Years ago I was talking to a French guy who didn't understand me when I was saying the name "Vaughan" till finally he said "Ah, vo-GAN!" There's also a habit of Anglicizing foreign titles in the UK: the old-school pronunciation of Quixote is "QUIK-sut" and Byron's "Don Juan" is "don JOO-un".

I forgive the band, but will not forgive the venue for remaining open. I stayed home and ate the ticket, but forever enraged that MHoW didn't reschedule or offer a refund.

Years ago I was talking to a French guy who didn't understand me when I was saying the name "Vaughan" till finally he said "Ah, vo-GAN!" There's also a habit of Anglicizing foreign titles in the UK: the old-school pronunciation of Quixote is "QUIK-sut" and Byron's "Don Juan" is "don JOO-un".

I forgive the band, but will not forgive the venue for remaining open. I stayed home and ate the ticket, but forever enraged that MHoW didn't reschedule or offer a refund.
