I am calling it now...a few years from now, there's going to be a similar critical re-evaluation of Phish.

But I think they have also sort of heard that criticism and tried to push the limits a bit more over the past couple years. Haha, I can't believe I pay this much attention to the online critical discourse around Phish in the year 2020.

	10:25pm Dean: To put this in perspective, I spent some time--say, a year or more--reading The Wire, as I did a couple audiophile magazines and Wine Spectator. After a year, there is nothing more one can say about music/stereo equipment/wine that hasn't already been said. When they're not positively irritating (Ben Watson comes to mind), they're boring. Again, Thursday Lunch was promoting these guys and others (Leftover Salmon, for instance) long ago, and doing it well. I wasn't at the time a devoted Dead fan, but man, I heard some great stuff on that show decades ago.

I read here not a dismissal, but a subconscious(?) fear of engaging the band, a reluctant suspicion that there's something there hard to square with the Stones, the Who, etc.
