Steve - I will make a rare exception, what is your question?
Avatar 1:03pm Joe B:

it's a slippery slope to all lower case playlist entries ...
  1:03pm Steve:

Is it just me or was Bo Diddley's 'Bo's Bounce' way ahead of its' time in terms of innovation in how he manipulated his guitar on that track ?
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2022 Swag For Life Member 1:03pm Hughie Considine:

The Sounds stickers are un-removable!! One time it looked OK -- on the Replacements' Tim, because same shade of pink.

I still can't figure out how I'd never seen Valley Girl until just a few years ago.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm mariano:

Bob Kildea was Belle & Sebastian's bass player I thought. 20 years ago at least. Met him a couple of times, nice guy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm YETI BOB:

I was browsing used records and I found one with a Korvette's sticker on it. They had a weird system where the records didn't have prices - the stickers were color-coded with a letter ("E", "G", etc) and there was a chart hanging up that decoded the prices. Anyone else remember that?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm Pauly from Clifton:

Michael! What a treat to hear you on Thursday! I hope it's a double dose of the show this week.
  1:06pm kpx:

@Gaylord, Hmm, well that's the way that cookie crumbles. speaking about cookies have you still been baking them. or was it some kind of donuts that I've seen people breaking your chops about. I forget why they were doing that?.
  1:07pm Steve:

I remember that well, Yeti Bob. They had the best sale prices
Avatar #1 Hit Supporter Marathon 2022 Swag For Life Member 1:07pm Gaylord Fields:

I saw the Plimsouls three times in 2006 alone and they were fantastic. Buyer beware - Eddie Munoz still plays under the Plimsouls banner but with a rotating cast of players/singers. It's usually really good but Peter Case is usually not involved. end public service announcement

....but it was an urban legend... sorry.
According to Korvette's founder, Eugene Ferkauf, who died on June 5, 2012, the name "E. J. Korvette" was coined as a combination of the initials of its founders (Eugene and Joe) and a re-spelling of the naval term corvette, a nimble sailing warship and later World War II sub-destroyer. The company's founding in 1948 (two years before the Korean War) disproves the urban legend that the name was an acronym for "Eight (or Eleven) Jewish Korean War Veterans".
