity.
Avatar 3:20pm Nutley Sam:

No comprehensive Hollies box, correct? With mono UK LPs EPs and singles. Hollies and Herman's Hermits deserve the deluxe treatment. HH have a Bear Family box with dubious sound quality.
  3:20pm jn34282:

@Gaylord very true, just to this day when i hear those over played songs by the beatles i switch to something else
  3:21pm winston legthigh:

whatever condition my condition is in its all smiles wakin snd bakin with u monday morning hyperdose
Avatar 3:22pm Woo:

Is Dave Clark still holding on tight to the DC5 catalogue?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm Gaylord Fields:

@jn34282: I guess my point is let's appreciate the Hollies for being the Hollies instead of who they aren't.
Avatar 3:22pm Nutley Sam:

EMI producer Ron Richards helped make these sound amazing. RR is underrated.
Avatar 3:23pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Another point about that - The Hollies were on the scene very early ! Tracks back to '63...
Avatar 3:24pm Nutley Sam:

I love the way he says "Soupy Sales"
Avatar 3:25pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Nutley Sam: The 6 cd Clarke/Graham/Hicks 1963-68 box is really fantastic though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm Handy Haversack:

Is TDK60 here? He mentioned seeing the Hollies at a Soupy Sales review.
  3:27pm jn34282:

@Gaylord i do appreciate the hollies a lot
Avatar 3:28pm Nutley Sam:

@Todd agreed!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm Ken From Hyde Park:

He mentioned Dave Brubeck, which reminds me that DJ Stork will be featuring him on his show tomorrow at noon on the Drummer stream.
Hello, Jack. This show will brighten a cold, damp Saturday afternoon.
Avatar 3:28pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...across the corridor !!
...working in the mines !!
...gahhhh...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm Gaylord Fields:

@jn34282: You've got good taste in music!

@Todd @Sam: That set is essential and very reasonably priced — especially for those who want a way into the Hollies beyond the hit singles.
  3:34pm jn34282:

@Gaylord thanks i do listen to this station
Avatar 3:35pm Nutley Sam:

I always recommend the EP Collection on See For Miles to beginners
Avatar 3:37pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Barely know the name Ron Richards @ all. He Produced these - I'll remember it now.
Avatar 3:37pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Bobby's book, "It Ain't Heavy, It's My Story: My Life In The Hollies" is published by Omnibus Press and available in the States.
  3:38pm jn34282:

@Todd will look for it at the library
Avatar 3:38pm Pseu Braun:

Nitty Gritty, wow!
Avatar 3:38pm Nutley Sam:

Anyone disagree that JK & the Pirates top the list of least-known/most influential ratio?
Avatar 3:39pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I did however always love the drumming in The Hollies !
Avatar 3:40pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Nutley Sam: I got to see the Johnny Kidd-less Pirates at Hurrah and they were still fantastic.
Avatar 3:41pm Nutley Sam:

@Todd wow!
Avatar 3:41pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Pirates a model for TheWho of course... & so about everything...
Avatar 3:43pm Nutley Sam:

Haha! Thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm Frank In Queens:

Very much looking forward to this interview!
  3:44pm jn34282:

@Rev wonder if they trashed their instruments like the who did
  3:45pm Monica C:

Shakin All Over brings out the Eartha Kitt in me.
Avatar 3:46pm Nutley Sam:

Clem Catinni's book is interesting, covers the first Pirates lineup and the Tornadoes
Avatar 3:47pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...& an important British band that had nothing to do with The Beatles...
Reminded of Lennon quipping that smashing instruments was not something Townshend invented in Art School - it's what Musicians do when an Instrument has gone crap or whatever. Jerry Lee set his piano on fire - chopped it with hatchets...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm Gaylord Fields:

Ron Richards' strengths as a producer was in getting that great sound you hear on Hollies records. His weakness was in some of his curious song choices and decisions (i.e., the A&R part of the job).
Avatar 3:49pm ChasG:

I haven't listened to the Hollies much lately, used to...a lot. Terrific BEAT & HARMONY!!! Thanks for reminding me.
  3:50pm Dj Nico:

Hiya all! 💗
  3:50pm jn34282:

@ChasG this is why i love this station hearing gems like this and just soaking the knowledge up
Avatar 3:51pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

DJ Nico! Canada calling!
Avatar 3:52pm Nutley Sam:

If Suzanne, Jennifer, Carrie-Anne, Eloise and Fifi the Flea ever compare notes, there's gonna be trouble.
  3:52pm Ed From Jersey City:

Hello from Stockton, CA.
Avatar 3:52pm ChasG:

@djnico Hey! :) @jn34282 Yup!
Avatar 3:53pm Nutley Sam:

@Gaylord, that's interesting, do you know his background?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:53pm JG:

PowPowPow. It's friggin blustery out
Avatar 3:53pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Peter Sellers ! :D
...so not quite like the yARdbiRdS & Mickie Most - but you can see it from there...
Avatar 3:54pm Hoboken Jack:

I don't whose show I heard "After the Fox" on a ton of years ago but I immediately had to own it!
Avatar 3:56pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Brit Ekland...after the fox indeed...
  3:57pm Frank Zaatar:

After the Fox was one of Peter Sellers' funniest movies--kind of forgotten nowadays. Of course Sellers was notoriously unfunny ILR.
  3:58pm Frank Zaatar:

*IRL*
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Gaylord Fields:

@Nutley Sam: I've been reading up on Ron Richards, which shouldn't surprise you. He started out as Geo. Martin's assistant. One of the curious choices was assigning "Lullaby to Tim" — Graham's very personal song about his son — to Allan to sing, and then making them all Leslie'd up. Also, he didn't encourage more L. Ransford songwriting, with his relegating their own songs to B-sides.
Avatar 3:59pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

The Goons are mind bending & the Fathers of us all.
Avatar 4:00pm Scott C.:

Gilbert Gottfried loves "After The Fox" and never misses a chance to sing it on his podcast. Just the slightest reference to ATF and he's off to the races!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm medson:

Hey Todd and everyone. Loving the show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm Chop Scott:

I'll take a Whiskey Mac please!
Avatar 4:01pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Three track recording : Beatles' 1st album so primitive it can't really be mixed for Stereo !
Avatar 4:02pm Nutley Sam:

@Gaylord, interesting, thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm Gaylord Fields:

@Revolution Rabbit Nov63: Ron Richards was the actual producer of "Love Me Do"/"PS I Love You," as GM couldn't be arsed.
Avatar 4:03pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

:D !
...not yet!
Avatar 4:04pm Scott C.:

Quotable quotes - Bobby Elliott to Todd: "You know your stuff."
Avatar 4:05pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Three Part Harmony - one more than The Beatles or bYRdS most often troubled with. Beach Boys another matter ! This alone distinguishes The Hollies among Rawkbands...
Avatar 4:05pm Scott C.:

Hmmm. Nutley Sam, working blue with his avatar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06pm Gaylord Fields:

Who wants to join me in a daring international caper to liberate that "Yes I Will" demo from Bobby's cupboard?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm Handy Haversack:

Always up for a caper, Gaylord!
Avatar 4:07pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

After The Trax
  4:07pm Dj Nico:

Chas, Frank, Todd! This is so great 💗
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm Handy Haversack:

Though right *now* I'm going to start cooking the Crescent Roll Surprise. Will be listening still, though!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm Gaylord Fields:

Bobby's "Haha, 'Larry'" is my favorite response so far!
  4:09pm franz:

and suddenly the saturday night in lockdown is FUN again!
Good job Todd!
Avatar 4:11pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@franz: Thanks! I am wearing my wonderful Wild Honey Records socks!
Avatar 4:11pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Here are these gems of Vocal Gittar Pop - & I always noted the drums !
  4:12pm jn34282:

To hell with college football, this is more interesting
Avatar 4:12pm ChasG:

Good goin' Todd! Bobby's impressed with your whippersnapper knowledge!
Avatar 4:12pm Nutley Sam:

I remember Hugh Grundy of the Zombies saying something like "I was ok, but Bobby Elliot was a real drummer."
  4:12pm Richard Whig:

this is so ace!!
Avatar 4:13pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

I fooled another one!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm Gaylord Fields:

I know that Max Weinberg is pretty much obsessed with Bobby and always name-drops him as one of his primary drumming role models.
Avatar 4:13pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- & The Zombies were GOOD. (Drums on Time of Season??)
  4:14pm franz:

@todd that makes me happy!
Little story behind those: one of the Bee Bee Sea guys work in the hosiery of Vans here in Italy
and sometimes he can sneak in skme of those...
  4:14pm Richard Whig:

I prefer to be happy and delusional than smart and miserable!
Avatar 4:15pm ChasG:

Love the guitar sound. Sounds like the strings are made out of rebar!
Avatar 4:17pm Hoboken Jack:

R.I.P. Squiggy
  4:18pm Dennis Diken:

Total gasser Todd-O, so glad you made this happen!
Avatar 4:18pm ChasG:

No! Squiggy? :(
Avatar 4:19pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

The microphones - boards with tubes - another world !
...From exploring the minutiae of The Beatles - know that Abbey Road was primitive compared to Atlantic in the USA with Tom Dowd or what Wilson had in LA - but they were quite damn Professional. Very British. Known for recording Orchestras there...
Avatar 4:20pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Happy you are tuned in Dennis!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm Handy Haversack:

Dang. RIP.
Avatar 4:20pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Vocals like a Horn Section. Yeah damn.
  4:20pm Jett:

I ❤️ Evie Sands. thanks for playing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:21pm Pedro in Arlington:

Keep having this dream that Todd is on the radio every dang day. Insane.
  4:23pm jn34282:

@Todd thank you for this kick ass show today
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm Gaylord Fields:

On songs like "Yes I Will" Bobby does fills I've never heard another drummer do before or since!
  4:25pm Dennis Diken:

@Gaylord - re unique fills - the mark of greatness, to be sure!
Avatar 4:25pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@jn34282: You're welcome! @Pedro in Arlington: Some might call that a nightmare!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm Gaylord Fields:

@DD: As you would know, in your modesty.
Avatar 4:26pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...like Ringo's loped left handed Pop song accents - with Jazz added...maybe...
  4:26pm Andres:

Squiggy was up there with Fonzie for me. For a grade 3 letter writing project I wrote to David Lander and for my efforts received an autographed headshot. I remember those shows and syndication fondly.
  4:26pm David in London:

Bloody marvellous Hollies blow out today. Thanks Todd-o-Phonic.
Avatar 4:27pm Nutley Sam:

May I specifically call out the fill after the first line of the last verse of Look Through Any Window?
  4:27pm Dennis Diken:

@Gaylord pshaw....
  4:28pm Dennis Diken:

the coolness of Bobby’s playing cannot be overstated
Avatar 4:28pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Perfection.
  4:29pm Jett:

I'd be disappointed back then if I was expecting to see Britt Ekland.
Avatar 4:29pm Scott C.:

Will you be playing my favorite Hollies song "King Midas In Reverse"? Watch, with my luck I just killed any chance there was...
Avatar 4:29pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

He's like a metrical Moon here. HiHat going...machine gun pop...
  4:30pm Jett:

I'm partial to "Bus Stop" myself.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30pm Gaylord Fields:

Bobby Elliott's inimitable drumming may very well be the reason there aren't Hollies tribute bands.
Avatar 4:31pm Woo:

Stunning
Avatar 4:31pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I'd like to get a Clem Burke quote on Elliot...
Avatar 4:32pm Nutley Sam:

Hollies tribute band: The Buddies
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32pm Matt Fiveash:

The live stuff on this box set is so great! That live version of Jennifer Eccles is my exhibit A for Bobby's greatness... Thanx for doing this Todd.
Avatar 4:32pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Damn that's almost Mitch Mitchell.
  4:33pm Dennis Diken:

@Gaylord - good point! Hey, did anyone see The Hollies at The Bottom Line (w Graham in tow), I think it was ‘85? man...
  4:33pm (another) Patrick in Hoboken:

Great show, great interview Todd!
Avatar 4:34pm Nutley Sam:

@DD was that the Stop! In The Name Of Love tour?
  4:36pm Dennis Diken:

@Nutley Sam - yes indeed! the band members were all hanging out between shows, totally approachable
Avatar 4:37pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Avatar 4:37pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

You're welcome Matt!
Avatar 4:38pm Joe B:

Nash was back with them in 1983-84 I believe. Internet has that Bottom Line gig in August 1983. I seem to recall a Radio City show after the album was out the next year? not sure
Avatar 4:39pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Welcome to Amurika...
  4:39pm jn34282:

@DD unlike the stones who thought their shit did not stink
  4:44pm Jett:

Now a lot of them are Abandoned Luncheonettes.

  4:52pm Morgan:

great show
Avatar 4:52pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

  4:58pm Mr C:

What an engaging, fun guy...Nice work Todd..
Avatar 4:59pm Nutley Sam:

On a side note, that 45 of I Can't Let Go you played sounded remarkable. Every copy I've had (or heard) in considerably more muffled.
Avatar 5:00pm Woo:

I love this song. Long Dark Road. Thank you so much Todd for this show.
Avatar 5:01pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Todd the Interviewer !
Thanks Bobby Elliot ! Didn't think I could like The Hollies more !
Avatar 5:02pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

again I think "Long Dark Road" retains its power because it is not heard all that often. Either way it is a great song, but it helps maintain maximum impact that way.
  5:02pm Monica C:

Todd, you outdid yourself on this one. Very moving interview and playlist. I am humbled.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:02pm Mike Sin:

Great interview! So many fantastic tracks from the "Terry Sylvester" years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:05pm Gaylord Fields:

I miss playing the old schoolyard games of my childhood, like "Cowboys & Indians," "Cops & Robbers," and "Janitors & Monitors"!
  5:05pm ol' bickham:

How many rock/pop songs have a kettle drum solo? Artistic genius.
  5:05pm Jett:

Stop Stop Stop, King Midas, Dear Eloise, He Ain't Heavy, some other big hits we may hear???
  5:06pm Dennis Diken:

Hey, does Tony Hicks sing the second verse on “Carrie Ann”? If so, why in heck didn’t he sing lead more often??
Avatar 5:06pm Nutley Sam:

@DD yes and um...I don't know!
Avatar 5:07pm Nutley Sam:

Also sings the bridge on LTAW: "You can see the little children all around"
  5:07pm Space cowboy:

Long dark road is great
  5:07pm jn34282:

@Jett i am in heaven with all these hollies songs, IMPRESSED
Avatar 5:07pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I copied a Hollies CD called 'Not the Hits Again!' onto cassette - which is a good credo to carry - even into the present with WFMU !
...Ironically - The Hollies are actually a band whose Hits I'm generally delighted to hear !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:07pm Gaylord Fields:

@DD: Yep, that's Tony. And I like his lead vocals on the derided-by-some "Pegasus" — so ingenuous and fragile.
  5:08pm T from New B:

Thank you Todd for yet another incredible contribution to the archiving of essential cultural history. The Library of Congress should accept your shows into their library of significant cultural documents that all future generations should treasure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:08pm Brian D:

Where else are you going to hear a great interview like that, followed by great music, other than FMU? Nowhere! Thanks, Todd. You have me and missus singing and dancing along today.
  5:09pm Space cowboy:

I hope dear Eloise is in the mix
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10pm Corey:

Chiming in to join the chorus of praise for today's show. Enjoying the heck out of it.
Avatar 5:11pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Hollies manager Michael Cohen owned a boutique called The Toggery...and managed The Toggery Five to help promote it!
  5:11pm Space cowboy:

Romany album pretty good thanks ophonic love this great job!
  5:12pm Dennis Diken:

@Nutley Sam - really! didn’t know that re LTAW, thanks, and thanks Gaylord for the info
  5:12pm Space cowboy:

Ophonic the last bastion of rock and roll
Avatar 5:12pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...toggery jiggery...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm Frank In Queens:

For anyone who has not seen it, the Eagle Vision/Reelin' In The Years DVD of The Hollies from 2011 is absolutely killer.

  5:21pm Pap Is Shite:

Worst Hollies song?
Avatar 5:21pm Nutley Sam:

@Dennis Any idea what snare Bobby used? So distinctive.
  5:22pm Miles:

I picked up an American copy of the Jennifer 45 recently. sounds great - ha "Hawaiian guitar"
Avatar 5:23pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Nutley Sam: Bobby does go into his gear and his regret and signing certain promotional deals in regards to it in the book.
Avatar 5:23pm ChasG:

Good Toggery info! "I'd Rather Be With The Boys."
Avatar 5:23pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Nash story of David Crosby visiting England very early on (no doubt with a parcel from the West Coast) - & Cros telling off a Journalist for asking Nash dumb questions - & Graham's whole perception of 'the game' pivoting...
Avatar 5:23pm Nutley Sam:

@Todd thanks!
  5:24pm Richard Whig:

man, I could listen to this all day. great conversation and a catalog with a virtual bottomless supply of top shelf material!! bravo!!
  5:25pm Andrew in Toronto:

A Hall Of Fame show, again Todd.
Many thanks.
  5:26pm Jett:

I like their early take on "A Taste Of Honey" also.
Avatar 5:26pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Sounds soo Everly.
Avatar 5:27pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Is duh.
  5:27pm jn34282:

@Jett are you talking about that movie a taste of honey?
Avatar 5:29pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Revolution Rabbit Nov63: Well I first posted as Hollies by mistake.
Avatar 5:30pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

:D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:32pm Frank In Queens:

I was going to say, "where's that loud overdubbed guitar riff between lines on the verse of Have You Ever Loved Somebody?" Then Todd fixed the playlist!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:33pm officina:

Bravo Todd.
  5:33pm Monica C:

I’m not crying. You’re crying.
Avatar 5:34pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Joe B: Elton may have actually played piano on "Two Yanks In England" session as well.
Avatar 5:35pm Joe B:

did not know that!
  5:35pm Dennis Diken:

@Nutley Sam, couldn’t say, would need to check some pics. anyway, it’s all in the wrists...
  5:36pm Andres:

A beautiful song. Before I ever heard it, He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother was a gag in Mad magazine featuring President Jimmy Carter piggybacking Billy.
Avatar 5:36pm Nutley Sam:

@Andres me too!
Avatar 5:37pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

(...gittarist gestures to gittar just sitting in the stand - asks - well - how's it sound now?...)
  5:40pm Andres:

@Nutley Sam: Mad magazine in the hands of a child. So many cultural references it took me years to catch up to.
  5:40pm Will:

"Man with No Expression" is the same song as "No Expression" which was written and recorded by Terry Reid on his first record, released in US as BANG BANG YOU'RE TERRY REID.
Avatar 5:46pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Will: One time I was trying to get Terry Reid on stage and he was looking at a mirror and primping. I said, "You look great, don't ever change." He started cackling hysterically and said, "That's what Ronnie Woods told me!" (yes, he included the "s").
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm Handy Haversack:

Todd, I have been cooking for the past couple of hours -- but so have you! Really enjoying the show.
Avatar 5:48pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

What's for dinner, Handy?
Avatar 5:49pm Nutley Sam:

Just One Cook?
Avatar 5:50pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Nutley Sam: There you go again!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm Gaylord Fields:

I got my question answered!!! Thanks, Todd-o-phonic Todd!!!
Avatar 5:51pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Gaylord Fields: Thanks for your contribution!
Avatar 5:53pm elkeno:

yay birdwatcher!
  5:54pm MFlynn:

Todd, that was just fantastic!! Thanks so much for such a great interview and show!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm Gaylord Fields:

Todd, I'm honored to be a tiny part of a great, great show! I'm not sure how this interview could possibly have been better, except for being longer! What an enthralling three hours — thanks to both you and your guest!
  5:54pm Edward:

Great show, Todd. I have a whole new favorite band!
  5:54pm Will:

Great story Todd. My Terry Reid story: in 1969 I bought a ticket to the triple bill of John Mayall/Terry Reid/Taste in Washington DC, psyched for the Reid and Taste sets. When we arrived, there as no mention whatsoever of Taste, and Terry Reid was announced as "sick, could not make it." So we were stuck with two full hours of harmonica playing by Mayall and band from his TURNING POINT period; long way from what I wanted to see.
  5:55pm sufferwords:

So great Todd- thanks way too much
  5:55pm Morgan:

this was very educational
Avatar 5:55pm Nutley Sam:

Just great Todd!
  5:55pm Andres:

"Birds - the feathered kind." :) Great!
Thank you, Todd!!! A great feature show and interview!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55pm Gaylord Fields:

Tony kills it on "Hard, Hard Year"! Perfect choice to illustrate his understated guitar genius.
Avatar 5:56pm Pseu Braun:

Most enjoyable show, TOPT!
  5:56pm Monica C:

Epic.
  5:56pm Morgan:

thanks todd and gaylord
Avatar 5:57pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

@Gaylord: not since the backing vocals on the Tony Randall/Jack Klugman version of "You're So Vain" has there been anything so incongruous on a record as that guitar solo!
Avatar 5:58pm Todd-o-phonic Todd:

Thanks everyone! I'm going to try and send a copy of this show to Bobby and I'm sure he will blown away by your comments.
  5:58pm KWilde:

Great show - looking forward to listening again to the archive!
Avatar 5:58pm Joe B:

Avatar 6:04pm Scott C.:

I knew it. I knew it! One of the all time great shows and interviews and I got skunked on King Midas In Reverse by simply asking for it. I guess I was
asking for it! I'll get you yet, @TOPT.
