Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm Otis:

Slight sidetrack to 70s AM radio here for a couple of songs.
Avatar 12:12pm Mr Fab:

Tho i am now throughly in the cult of “Trout Mask Replica” the most excellent “Safe As Milk” was my gateway.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:12pm Otis:

I love both, so hard to pick.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm Franco Twinkie:

I especially like the gatefold photo by Guy Webster. Spooky has no match.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm ARRRRich in Washington:

I would go through these weird love/hate cycles with Trout Mask.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm Franco Twinkie:

The song not the album.
Avatar 12:21pm Mr Fab:

It occured to me recently that i dont understand why Jan’s show of old ‘78s is called “Sounds Under 64 Not Allowed.” I thought it referred to the year 1964, but just realized that makes no sense. Help?
  12:23pm Martinibomb:

64years and older
  12:24pm Martinibomb:

yeh he should have called it sounds over 77
Avatar 12:26pm Mr Fab:

Which would be like 1956, but then each year, the date goes up. So like next year he’ll have to change it to Sounds Under 65, etc.?
Avatar 12:27pm Mr Fab:

Overthinking this, I’m sure!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48pm rawvegetable:

Hello Otis!
12:51pm Dave in St Albans UK:

Hi Otis. Hope that all is well with you. I am enjoying the show enormously as usual. Otis music!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm Otis:

Hi Dave, lunch time now? Ready to chomp on another apple here shortly.
Avatar 12:53pm Mr Fab:

Was that “Hey Little Boy” an actual school record?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm Otis:

No... Numero Group has a new series they started last year, Cabinet of Curiosities where they package releases in a themed way,
www.discogs.com...

The HS one has a whole fake yearbook inside, it's nuts and so cool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm Webhamster Henry:

Hi folks! Hard to play the synth in a monokini!
Avatar 1:02pm Cp304:

My kinda rig right there
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm Franco Twinkie:

Jane Birkin has nothing on this classy lady!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm Otis:

Hi Henry, how do ya do!
Avatar 1:09pm solo mon:

LOVE THIS
Avatar 1:09pm Sondy's House of Moans:

I knew this record would beckon Solo Moan
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10pm Otis:

Inviting repeat plays here in chez fodder.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10pm Otis:

It's so Primal Ice Cream!
Avatar 1:11pm Mr Fab:

Man i gotta hear this entire album. Play it, Otis!
Avatar 1:11pm Cp304:

Good stuff Otis, good hangin, gotta run
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm Otis:

Cheers Cp! See ya soon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm Webhamster Henry:

How do I do? That's the question alrighty!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm Webhamster Henry:

I'm a fan of Ring Modulators.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm Franco Twinkie:

I was driving around yesterday listening to KCRW. It seems as though they have instituted this new kind of calming aural glue in between all the unrelenting anxiety. One of their DJ's, who is kind of the house EDM/trance guy instructs you in deep breathing exercises while you're attempting an illegal u-turn. This is where we're at I guess, and there ain't a goddamned thing we can do about it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm Webhamster Henry:

Not to be confused with the very worthy Tellus Cassette "Music With Memory": www.ubu.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm Otis:

That's a good'un Henry.

Franco - The new You-Turns.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm ARRRRich in Washington:

This music makes me want to dance theatrically.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm ARRRRich in Washington:

I love the Tellus series.
Avatar 1:35pm StringOFperils:

Franco, it's just KCRW. A cabal of lizard-headed women, hell-bent on melding all of your good aggro into gooey slow-moving slug thought. Resistance isn't futile.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Franco Twinkie:

It's true SoP, but I feel compelled to listen to the news while I'm driving. It's part of the deal I guess. Or maybe just a Santa Monica thing.
Avatar 1:49pm Bri The Beatnik:

Sounds like Pink Fliyd
Avatar 1:49pm StringOFperils:

This is very Laser Floyd. The Asylum Mix
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm ARB:

Punk Floyd
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm Otis:

Mixing it up. Hiiiiii Briiiiiii!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:52pm Otis:

Black Sun... composed for a Canadian Ballet. Laser Ballet Show?
Avatar 1:53pm StringOFperils:

Something in Quebec most likely.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54pm Franco Twinkie:

As is if I don't anymore distraction dept: I have just spent ten minutes fabricating a cheese pop tart. Kind of.
Avatar 1:54pm Bri The Beatnik:

Hey Otis!!!
Avatar 1:55pm Sonderangebot:

Franco this is basically an empanada or some kind of burek
Avatar 1:55pm StringOFperils:

Isn't that called a Pizza Pocket?
Avatar 1:58pm Sondy's House of Moans:

SOp indeed. Or Chilean empanada. I wish my parents bought more processed food as a child. Never had the chance to taste lots of it except neon oreos.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm Franco Twinkie:

Sondy, shape is everything. A very sharp knife and something to poke uniform holes is required. Forget about what it tastes like, it has to look like it came out of a machine.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm ARB:

I was raised on processed food. Where other people are 90% water, I'm 90% preservatives.
Avatar 2:00pm StringOFperils:

It's okay Franco, you can call it a cheese pop-tart. But if you use good quality cheese, instead of peach-tinted brittle sugar/starch with a cheese flavor, then I don't think it counts as a pop-tart really.
Avatar 2:01pm Sondy's House of Moans:

Purple grape colored vinyl WOW!!!!
Avatar 2:02pm solo mon:

GRAPES we hate em GRAPES
Avatar 2:02pm StringOFperils:

I'm made of snails and puppy-dog tails and TANG and Nestle's Quick and wiener nitrate missiles and micro-plastic salad dressing and Kool-Aid.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm Otis:

with a I LOVE MY VCR sticker too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm Otis:

I hate grapes!
I can't stand grapes!
I loathe grapes!
All kinds of grapes!

I hate purple grapes!
I hate green grapes!
I hate grapes with seeds!
I hate grapes without seeds!
I hate them peeled and non-peeled!

I hate grapes in bunches,
one at a time,
or in groups of twos and threes!

I fucking hate grapes!
  2:03pm chresti:

Hi Otis and parade of persuaders! Listening...
Just don't burn the house down, DEAR.

Avatar 2:05pm StringOFperils:

Make way for THE RON BURGUNDY MEN !
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm Franco Twinkie:

Okay SoP, point well taken. I did use a painfully sharp cheddar, which would never pass muster in a real cheese pop-tart.
  2:06pm chresti:

Vehicle! Welp, back to the grind...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm ARRRRich in Washington:

oh my god.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm ARRRRich in Washington:

Avatar 2:09pm Sondy's House of Moans:

Avatar 2:10pm StringOFperils:

This reminds me of Machine Head. ha ha ha

Avatar 2:23pm Mr Fab:

William Shatner has a new album called “The Blues.” He covers “I Put A Spell On You.” So we gotta deal with that.

Flying violins are def a trope on record covers
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm Otis:

We could almost do a full segment on just flying string records.
  2:51pm Martinibomb:

The Flying Lizards were known as the Flying Violins for this exact reason. True story
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm Kat in Chicago:

Good afternoon, all! Just opened the laptop. Yay, I can see all the record covers now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm Otis:

Hi Kat!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:52pm Franco Twinkie:

Avatar 2:55pm Ursula1000:

Di'Anno or Dickenson?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm ARRRRich in Washington:

Avatar 2:56pm Ursula1000:

I kinda lean towards Di'Anno
Avatar 2:56pm Ursula1000:

Rich---I concur!
  2:57pm Martinibomb:

Friendly Persuasion is possibly the dirtiest show on WFMU
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm Otis:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm ARRRRich in Washington:
