They just have to have a suspicion of money laundering or terrorist funding and they can shut you out. I work as a contractor and occasionally recieve large payments, rather than getting a steady paycheck. I think maybe this tripped some algorithm. But they won't tell me.

	10:39am YETI BOB: It was truly weird. This was done by some separate secret division within the organization and even the people I spoke to at the bank had no idea about it. And they didn't just freeze my account - they "severed my customer relationship". I was given an 800 number to call - not the regular bank number. I got an answering machine which told me to leave a message and they'd call me back. When I went to speak to the branch manager at my bank, he tried to find out more, and wound up just getting the same recording.

Bandcamp does a separate transaction for each artist. So after about 5 quick transaction in a row, the algorithm shut me out. Stupid software.

"Why are you recieving money from him?" I told them - he's my employer. I also expressed a tiny bit of indignation at this dumb question (politely). I thought it was cleared up at that point but apparently not.

And they didn't just freeze my account - they "severed my customer relationship". I was given an 800 number to call - not the regular bank number. I got an answering machine which told me to leave a message and they'd call me back. When I went to speak to the branch manager at my bank, he tried to find out more, and wound up just getting the same recording.
