I'm +16hrs from you, does that change the chart?
Avatar 9:14pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Planetwatcher there is for everywhere. If we cast the Chart of Now for a specific Place then it could have a Rising Sign & Houses - & would be different @ different locations. But these planetary positions & aspects (angles between them) would be the same.

Wow, the lights flickered here too, just before you said that.
Avatar 👻 9:55pm hillzy:

the frow show pairs perfectly with cookie pie
Avatar 9:56pm Honeybear:

There's something about the combination of (relative) obscurity and fixed-schedule format (behind cinephobe.tv) - so when something comes up that piques your interest, it's like "now or (probably) never" - therefore, you just have to watch it!
  9:57pm Chris H:

I keep mistaking the bed music for the weather outside
Avatar 9:58pm Hams:

yep, it's perfect for these times. i wonder how long it's been around. yeah, you can pause it for a bit, but that's it.

Mr. Frisell.
  10:34pm ?:

East River Caviar is incredible - In The Garden is one of my favorite tunes off of their album :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51pm ParUbi:

I totally had this stuck in my head the other day
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55pm Blacktooth:

This is why I donate $$$ to WFMU: to hear a DJ say "I don't know the name of that song and I don't know the name of the album. It's just off of some cassette." I'm being serious when I say I love it.
  10:59pm Andal:

Jesse this bed music is torture man why you trying to make us all pee
  11:02pm ?:

i enjoy bed music to pee to
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02pm jj.:

well, i do the name of the album & the personnel, just not the year it was recorded or the proper song title. but it's by the great harold kelling!
Avatar 👻 11:04pm hillzy:

what is this magic chris kogos?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05pm Blacktooth:

Seriously JJ: not trying to be mean. I'm just speaking to the overall "randomness" of sounds that come from this radio station. It's what I genuinely respect. So much diversity and deep-crate-digging that we get into the outer realms. Where even proper documentation of the sounds starts to trail off.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07pm Franco Twinkie:

I really wanted to watch the Zappa doc last night as well, but all that jumping through hoops to get at it made me crazy. I gave up.
  11:09pm bo:

killer cut
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:09pm ZeeBee:

Watched the Zappa doc on friday with my parents, my dad was a fan in college, fun to share with them, I really enjoyed it and it has had me going through his music all weekend. Had some great jamming late last night to Joes Garage.
Greetings friends! Seems like ive been ending up in the Frow room a few weeks in a row, loving it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10pm McGroovey:

I was briefly pen pals with Tuli Kupferberg in the early '90s. I was too shy to keep it up. But he seemed like the sort of nice weirdo who would keep writing you back is long as you didn't seem like you wanted to kill anyone he knew. (I've never wanted to kill anyone at all, just to be clear).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10pm jj.:

oh, huh, i thought it was pretty streamlined to get it going from the page. only took a few clicks for me. watch.eventive.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12pm Franco Twinkie:

I saw the Mothers a lot during the Ruthie era. She was not to be believed. Controlled fury, a force of nature, and a hell of a lot of fun to watch.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13pm Fuzzy:

Hello everyone, listening and lurking while I surf --

Watched the Zappa doc the other night and enjoyed it -- nice to be able to watch and learn and help WFMU all at the same time, and easy enough to do: name, email address and payment info and I was on my way.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13pm Scott Williams:

@JJ, agreed, Ruth Underwood was the heart of the thing. Great to see Ian all growed up too. But the real shocker was FRANK ZAPPA KISSES BABIES
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:14pm Franco Twinkie:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:14pm Blacktooth:

"Weasels Ripped My Flesh" being one of my favorite Zappa albums. Not just because of the awesome title. But, the album itself is sound-collage mixing live-performance, vocal-acrobatics, blues skronk, hard rock guitar antics, orchestrated pop, schmaltzy locker room humor, finishing off with 2 solid minutes of wall-of-noise: literally an album years and years ahead of it's time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:14pm briania:

Ruth playing Black Page on piano was another highlight.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 11:15pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Loud, Frowed and proud!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15pm Franco Twinkie:

Maybe I'll give it another stab.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:17pm Scott Williams:

agreeing with Blacktooth and briania^^ Also loved seeing so much Pamela Zarubica footage -- tons of unseen stuff in there
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:17pm jj.:

yes to ruth on piano!! anybody know if there are any solo piano or piano-based albums of zappa material?

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:21pm Franco Twinkie:

That thing Frank does with his guitar when he bounces the signal across the channel kills me!
Avatar 11:21pm DktrFaustus:

Ahoy! Love Zappa, was just grooving to Hot Rats this weekend.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:22pm Ike:

It finally stopped raining. I went outside for a few minutes. It's really quiet out there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:22pm Blacktooth:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24pm Aitch:

Haven't heard this Zappa since my brother moved out of home 1976
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24pm Franco Twinkie:

When The Mothers premiered the Bongo Fury band at Clairmont collage, Ray Collins walked up the middle isle of the hall. It was like seen Moses part the Red Sea.
Avatar 11:27pm Honeybear:

love the cross-fade!
Avatar 11:28pm DktrFaustus:

The palace in Jogja is a fantastic place.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28pm Blacktooth:

@Franco: that's an amazing story. Ray was obviously more than just an "instrument" of Zappa's. Although he was storied for treating people as such. I think Ray was a bit of a muse, as he could do things that many others couldn't. Vocally and musically.... Just a theory.
Avatar 11:31pm DktrFaustus:

@Franco Must have been great to see them then.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32pm Franco Twinkie:

At the end of his life, Ray was homeless and a constant presence in the Clairmont Village. There is a picture of him hanging in a bakery on Indian Hill Blvd.
Avatar 11:34pm DktrFaustus:

A sad end, reminds me of Skip Spence.
