Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm Handy Haversack:

Skeleton Skott and the Wednesday Wunderbars! Happy greetings to you all!

To some, this episode is devils. To others, angels ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm Yes:

NICE. hello
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm Krys O.:

HA! Good afternoon! And how did you know this song was going through my head on Sunday?
Avatar 3:01pm TDK60:

Hi Scott. Groovy, aint a-heard the friggin' Ooo in a spell.
Avatar 3:02pm Bas NL:

Hellohelllllllraisers!
  3:02pm listener monica:

hi Scott! for a moment I thought it was Monday and you were filling in for Jim Price!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm tim from champaign (now washington):

Hey Scott! You got no reason to be underoptimistic either. Oh, wait....
  3:03pm listener monica:

optimistic opening...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm Handy Haversack:

Hey, Bas!

TDK60, it's like we're on the same subway car, seeing all the same stations. Always nice to ride with a friend.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:03pm Scott Williams:

G'day friends! While I got no reason to be over-optimistic, seems to me it's time to try a little hope-infusion, ehh?? Y'all got any reasons to be cheerful? Oh, it's the HELLRAISER!
  3:04pm David in London:

I don’t remember York Minster sounding as groovy as this. Evening all.
Handy, TDK!
Avatar 3:04pm Bas NL:

Hi Handy! Scott! All!
Avatar 3:05pm TDK60:

Hello DJ. Hello all. Chirp Chirp.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm p/b:

See Me Hear Me thanks for Tommy / love from Brooklyn

wear a damn mask
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm Handy Haversack:

Must have been when the Danelaw was still a going concern, David.

ami ad, I can see about fifty sparrows without turning my head. So far, they are appeased ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I am hopefully optimistic to hear a good show today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm Andrew_in_WI:

Just curious... does the FCC mandate that station ids are done in english? Could you do it en espanol or Czech or whatever?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm Scott Williams:

@David in London, it's a different version; remixes and alt takes released last year
Avatar 3:07pm Hubig Pie:

I feel a case of irrational exuberance coming on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:09pm tim from champaign (now washington):

I don't normally ask for requests (except for the Genesis tape) but could you play DOA by Van Halen? I understand if it's not in the cards.
Avatar 3:09pm TDK60:

Handy, I've been standing a lot on the subway recently, only to avoid sitting too close to my other city brethren. (But not on the subway as often as Before.)
  3:10pm David in London:

Hubig, have the animal spirits got the better of you?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm Scott Williams:

Hey Tim, VH is in the cards - which ones is TBD
Avatar 3:10pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

who has carrot cake?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:11pm Handy Haversack:

I have been on it only once since Before, TDK60, when we marched into Manhattan and found ourselves at Times Square and not really fancying another five or six miles of walking to get home. We have used the ferry to get to those things we had to do in Manhattan, which ... well, I have very mixed feelings. But it's open-air.
  3:12pm David in London:

Scott, ha ha, I meant the actual York Minster, which I was in a year and a half or so ago.
But thanks for the scoop on the release, this is really great.
Avatar 3:12pm Hubig Pie:

DiL, perhaps that, or they could be spirits of the distilled variety
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm tim from champaign (now washington):

Scott - I completely that we will be in good hands.
Avatar 3:14pm TDK60:

Handy: Ah, I haven't tried the new municipal ferry yet!
  3:14pm David in London:

Evening Reverend.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Scott Williams:

Hhahaaa, David in London!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm tim from champaign (now washington):

I'm about to have a Sammy Davis Jr/My eye really hurts/I'm suave and smooth/Going.berzerk!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm Marley P. Dogg:

Scott!!!! Hope you’re well!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm Handy Haversack:

That's the problem, TDK -- it's not municipal. A private company heavily subsidized by tax dollars to VERY inefficiently move people around the city while also acting as a prop for the developers destroying the waterfront. So it lets the city and state continue to defund the MTA while paying something like $8 for every $2.75 ride on the ferry.

Not to mention how crowded the river has become for us urban canoeists!

But it's open-air.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm Yes:

JAMS
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm efd:

Scott, can I assume you are going to discuss the details behind Will Powers?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm The Oscar:

Busy working, but that was INCREDIBLE.
Avatar 3:22pm TDK60:

Handy: Didn't know that about the ferry. And don't know why those liberal pols defund our trains.
  3:23pm McGroovey:

Will Powers: such an odd record. I've been forgetting to look for a good used copy for years, for the Todd Rundgren track(s?).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm Devin B.:

This new Santa Sprees is bonkers.
  3:24pm wendy del formaggio:

Hi Scott Williams.
Avatar 3:24pm Jeff Moore:

Pooeyflute, except not meant as such!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm joe mulligan:

saw the "silent disco" troop of middle-aged park slopers in prospect park this morning, dancing like nobody's watching. it's like watching Peanuts dance but grown-ups and no music
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:25pm Scott Williams:

EFD, yes, as far I can discern!
Avatar 3:26pm Jeff Moore:

@ joe mulligan: Was it magical, or annoying? Without seeing it I can imagine either.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm tim from champaign (now washington):

This is definitely not the Crucifucks' Wisconsin.
Avatar 3:27pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

[salutes David in Land of Real Ale & the full magnificent tribe gathered here]
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm Handy Haversack:

Hi, Wendy del Formaggio! Hope all's well by you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm Yes:

never heard this track. lovely
Avatar 3:29pm Bas NL:

Oww, hi @efd.. Lewsberg on the 25th did a great show. The concert was split in short sessions, but it was a good half an hour.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm Webhamster Henry:

I thought this sounded familiar! Fayelord '66!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm joe mulligan:

@Jeff, it's amusing for sure - one was miming to juggle and another was throwing fists. I'm not a great dancer but sure funny to watch folks past their dancing prime (like me) walking laps in the park. it's a bit of a parade and something to see.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm tim from champaign (now washington):

Dang, I didn't know this was a 7"!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm Carmichael:

Heya Scott and people of the 'net.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:30pm McGroovey:

Will Powers:

" A phenomenal exercise of super-ego, this is both a Great Artistic Achievement and an unbelievably smug heap of horse puckey." (Trouser Press)

I count that as a positive review.
Avatar 3:30pm Jeff Moore:

@joe mulligan: Nice!
  3:31pm wendy del formaggio:

Hey Handy! Mostly good, yes. I owe you and Kate emails. Other than listening to the radio and compulsively checking the weather report, I’ve been avoiding the online world.
Hope y’all are doing well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:32pm Krys O.:

Hey, Wendy!
Avatar 3:32pm Jeff Moore:

@Webhamster: Fayelord '66 was familiar before we even heard it! Fayelord '66 has always been there.
Avatar 3:33pm Bas NL:

Hi Wendy!
  3:34pm wendy del formaggio:

Krys O! Bas! ❤️❤️
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm zopa:

Oh yes! Un Cuerpo Exquisito!
  3:34pm Ghost of Ian Dury:

Reasons to be cheerful (part 3)?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm Scott Williams:

FRIPP SINGS
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm Handy Haversack:

We're OK, Wendy! Kate had some scary dental stuff but is almost all recovered. I'm holding reasonable steady.

And the WFMU boards to me pretty much *is* the online world. I find I have less and less use for the rest of the internet.

Kate's even thinking of getting her own sign-in!
Avatar 3:37pm Bas NL:

Jeezzz... where did you find that Scott?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm zopa:

Beautiful girls used to come up to
Rodney at dances and ask him to dance with them. And when Rodney, happy and pleased, stepped onto the dance floor
The girls would run away and leave Rodney dancing on his own
To make him look even more foolish than Nature had intended.
Rodney was a very sad young man
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm efd:

@Bas thanks for that update! Seems odd that they did two short sets like that, but better than nothing (i.e., our option here)!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm Scott Williams:

Bas, they've been quarantining really well! Look for "Robert & Toyah's Sunday Lunch" on youtube - that oughtta do some good damage to your algorhythm
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm McGroovey:

I think I read an interview where Fripp admits that he's basically tone-deaf, and he attributes his success to practice-practice-practice.

Practice-practice-practice, kids.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm tim from champaign (now washington):

Scott - I'd say this set has earned you the Free Form Freedom Medal! Take the rest of the day off! You earned it.
  3:40pm wendy del formaggio:

Handy, please convey my “get well soon” wishes to dear Kate. And I support her getting her own playlist presence. Yay!
Avatar 3:41pm Bas NL:

@efd It was all circumstances. Singer Arie told me they were so happy to be on stage at all.. it showed! ;) @Scott Will check that out, thanks!
  3:42pm Randy in NC:

I like the version of Wild Thing that they did in full dinosaur costumes recently.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm Handy Haversack:

I will definitely do so, Wendy! It is almost the cocktail hour over here. Honestly, what the heck? It's my damn birthday, and I'm STILL working and NOT drinking! What gives?!?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm Carmichael:

Happy birthday, Handy. A shot of Paddy, an IPA, and a Hemingway cocktail.
  3:45pm Barbie:

The debate tonight will make me happy
  3:46pm wendy del formaggio:

Happy birthday, Handy! Hooray! Long-distance, socially-distanced hugs to you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm ParUbi:

Mysterious time-lapses make me cheerful: www.youtube.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm Handy Haversack:

Carm, I like the way you think -- thanks!

Thanks, Wendy! Hugs right back!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:47pm ParUbi:

Happy birthday, Handy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm Handy Haversack:

Many thanks, ParUbi!

This is not the first board I have said it on today, and I bet it won't be the last. But I am touched, deeply and sincerely, by the kindness and well wishing of the folx on the accu. It's powerfully meaningful to me -- and Kate -- to have found such a wonderful community. I am grateful. You all are the best.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm tim from champaign (now washington):

Happy birthday, Handy.
  3:49pm ?:

Scott: great job on the karaoke. But take it easy on yourself. You did not affect destiny.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm Handy Haversack:

Thanks, tim!

Apparently, Will Powers is a mind flayer!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm zopa:

Happy Birthday Handy! I'll drink a pint to you tonight.
Avatar 3:49pm Bas NL:

Great you celebrate with us, Handy! Happy birthday!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm efd:

The whole Will Powers thing continues to boggle my mind/tickle my fancy. So bizarre!
Avatar 3:51pm TDK60:

I have reasons for hope. The youth who said "Enough!" this year, for one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm efd:

Handy, it's your birthday?? Is it too much to hope that you'll be spending it in the Metal District? :D Hope you're having and will continue to have a great day, regardless.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm Stanley:

Happy birthday Handy. (Raises glass of brown ale in his honour)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Handy Haversack:

efd! There is NO CHANCE of my missing Evan Snake Davies -- he escaped from New York, and now WATCH OUT!

zopa, Bas, Stanley, thanks, pals! I have closed the work window and am getting out the jigger and making a cocktail!
  3:54pm David in London:

efd, absolutely. Stevie Winwood was a part of it, too. Bonkers.
Evening Stanley.

I was going to see Horse Lords way back in March. Then COVID19 happened
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm Jim the Poet:

Let's dance!
  3:57pm David in London:

Sigh, Horse Lords are confined to the stable.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm efd:

100% right about that influence, Scott.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Carmichael:

Johnny Nash passed away as well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Stanley:

Hi David.
EFD - Is hair metal what we used to call ‘rock’?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm tim from champaign (now washington):

The Metal District - If it's too loud, you're too young!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm Gaylord Fields:

Aw, I missed a spin of the ultra-mega-rare Fayelord '66 single (six copies in existence). Thanks for wearing out your rarity for the punters, Scott!
  4:01pm Tennessee Jeb:

The Metallands
Avatar 4:01pm TDK60:

Was never into V.H. much but Eddie surely made some great sounds. You can hear he was into /timbre/.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm efd:

@Stanley it certainly has 'rock' underpinnings.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm Gaylord Fields:

@tim from champaign (now washington): Haha! Funny 'cos it's true.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm luka:

perfect choice, i listened to all of Fair Warning like three times last night.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm steveo:

Thanks for that little chat I much enjoyed it and also how did you ever time it so perfectly with the back ing bed music?
Avatar 4:01pm Fox:

Halllooooooo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm tim from champaign (now washington):

@Gaylord - Damn kids!
  4:02pm ?:

I don’t mean to pick but if evh was your age he would have been 11 when you saw him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Amen to all the words spoken on that mic break. Please pledge - pledge.wfmu.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:03pm Scott Williams:

@? - didn't say he was my age
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:03pm tim from champaign (now washington):

@Luka - Fair Warning is like a tank rolling over you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm royvis:

Bring it Scott! Thanks!
  4:04pm zak:

Nice one Scott, I was wondering if any of the FMU djs work do a little Eddie tribute. Great first choice btw, really shows off the bounce and wit at the heart of his guitar playing and songwiting. He/they were so great
Avatar 4:04pm Fox:

I got here just in time for the shredding!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm Jim the Poet:

Thank you, Scott. I loved Eddie Van Halen!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm McGroovey:

Crackles! Yay!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05pm luka:

@tim i think its their best and not really by a close margin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06pm tim from champaign (now washington):

My personal favorites are Van Halen and 1984. Anything with Diamond Dave can do no wrong.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm Handy Haversack:

Kate very glad to hear you favor the DLR years. Though I'm not sure anyone *doesn't*!

Bday martinis mixed!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm Yes:

feels like summertime again
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:07pm Stanley:

EFD - thanks. I’m sure your show will be as educational as it will be entertaining.
Avatar 4:08pm Roberto:

Yeah I was telling my wife yesterday about EVH's passing and she said, did you say he was 55 or 65 and I said, am I the same age as EVH? (Hint: I am not.)
  4:08pm Tahoe Tim:

Wow, that FM radio sheen (Ted Templeman speciality) coming through loud and clear. Am I in a Camaro in 1987? YES I AM Cool change of pace and nice for DJ's to acknowledge influences
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm bit rot:

DLR is the only real VH. I reject all the other forms!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09pm Krys O.:

I have fond memories of watching Van Halen videos on MTV with Wm Berger and his roommate, Diane back in the 80s. Also listened to 1984 a lot in the record store I worked in. RIP, EVH.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09pm Carmichael:

This music is 40 years old ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09pm tim from champaign (now washington):

I didn't realize until recently that there's a bit of ZZ Top boogie to VH's sound.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09pm Krys O.:

Yeah, I kinda loathe Hagar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09pm tim from champaign (now washington):

YES!!!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm LAZCAD:

YES!!!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Handy Haversack:

Scott, Kate points out that your pic in the FMU DJ card deck is in a VH T-shirt!

Also, it turns out Kate really likes the DJ cards!
  4:11pm The Butterman:

So good!
  4:11pm BH:

MTV Classic, a cable channel that is watched by dozens (including me), has been airing only Van Halen videos since the news came out yesterday
  4:11pm David in London:

Krys, no one-way ticket to midnight then?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11pm tim from champaign (now washington):

This is totally tougher than Achilles Last Stand.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11pm Handy Haversack:

Man, EVH was so young!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm Yes:

we're all in the convertible now
  4:12pm ami ad:

@Handy Haversack:Made a healthy shot,so,Cheers to you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm p/b:

I'm a spark on the horizon- how I survived my VH years I have no idea. Thank you
  4:12pm The Butterman:

Was DLR really the only one to rule the streets at night?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm McGroovey:

I don't think I've intentionally listened to Van Halen since 1981. I've been busy with other things, I suppose.
  4:13pm Dugan:

Holy crap. The Day WFMU played Van Halen.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm luka:

did you know: if you listen to "i'll wait" loud enough in a car it makes your hangover go away?
Avatar 4:13pm Roberto:

My point was, Van Halen was at their peak when we were in middle school/high school, so I'm obviously not the same age as Eddie.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm nickybones:

I didn't get into actual VH albums til sorta-embarrassingly late (like 5 years ago). EVH had taste for days.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm Handy Haversack:

Cheers, ami!

Yeah, luka, it's in the manual.
Avatar 4:14pm Roberto:

I loved Diver Down. I don't think any album was more played on the stations I listened to in 1982.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm tim from champaign (now washington):

I don't like most of the bands who claim VH as an influence but Trans AM and Lightning Bolt carry the spirit on well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm efd:

@Dugan This is not by any stretch the first time Van Halen has been played on WFMU (long-ass url incoming): wfmu.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm JG:

great tribute set. forgot how much I liked some of this stuff
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm efd:

also, I forgot how much I liked "Little Guitars"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm Scott Williams:

thanks for taking that on, EFD!
Avatar 4:16pm AnAnonymousParty:

I was always partial to Hear About it Later (Fair Warning?). Good to listen to, fun to play.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@efd - Same.

I never followed Van Halen so this is interesting
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:16pm efd:

haha, and the ending just reminded me of a mix tape I made for myself that went from "Little Guitars" into "Urgent" by Foreigner.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm dale:

evan funk davies - i've been asking clay to play some teenage head for two years. thanks for making that happen. although disgusteen would have been my pick.
  4:17pm Tahoe Tim:

Guy and band had undeniable cultural influence, and his fluency on guitar was trend-setting and at least some type of genius
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm Brian D:

Well stated and curated tribute, Scott. Thank you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm McGroovey:

Yeah, my buds and I spent many teenage hours sitting in a circle passing thoughts around while listening to Van Halen (and Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath, etc etc, and Olivia Newton John, because my friend had a crush on her).
  4:17pm Dugan:

OK, you got me there. But I'll eat a goddamn bug the Day WFMU Plays Van Hagar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm efd:

@Dale glad i could help!

  4:18pm wendy del formaggio:

Aww, this is a great set. Bon voyage, EVH. I was a young fan of VH. In 6th grade I bought “1984” on cassette. And when DLR left and [*shudder*] Hagar came in, it felt like such a betrayal.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:18pm tim from champaign (now washington):

Can you imagine a day in the lilfe of David Lee Roth at the height of Van Halen's powers?

@Yes: YES!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm tim from champaign (now washington):

@Wendy - I made that connection when I took a 2 hour road trip to Detroit to see Trans AM and on the way I listened to a VH mix tape. During the show I realized "Wow, Van Halen sounds a lot like Trans AM, NO wait, it's the other way around!"
  4:26pm SJ:

Alex remains underrated in my mind. Perfect drum sound at all times too.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm McGroovey:

@AnAnonymousParty well, there was Wendy O. Williams (no relation to Scott, I assume). But her chainsaw was gas-powered, I suppose.

And then there's Eugene Chadbourne, who does it with non-powered hand tools.

(Eek. That sounds off.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm Scott Williams:

@Royvis, do you remember how impossible this song was to play???
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm Scott Williams:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm McGroovey:

Hey, EVH sounds just like Eugene Chadbourne on banjo!

Well, except EC sounds funnier.
Avatar 4:31pm Fox:

Did that start off with a Jack Benny riff?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32pm McGroovey:

Oh, that want EVH on banjo? Poo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32pm royvis:

I don't think we even tried! Just now I sat incredulous listening to his beats. I don't think I could play it then, maybe not now! I dare say Van Halen is responsible for me wanting to play in a band. Thank you EVH and co.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33pm Handy Haversack:

What a great set and tribute, Scott!

Oh, but I love 1984! Panama is still my fav.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:37pm McGroovey:

If their first record came out in 1978 (that does sound right), I was listening to VH between the ages of 16 and 18, until I discovered the Clash and decided VH was totally not cool.

I was a country boy, not a suburban boy
  4:37pm ?:

That's me too, the female version. First arena show ever 1981...(And yes, forget about Hagar)....GREAT LIVE SHOWS

Thanks Scott. That was really cool

  4:43pm andrewb:

The worst thing about VH is how many worthless hair bands they inspired.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm Handy Haversack:

Thanks, Scott -- I'm quoting Kate here, but the sentiment is general: "We love you, Scott! Rest in peace, Eddie Van Halen!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm tim from champaign (now washington):

Thanks for the great VH set, Scott!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:46pm McGroovey:

All good stuff.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:10pm McGroovey:

Scott, I realized when you stopped playing loud guitar songs that I didn't want to hear loud guitar songs anymore. OK.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:16pm McGroovey:

I suppose Spirit is one of those bands that never really want away, but no one noticed they were still making records?

Scott, not sure if I ever mentioned to you that RSM knew of the Feminine Complex as they played the combo scene in Nashville back in the 60s. FC was a wee bit older than RSM and his band mates.

Nice! Journey To Manala Part II.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm Carmichael:

Does this qualify as "butt rockin' " music?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:50pm Carmichael:

@TDK, from the Youtube video: "according to the Sea Dream (2001) liner notes, this was recorded in the mid 90's, written by Randy for his friend Paul Franklin and was found on a DAT tape containing ten takes, it goes on to say that this take is slightly slower and more loose than take 8 which Randy had highlighted; another version was actually released earlier than 2001 as a part of a promotional disc for the magazine Ptolemaic Terrascope - this according to Mick Skidmore who is/was compiling the posthumous Randy California recordings."
