I haven't checked recently, but I presume the constitution says that in the unlikely event of the electoral votes being tied, the election will be determined by a 100-yard dash or a sword fight or at least a bloody duel of some sort. Throwing heavy dinner plates, for example.
Avatar 🛎 Swag For Life Member 1:17pm
David (in London):

S&M&S - Ha ha, that's another trait we share then. Our new 'single' is 20 minutes long on its own. Seriously though, I think we're similar enough, yet different enough, to make a combined piece quite an appealing prospect. Like I say, stash that away for a future conversation when the world is at least a little bit more 'normal' again.

Cope was on blistering form. It was just him and his acoustic guitar. He did material old and new, from some old Teardrop classics right up to things he said he'd recently just finished writing. He was wearing his Luftwaffe style peaked cap, outsized Victorian explorer shorts and huge combat boots. And, of course, the between-songs chat was solid gold. As was his rendition of a track about neolithic wisdom, 'They Were All on Drugs'. I took my 16-year old son (whom you guys 'met' last Friday) and he was blown away.

Jaysus, that's a lot of cash for a book. I think I might have it, although I can't remember now if I borrowed it from a friend and then returned it.

I've been listening for twelve hours non-stop to take my mind off things. Hardly got any work done but it's been a pleasure. The music, the chat and most of all, the feeling of solidarity with yooz all. Forgive me if I slip out behind the curtain, so Ill say thanks and good bye.

Mary, because it's so ridiculous, I took a picture of my "workspace" this afternoon, with your playlist front and center: wfmu.org...

Election Day coincided with garbage collection day, so we have rather a backlog of pumpkins around here ...

Jeff - Yeah, and it was a doozy, too, I reckon.

YETI BOB:

@Jeff: Yup and a Detroit version too IIRC. And this book I just found: "Copendium - An Expedition into the Rock&Roll Underworld" - scary looking cover, black with gothy typography. It came out in 2012, I missed it completely.

I like that workspace, Handy! Never too many pumpkins in my opinion!

I guess - as the title suggests - it's just a collection of his record reviews, but probably still worth reading.

Mary Wing:

I remember when Stan played this on his show, and said something along the lines of that it sounded like the end of a party, when everyone is tired but doesn't want to go home yet, so they start singing this song. That's how I feel, like the party is over but I am not ready to go home so let's do one last song.

:) thanks for all the Whatever, Mary!

@C∅: For Burroughs, I'd say "Junkie", "Queer", and "Exterminator!" (short stories)

For HST, "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" is really the only one you need to read IMO. And I don't know Andrew Dick. Do you mean Philip?
