Anyone home?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10/3 3:32pm Jan Turkenburg:

Don, you're on the tuesday playlist, we're on the saturday one...
  10/3 3:32pm Debbie Davenport:

oh wow we're all commenting in a different place and that place has no song titles
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 10/3 3:34pm chresti:

Here it is!
  10/3 3:35pm Debbie Davenport:

Were we the ones in the wrong place?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10/3 3:36pm StringOFperils:

What??? this is like the ghost subway station on the TTC, the siding in the other dimension.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 10/3 3:36pm chresti:

Hi Don and Noah on the fantastic world playlist! Thanks Jan for your detective work!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10/3 3:37pm StringOFperils:

Spooky action at a distance.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 10/3 3:39pm chresti:

Debbie, WE were in the right place, but the playlist was not.
  10/3 3:40pm Debbie Davenport:

thanks Cresti. I'm still trying to figure out a lot of things with tech.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10/3 3:40pm Jan Turkenburg:

I'm curious if you can copy a playlist from one show to another afterwards.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 10/3 3:41pm chresti:

Sounds like something Kenzo would know.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 10/3 3:41pm chresti:

@Jan^
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10/3 3:42pm Jan Turkenburg:

@ chresti, get it :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10/3 3:44pm Jan Turkenburg:

Ah, I see Don and Noah have decided to continue at the saturday page. Let's move back.
Avatar 3:00pm worldsworstrecords:

here we go!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:03pm Rich in Washington:

Hi Mr. Kitten!
Hi everybody!
Avatar 3:04pm worldsworstrecords:

Hey Rich!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:04pm Mr Fab:

Hi Kitty & Co! Never mind the above comments, they're related to last Saturday's episode of Don's OTHER show, Wired Up. And now, on with the cheezy '80s laser sounds.
Avatar 3:05pm worldsworstrecords:

That was a tad confusing: I tuned in and thought I'd missed the first hour!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:06pm Rich in Washington:

Hey worldsworstrecords!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:07pm Mr Fab:

No Darryl, Otis just ended. We heard a remix of ARB's milk rap, and (ding!) a sex ed filmstrip (ding!). Just had to imagine the visuals.
Avatar 3:11pm Kitten Sparkles:

Yay! Glad to see alll youse guise here
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:20pm Mr Fab:

i love the *idea* of circus music, but that actual records are pretty annoying. Mixed into that collage, tho, worked a treat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20pm Carmichael:

Heya Kitty and Sparklers.
Avatar 3:23pm Kitten Sparkles:

Hi there!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:28pm WR:

The remix of ARB's milk rap inspired me to listen to the Can Stew show from Monday which inspired me to put on my Coca Cola in all languages tie.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:32pm Mr Fab:

hey, I heard the Thrilling Chilling Sounds of Haunted House in there! A childhood fave.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:34pm Mr Fab:

is that you wearing said tie on your avatar, WR?
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:35pm WR:

Yes, new selfie.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:37pm WR:

Standard work clothes in these work from home daze. Tie not standard. Special for Sheena's Jungle Room.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:38pm Mr Fab:

Ha, Africans don't sound African. more like American Indian stereotypes. Ugh, heap bad records!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:41pm WR:

But that is probably the best the missionaries could do of what they understood. Missionary history white wash.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:42pm Mr Fab:

"Listen baby to the New Wave sound." You never heard any actual New Wave artists sing about "New Wave." Only songs like "Super freak" and "It's Still Rock n Roll To Me."
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:43pm Rich in Washington:

Jesus, Tammy! Take a tranquilizer!
  🎸 3:45pm Cheree July:

Do you have "Dawn of Correction" by the Spokesmen aka the Eve of Destruction "response" song?
  3:45pm the palace at 4am:

Sounds like someone is ... glad that they’re a Christian.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:47pm Cotismic McFodder:

Ahhh, to fly in space with Barry.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:48pm Rich in Washington:

Sometimes there's a reason we only know some musicians for their one hit song.
  🎸 3:50pm Cheree July:

I dunno. That was actually kinda cool.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Rich in Washington:

John Kilduff is amazing!
  🎸 3:56pm Cheree July:

Ohhh, the Let's Paint guy!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:02pm WR:

Ah, can just sit back and chill listening to some Kurzwellen. Thanks.
Avatar 4:02pm worldsworstrecords:

I should listen to more Stockhausen
Avatar 4:05pm worldsworstrecords:

I'd not heard of the Dawn of Correction before... that's going on a future WWR show
  4:05pm novakscene:

Kurzwellen and chill?
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:08pm Outisremer:

Thank you for the Parmegiani for dinner, delicious.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:21pm Mr Fab:

There's nothing explicitly "liberal" about "Eve of Destruction," but some conservatives felt it needed answering anyway. hence, the absurd "Dawn of Correction." I think I actually have a whole album by The Spokesmen? Which i haven't had the stomach to listen to in its entirety.
Avatar 4:23pm Kitten Sparkles:

OK, OK, I'll play the fucking thing.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:26pm Rich in Washington:

this record convinced me. I'm voting for Goldwater!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm Carmichael:

2 of these 3 guys came from Danny & The Juniors, for what that's worth.
  🎸 4:29pm Cheree July:

Whoa! You do have it!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:29pm WR:

Er, thank you, I think. This correction song is curious, but scary and it does support the peace core.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:30pm Mr Fab:

It's the dawn of being sent to a correctional facility.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:31pm Otisss:

While I have never heard that take by The Spokesmen, going to file it in my mind and close the door on it... like Nixon's The One.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:31pm Mr Fab:

When I was a kid, i always pronounced it the Peace Corpse. Hey, that's how it's spelled! (There must have been a punk band or sumthing called that, I'd imagine...)
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:32pm Otisss:

What's there to live for?
Who needs the Peace Corps?
Think I'll just drop out
I'll go to Frisco
Buy a wig and sleep on Owsley's floor
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:33pm Rich in Washington:

Seems like there was a Peace Corpse band. Seems like something that would be on one of those Mystic Records comps.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:34pm Otisss:

Such a great band name.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:34pm Rich in Washington:

Yep. From Pomona: www.discogs.com...
  🎸 4:36pm Cheree July:

Oh, they were from Pomona. That makes sense.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:37pm Rich in Washington:

When I was a teenager and I thought buying shitty punk comps with my meager dishwashing job paycheck was a wise dollar stretcher, only to eventually realize that a bunch of mediocre tunes from lesser bands was no bargain.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:37pm Rich in Washington:

I do wish I had some of those punk compilations today for some reason.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:39pm Mr Fab:

That Peace Corpse band looks pretty good - lots of Quincy references, always good for a laugh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:46pm StringOFperils:

Enjoying these soft sounds for the alienated.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:48pm Otisss:

The Quincy and Chips punk episodes. We need those circulating on the Sheena Stream.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49pm StringOFperils:

And the SCTV episode featuring breaking punk band, The Queen Haters.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:50pm Otisss:

Oh yea? Have not seen that, will check out now, thanks String!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm StringOFperils:

Probably too visual to work as well on 'radio'...but it sprang to mind.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:51pm chresti:

Hi Kitten and everyone on the farm!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:52pm Mr Fab:

Oh no, The Queen Haters audio is def in the Sheena stream. "I hate the bloody queen!"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55pm Carmichael:

"Yes, that would make me LOFF!"
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 4:56pm Mr Fab:

Eddie Van Halen just died!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56pm Carmichael:

Yep, just read that.
  4:58pm zzmm:

noooo
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:00pm Mr Fab:

All the Valley dood around me growing up loved em of course. Not me. But Paul Anka's version of "Jump" is great. And i think The Moog Cookbook covered 'em quite succesfully.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:00pm Otisss:

Had no idea he did the solo on Beat It until reading it online just now. There goes a part of my growing up riding around in a friend's Trans Am blasting Runnin.
  🎸 5:00pm Cheree July:

WHAT? Mr. Fab, are you serious?!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:01pm Otisss:

I was an odd duck. I liked mainstream and underground as a kid, all music. Probably why I didn't fit in anywhere except the smoking section.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:02pm Mr Fab:

Yep, serious. Cancer, not COVID.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:04pm Carmichael:

Helen Reddy died, too. Not quite the hoopla about her, sadly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:05pm StringOFperils:

There's still Buckethead!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:08pm Mr Fab:

i was so unfamiliar with Van Halen, except as background music coming out of passing Camaros, i never recognized covers or samples of 'em. Like The Minutemen's version of "Aint Talkin Bout Love." Was very surprised when I finally heard the original, ha ha.
  🎸 5:08pm Cheree July:

Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:09pm Rich in Washington:

Lots of my pals in high school were guitar nerds and they all worshipped at the feet of Eddie. It's like they went from Page to Eddie overnight.
  🎸 5:09pm Cheree July:

Press F to pay respects
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:11pm Otisss:

As a 9 or 10 year old with my KISS army card, there was nothing cooler than Eruption by Eddie. I mean that was 1979/1980 for me. However by Jump... I had jumped ship.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:12pm Rich in Washington:

I did think Eruption was pretty cool as a teen, I must admit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12pm StringOFperils:

I could never go near that stuff, VH. I was just too old to get sucked into the 80s hair band stuff, not to deny that Eddie was a technical wizard on the guitar; but VH always made me cringe...and it was everywhere.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:13pm WR:

Do I assume correctly that the playlist is reversed or did I blink and miss Xenakis between the farm and the swimming? Enjoying everything today.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:13pm Otisss:

Here too, those first 2 albums I and II have some great licks, but that was pre-1980 VH sound.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm StringOFperils:

This is Xenakis.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:13pm Otisss:

If you slowed down Eruption 100x, this would be it playing now.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:14pm Rich in Washington:

yeah, pre-80s. The term Heavy metal wasn't even in popular parlance yet and 'hair bands' wouldn't be a thing for another five years or so.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:14pm chresti:

I saw them (Van Halen) opening for...Sparks? Iggy? Captain Beefheart? at the Santa Monica Civic in the late 70s.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:14pm Otisss:

However, the only thing worse than VH with Sammy Hagar on lead would be Chicago with Cetara on lead I'd say. Eeeeuuugghhh.
  🎸 5:15pm Cheree July:

(Butthead voice) WHOA! Uhhhh, that would be cool!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:15pm StringOFperils:

I'm sure I was a devoted fan of any number of other bands that sounded dreadful to someone else, and I'm sure I made people listen to them at high volume too.
Avatar 5:15pm Kitten Sparkles:

This hyar is Xenakis.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:15pm Otisss:

Wow, chresti... any of those 3 with VH I would love to have caught in the late 70s!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:15pm WR:

Otisss, why you try to seduce us to listen th VH?
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:15pm Otisss:

Totally, don't get me started on my ELO collection.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:16pm Otisss:

I will seduce you all to listen to 3 turntables. VH on one, Coum Transmissions on another, Mrs Miller on the 3rd, all playing at once.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm Carmichael:

Van Hagar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:19pm StringOFperils:

The Horrible
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:20pm Mr Fab:

The other great cover of "Jump" is Aztec Camera's Velvet underground-inspired version.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:20pm Otisss:

Hagar the Horrible.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:22pm WR:

Otisss, I listened to near half of the Xanadu Anniversary show. I think i know the mayhem you are eager to deploy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:22pm StringOFperils:

I like this. I used to listen to a lot of overnight radio shows that sounded like this does.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:23pm Otisss:

All in good sane fun WR. Probably why I like Kitten's mix so much too.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:24pm Rich in Washington:

Oh, I love those Droll Yankee records!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24pm StringOFperils:

Sheena's is where the sanity is. The Sheena's brand is synonymous with 'well-adjusted'.
Avatar 5:25pm Kitten Sparkles:

Droll Yankees shit is cool.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:27pm Rich in Washington:

The Frog Pond one is nuts. I nearly peed myself laughing at side one.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:28pm Rich in Washington:

It has a certain Pepperidge Farms quality to it.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:28pm Rich in Washington:

"That's the Spring Peepah!"
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:28pm Mr Fab:

SOp: Right on! Mission accomplished.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:32pm WR:

Reading about the Xenakis piece, apparently called Persepolis because the Shah of Iran paid for it.

Oh, I've been reading about the Lilys. Yep.
  🎸 5:35pm Cheree July:

Uhhhh, what?!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 5:35pm WR:

Having a hard time deciphering between Ms Lilly and the dolphin but the effort is rewarding.

Oh damn, I think they're actually singing it in Romanian.I didn't think Glam Rock was allowed in Communist Eastern European countries.
