A ghostly verse for Halloween

“This living hand, now warm and capable
Of earnest grasping, would, if it were cold
And in the icy silence of the tomb,
So haunt thy days and chill thy dreaming nights
That thou would wish thine own heart dry of blood
So in my veins red life might stream again,
And thou be conscience-calm’d–see here it is–
I hold it towards you. “ J Keats

Rest In Peace Jerry Jeff Walker. Back in my younger days I’d play David Bromberg’s version of Mr. Bojangles. It’s long and elegiac, with a monologue in the middle. My dad, a steelworker in Indiana, couldn’t stand my constant playing of Dylan and the Stones. But he loved that version of Bojangles.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53am

When I lived in Harlem when I first moved to NY. (I don't live there anymore) I remember Woody Allen used to perform jazz at this little club and I think it was Steve Martin who was playing Blue Grass. Has Blue Grass become hipper? Or more mainstream?
Avatar 7:57am
TDK60:

The reason I know a bit is I have a pal who plays old-time Appalachian banjo and guitar. Bluegrass is newer, from the 1930s-'50s I think, and most noticeable with the louder and more trebly, picked banjo as brought to us by Earl Scruggs.
