Listener comments!
TDK60, Scott, Matt, Gaylord, Ken -- a gathering of lights! Hello!
this three hour earlier start works for a few of us seniors!
Actually, going to e-mail you a tune right this very second, Wendy!
If you've finished the prep, you've overcome the biggest hurdle. Good luck and make sure he wears gloves.
i see mariano amongst the plants
Thanks. There's light at the end of the...
um, rethinking that figure of speech.
coela: You see nothing! Also: hi!
hah! @mariano, @Handy, @coelacanthø -- What's All This Then?! another Monty Python sketch?!
Krull, coela, hey.
TDK, p’burgh! Cool...I’m from central PA so I’ll always take a shout out to Iron City (Beer)
Ken: I was firmly in the anti-Yoko camp of Beatles fandom till I heard her portion of "Plastic Ono Band" while on 3 hits of acid, been a fan ever since.
fell in love with this first time i ever heard it -- college, i think? late 70s, but still -- could not believe how many people who claimed to be "cool" HATED it AND Yoko! *heavy sigh*
and YES! agreed, @Krull -- that story of her and Lennon's first encounter gets me every time :)
@Wendy del Formaggio: Hello! <3
@mariano: I was actually surprised. I thought the ratio would be at least double in favor of Yoko.
Greetings Earthlings
Krull: Hah! That and D.I.'s "No Moms."
oh yes -- amongst those who considered themselves "cool," Yoko was considered "noise" (and not in a positive way!) -- nor was it "cool" or "punk" to like Joni Mitchell, The Moody Blues, Neil Young, etc. etc. etc.
(weird, when i began college in 1977, everyone HATED "punk"/"New Wave" -- by the time i was in my last year, it had become "trendy" and people could be really judgmental/elitist about what was considered "cool")
now i understand *why* my Mom never made it for us either!
cheers to those LUCKY KIDS whose Moms make them Baked Alaska
it was all very strange and clique-ish :(
slugluv: Right? Very elaborate dessert. At restaurants when I was a kid they'd wheel out the whole dome on a cart, douse it with booze and flambe it, then cut a slice for you.
Ok Ira and folks, need to run out for a bit, so thanks in advance if I'm not back before show's over. Take care everyone!
(& damn! at least you got to go to restaurants where you could get it!) (hah! i will stop before this turns into another Monty Python bit!)
@Krull -- LOVE to yer Mom!
@Krull: will confirm later if it was a stroke (one mistake, ok, two, I let it slide, 5!!!!, no excuse!).
very effective outfit
Thanks for getting up early, Ira! Much appreciated, you and the Skeletons.
Be well, all. Catch you later on.
Than you Ira and Crew, see everyone at DotDash!
Thx for wonderful show.
