They also added tracks to the collection as well. I may not be credited much for that or suggesting the release, but I’m just happy that these amazing recordings are out there. Hi, Herk

I thought he was saying diamonds. "Sky men" is much better
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Mx. Granny (e/em):

ding dang dong! hello, BC and folx!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:57pm chresti:

Hi BC! Hi peepo!
Avatar 2:57pm StringOFperils:

I like Joe Meek. If he'd lived at a later time, his outsider reality might have not existed in the same way, and his weird recorded output might have been diluted, although he'd have been less the villain re. his affection for young men, but he is as he is, and he IS fascinating.
Avatar 2:59pm StringOFperils:

And speaking of which, Mrs. Miller looks like she's ready to peg somebody.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:01pm chresti:

..I mean, hi Herk!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm chresti:

Don't know Joe Meek, thank you.
Avatar 3:06pm MattyDread72:

Hello :-)
Avatar 3:06pm Herk Hilligoss:

Hi Chresti :) Joe Meek is an obsession of mine... If you couldn't tell... :)
Avatar 3:08pm StringOFperils:

IN his way, Joe Meek is a bit like Lee Scratch Perry. Working all on his own, a mad scientist of army-surplus electronics and how to completely wire up a house so you can record things in the staircases and the bathrooms, in order to make noise that no one has ever heard before....and then getting it boosted into a national hi parade somehow.
Avatar 3:08pm StringOFperils:

*hit parade
Avatar 3:09pm VaLRose:

Joe meek is an insane murderer! Crazy
Avatar 3:12pm StringOFperils:

The ultimate landlord/tenant act.
Avatar 3:13pm StringOFperils:

Worst tenant ever!
Avatar 3:13pm Herk Hilligoss:

Well I don't know about insane Val.. but yeah. sadly
  3:16pm Mark R:

This is some off-the-wall shit!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm spodiodi:

aloha, BC & Co!
  3:19pm Mark R:

I could imagine being held in a pit like in "Silence of the Lambs" while Joe Meek works upstairs, simultaneously cutting records and doing god knows what on his sewing machine, starving me until my skin was loose enough to add to his suit of human skin.
Avatar 3:19pm StringOFperils:

Hugely influential. Forced to live in shadows. Not the first. Oscar Wilde, Alan Turing, etc etc. Unfortunate that in his case the pressure drove him 'round the bend.
Avatar 3:20pm StringOFperils:

He was less the monster than the world in which he lived and died.
  3:21pm Mark R:

Mrs. Miller's "Downtown" is possibly the greatest record I've ever heard in my life.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm spodiodi:

how about NOW, Mark R? hmm?
Avatar 3:23pm JerrytheHutt:

I have to admit, her version of These Boots is rad
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:24pm chresti:

Amphetamines and barbiturates use added to his mental state, it looks like.
  3:24pm Mark R:

This is an absolutely brilliant radio program. I shall tell all my friends.
Avatar 3:25pm StringOFperils:

I'm actually liking listening to Mrs. Miller now. Used to run away. Thanks woof moo! Thanks a lot Darryl! :)
Avatar 3:27pm Herk Hilligoss:

Lex De Azevado local music producer of Mrs. Miller refused to talk about her for Cool and Strange Music Magazine... His wife answered anyway and said, "Don't ever call us about this ever again! (Click)
  3:28pm Mark R:

Ah, I can see you're now going to play this entire album, for which you should be both knighted and have your FCC license revoked, even though the FCC doesn't cover online programmings.
  3:28pm Mark R:

I'm not sure which is the better version of "Chim Chim Cheree," Mrs. Miller's or John Coltrane's.
Avatar 3:29pm JerrytheHutt:

It's only 1:30 local time and I'm fine with saying that Mrs. Miller is the highlight of my day.
Avatar 3:30pm StringOFperils:

High-flying Mrs. Miller falls under the Federal Aviation Admin.
  3:30pm Mark R:

Might as well go to bed now, Jerry, this is obviously the peak of your day (mine, as well).
  3:30pm Mark R:

Dora Hall is sucks hind tit to Mrs. Miller, IMHO.
Avatar 3:31pm JerrytheHutt:

Oh I'll keep going but I'm fine with the rest of my day being filled with Cheetohs and movies
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:31pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hello! Just got out of editing and here to catch the last half hour of your fab show :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

  3:33pm Mark R:

I love cheetos I just hate the orange fingers afterward.
Georgy, you're going to have a helluva time trying to follow Mrs. Miller. In fact, don't even try. No one think ill of you for just giving up.
Avatar 3:33pm Herk Hilligoss:

HI GG!!! Looking forward to your show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:33pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Thank you lovely! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Mark R - Lol! I wouldn't dream of trying to upstage the Icon Mrs Miller ;-)
  3:34pm Mark R:

OK, I rate my "Satisfations" thusly: 1) Otis Redding 2) Devo 3) Dora Hall 4) Stones
Avatar 3:34pm JerrytheHutt:

Otis Redding's version of Satisfaction is the epitome of this tune.
  3:35pm Mark R:

Jerry, your taste is impeccable (because you agree with me).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm chresti:

Solo cup heiress, could sound worse, I guess.
  3:36pm Mark R:

I've heard a lot worse singers (recorded, even) than Ms. Hall. I wish she was a little worse, frankly.
Avatar 3:36pm JerrytheHutt:

@Mark R
I was thinking it and started typing when I saw your comment come up. Stoked that I'm not alone
  3:37pm Mark R:

No, supposedly Jagger said he wished he could do it as well as Otis.
  3:37pm Mark R:

If it means anything, my first math question added up to 666.
  3:39pm Mark R:

So wait--she actually bought herself a TV special?
Avatar 3:40pm JerrytheHutt:

Mark, so you're confirming that math is in fact of the devil.
I knew it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

The "happy Now Sound" of Frank Sinatra Jr? Ok ... Lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm ARB:

The Lady June LP features Kevin Ayers, and came out in ‘74, after Eno’s career was well under way, so Jello’s chronology is a bit off (in those pre-internet days)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm DJ GeorgyGirl:
