You have children. You have a wife. For the next few days of work you concentrate on their memory. One night you lie on ground in a stable and rats come and gnaw on your ropes and rotting flesh, with no reaction or blinking you stare at the moon recalling your mission from long ago.  2:46:16 (MP3 | Pop‑up)
Frank Hunter  Mist Of Gorongoza   Options White Goddess  One day while working the usual path with the other deadbeats, you take up the rear of the caravan. While trekking and staggering through the dry mud, your old and frail rope snaps. With no emotion you keep walking forward separated from the rest of the herd as they trudge on. You walk until you reach the roaring ocean. As you drag your feet across the beach of black sand, you step into the cold ocean, walking deeper and deeper into the sea until your head disappears under the waves.  2:48:42 (MP3 | Pop‑up)
Underwater Sounds    ?  Time passes. Hours turn to days, days into weeks, weeks into months as you walk across the ocean floor, very slowly, one step in front of the other. Daphne Walker  Beyond the Reef   Options ?  11 months later your wife returns home from work, only to see wet footstep upon her thresh hold and across her cottage floor. Henry fords got torn down in 2001 - they had a pictur window that looks over mount hood, with a fountain in the foreground that also spit fire. In the 70s neighbor kids would put bubble bath soap in it and the owner just decided it looked cool so they put soap bubbles in every day. So to sum up- a fire spitting fountain with bubbles hahaha

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm notsoKWYET:

One eyed monkey being good luck... I dunno.. 50/50 toss up on that
Avatar 12:11pm Leland "Mummy" Meadows:

While I have been listening in for the past hour, I have not had time to chat as work is very busy today unwrapping layers upon layers of linen cloth and discarding small amulets placed by priests as it seems I woke as a MUMMY! Please don't tell Constance, I will be back to normal this evening.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm notsoKWYET:

that fucking monkey... I KNEW IT
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm notsoKWYET:

ooo I forgot it's friday.... can't wait for CDW and LM
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hey Leland!
Avatar 12:14pm Feldgoria:

Leland, sorry about your Kafka-esque mummy awakening
Avatar 12:16pm Mr Fab:

Good day all, I am really diggin this here spooky-lau. So glad Herk emerged from his crypt and staggered over to his dj booth.
Avatar 12:16pm All day you will be slow, mon.:

Leland! You made it out of that well- Looking forward to the torch!!
Avatar 12:16pm Leland "Mummy" Meadows:

Used to it by now, happens once a year. All I can do is.... Shake My Mummy Maker.. to Chaino!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm Jan Turkenburg:

Mr Fab!
Avatar 12:17pm All day you will be slow, mon.:

As long as the monkey doesn’t have a razor blade, one eye is ok.
Avatar 12:18pm All day you will be slow, mon.:

MB ah of course you’ve been to henry fords! Best piano bar I’ve ever been to.
Avatar 12:19pm Mr Fab:

Oh, I occasionally drive by The Tonga Hut, L.A.’s oldest tiki bar (which happens to be in my neighborhood), pull up into the empty parking lot, and wistfully gaze upon it, hoping it can survive all this. Save us, Sheena!
Avatar 12:21pm Martinibomb:

Solo lives behind the Alibi Tiki bar. @solo I was at Henry Fords closing night! I also closed down the last piano bar in Portland out by the airport maybe a year or two after that
Avatar 12:22pm All day you will be slow, mon.:

MB great! Greg and I became friends with Lyle and Mary Ellen the piano hosts and they tried to get us to join some pyramid club cult scam they were part of. It was hilarious/ annoying.
Avatar 12:23pm Leland "Mummy" Meadows:

While we do not have a swinging tiki bar here in Limbosville... Toronto has a geat one, "The Shameful Tiki Room" and extension of one that opened in Vancouver previous. notso... have you been?
Avatar 12:23pm Ursula1000:

I just heard that Mai-Kai Restaurant in South Florida will be (temporarily?)closing. It's a classic spot with a heavy Tiki vibe and they do a whole Polynesian Show thing. Hope the make it thru all of this craziness.
Avatar 12:23pm Martinibomb:

Gawd it sucks soooo much that we have the first full moon in 44 years on a Halloween. Plus, a Friday and a Saturday night. All ruined by stupid coronavirus
Avatar 12:24pm All day you will be slow, mon.:

NotsoKwyet since we are talking about piano bars now... there was an amazing piano bar in the old double tree inn here in PDX called... “The Not So Quiet Room”
Avatar 12:25pm Martinibomb:

ooooh yeh! that's right hahaha!!!
Avatar 12:26pm Ursula1000:

Thankfully we have a nice super wide block w super cool kids so we'll be doing some kinda Halloween block party thing tomorrow---naturally I'll be supplying the grooves! ;)
Avatar 12:27pm Leland "Mummy" Meadows:

After living in Reno, a collective 6 years... every other casino has a piano bar... some better than others. The cheaper the buffet, the better the bar imo.
Avatar 12:27pm Feldgoria:

Martinibomb, you're right! Oh my heart just sunk
Avatar 12:28pm All day you will be slow, mon.:

The piano players name at. Not so quiet room “Amandah” and the design of that place was gorgeous- the walls were alll soft sculpture shapes in purple and pink- looked like a bunch Giant vulva pillows
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28pm notsoKWYET:

@solo =----- WHAT ?1!?!?!?!? Not so Quiet bar?!
Avatar 12:29pm All day you will be slow, mon.:

Leland you would love the alibi- because the buffet is “free” after midnight
Avatar 12:31pm Leland "Mummy" Meadows:

Behold my senses, I have successfully image searched the Goog for "giant vulva pillows"
Avatar 12:33pm All day you will be slow, mon.:

There is no mention of the notso quiet room on the Internet, but MB can tell you it did exist. 1970s soft sculpture bar.
Avatar 12:33pm Feldgoria:

Avatar 12:40pm All day you will be slow, mon.:

Ahhhh MB! Heaven inDUD
Avatar 12:42pm All day you will be slow, mon.:

Uh oh is it just me?
Avatar 12:43pm All day you will be slow, mon.:

Or Did the stream lose its steam?
Avatar 12:44pm Mr Fab:

our own DJ Shangri-la used to dj, along with Suzy hotrod, at Otto's Shrunken Head in Manhattan. There's a cool various artists comp on Bandcamp to benefit it, feat. a number of the bands that play(ed) there. Support closed tiki bars, even if they're not in your town!
Avatar 12:46pm solo mon:

Seems like sheenas and the r and r is down now for me. But the main and drummers are coming through
Avatar 12:47pm Mr Fab:

That's odd, solo, I'm hearing Sheena's loud n clear.
Avatar 12:47pm solo mon:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:47pm notsoKWYET:

I hear as well
Avatar 12:48pm Domenic:

Maraschino Melodrama on Tuesday's gave to catch that...

Avatar 12:51pm Domenic:

Hi. Snowing here in Massachusetts. very pretty
Avatar 12:55pm Mr Fab:

Hey Jan.
Bright and sunny here in SoCal, but I'm shivering from this scary story. Written in the second person! Haven't read a story like that since Jay McInerye's "Bright LIghts Big City."
Avatar 12:57pm solo mon:

My phone is rejecting the sheenas stream so i moved to old lap toppy
Avatar 12:59pm solo mon:

LO Domenic, well i guess it working too well in your house haha
Avatar 1:00pm solo mon:

I dunno its my phone r something. Im glad its just me.
Avatar 1:01pm solo mon:

I forgot to peep at the almost full moon last night and now its raining! darnit.
Avatar 1:05pm Mr Fab:

Providing a soundtrack to listen to while reading along with the story is a hella cool idea, Herk, this is great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:11pm notsoKWYET:

It's not considered cheating if you have recently been bitten by a voodoo-dream-inducing snake and are still under the haze of the whole situation!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm notsoKWYET:

Sounds like rent is free on this island --- he might have found someone to spend his time with too... why would he leave?
Avatar 1:18pm Domenic:

"Bam-Boozled " sounds like an old song called "Moonglow"
Avatar 1:19pm Herk Hilligoss:

Sorry haven't been able to chat much. This show is complicated!
Avatar 1:19pm Leland "Mummy" Meadows:

Enjoying the story Herk!
Avatar 1:19pm Domenic:

Thanks for putting it together Herk. And your making comments in the playlist!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm notsoKWYET:

poor guy .. all he wanted was an island vacatio, maybe some casual sex and to be apart of some questionable but fun rituals. ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:35pm notsoKWYET:

instead he got snakes and witches and swamp things and bad monkeys
Avatar 1:36pm Mr Fab:

I think we've all had Saturday nights like this...
Avatar 1:41pm Feldgoria:

Mr Fab, I agree with you about the great second-person writing here. This feels like a Choose Your Own Adventure book
Avatar 1:43pm Herk Hilligoss:

I think I accidentally skipped some important tracks in the middle of the story. Oh well. Too late to turn back now!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm notsoKWYET:

At Feldgoria --- unfortunately I am not able to do conceptual radio on the fly (i.e. like solo) but I've always thought it would be really cool to do a choose your own adventure show that is powered by your listeners
Avatar 1:45pm The Big Kahuna:

i drive by Elizabeth Waldo's home/theater in Northridge occasionally. She 102 years old!
Avatar 1:45pm Feldgoria:

notsoK, that is a great idea
Avatar 1:47pm solo mon:

Hello working on a choose your own adventure book style show for maybe December. People can vote for direction. Etc. “coming soon” Haha.
