Avatar 12:05pm Mary Wing:

Hiya Handy, Granny ST and David in London! Send all the eggs to me, Granny!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:05pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Greetings. I bid you whatever.
Avatar 12:06pm Mary Wing:

Oh, I bet you're talking about the egg gif that Ken uses, right? Love that egg.
Avatar 12:06pm Mary Wing:

Whatever back atcha, Ken!
Swag For Life Member 12:10pm spodiodi:

Ottomans and eggs? i'm in the right place!

good morning, Mary Wing and the 100%!
Swag For Life Member 12:10pm spodiodi:

also good afternooooon!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm David (in London):

Mary, that egg has its own cult following now.
Avatar 12:14pm Mary Wing:

Good morning spodiodi!
Avatar 12:16pm Mary Wing:

Handy, do you hear anyone clapping at 7 pm anymore? I noticed that it stopped a few weeks ago in my neighborhood.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:16pm coelacanth∅:

hi Mary, 100%ers
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm Handy Haversack:

Mary, I think it stopped right when we first started opening things back up -- so I guess it will come back when we have to shut everything back down again?

Hey, spod!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Eggs, oh god, yes. I want them all!
Avatar 12:18pm Mary Wing:

Howdy coelacanth, welcome to Wednesday whatever once again!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm Ike:

That egg scares me, but you're all good eggs. Probably.
Avatar 12:21pm Sem:

Dings and things to you, Mary, and greets to the 100%.
Avatar 12:22pm Hubig Pie:

But suppose someday there weren't any chickens. Would that mean there wouldn't be any eggs ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Alfred Hitchcock was a noted ovophobe.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:22pm coelacanth∅:

when i see that egg on Ken's playlist i quickly scroll past it
Avatar 12:23pm Mary Wing:

Hello Ike, Sem, and Hubig! No eggs would signal the end of humanity; for me, anyway.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Chickens do not have the monopoly on eggs! Eggs for the people!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm Handy Haversack:

No chicken eggs --> the robins are in a LOT of trouble. But they've had it soft for a long time!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:24pm coelacanth∅:

it would signal the end of the majority of animals anyway
Avatar 12:26pm Sem:

re: eggs. I have one word.
Balut.
Avatar 12:28pm Mary Wing:

"a boiled, fertilized egg, a popular food in parts of Asia"--you mean there is a chick inside the egg??
Avatar 12:29pm Sem:

nascent, would-be chicken. No yolk.
Avatar 12:29pm Mary Wing:

With a nascent beak?
Swag For Life Member 12:30pm spodiodi:

good getaway, Handy?
(sorry if i missed any highlights you may have typed on an earlier playlist)
Avatar 12:30pm Sem:

OK, image search coming up.
Avatar 12:31pm Hubig Pie:

I think balut be duck egg. and yeah, partially developed
Avatar 12:31pm Mary Wing:

I don't think I'm ready for a graphic of this...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32pm Handy Haversack:

Yeah, spod! Weird but really nice. We even had a physically distant lunch with Wendy del Formaggio. And got an afternoon of canoeing in. It was good. Thanks for asking!
Avatar 12:32pm βrian:

The problem with most of these gifs is that they don't stop after one or two cycles. It's like the guy who gets a laugh out of a joke, and so decides to retell it ad infinitum.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:32pm Stanley:

Er.....I'll come back when the talk is more palatable
Avatar 12:33pm Sem:

I'll spare everyone the sight.

How about a lobster being boiled alive?
Avatar 12:33pm Mary Wing:

Hi Stanley, it's up to you to steer the conversation away, ASAP!
Avatar 12:34pm Sem:

Hello, Stanley. Rested and well, I trust?
  12:34pm rw:

Good morning! Sounds like dire wolves.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm David (in London):

Hey spodiodi, sem.
Avatar 12:35pm Sem:

David, what's for tea?
  12:36pm rw:

Are we talking about eggs?

Hey coelacanth! Meant to say hello last night but was distracted with distractions.
Avatar 12:37pm βrian:

I was wondering why the music seemed so seal-clubby. Wrong damn stream.
Avatar 12:37pm Mary Wing:

Good morning, rw! Off to work today?

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm David (in London):

Sem, cucumber sandwiches. With the crusts removed. And Earl Grey tea.
Possibly a macaroon if you're lucky.
Avatar 12:38pm βrian:

Speaking of eggs, I've been heavily hankering for Crème Caramel. Blueberries and raspberries are coming in, and they need a place to sit.
Avatar 12:39pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Encumber the cucumber with crust & I must cuss.
Avatar 12:39pm Mary Wing:

Hey there, RevRab! Long time no see, how's by you?
Avatar 12:39pm Sylvia (France-NYC):

Hello, Mary, DIL, Stanley, spodiodi, and all
  12:40pm rw:

Mary, work today got postponed so I'm working from home this morning. Maybe the beach this afternoon? If we can find somewhere a little isolated.
Avatar 12:41pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Well I forgot to get a career & homo sapiens on Earth is @ an evolutionary critical point
...but not too bad considering.

Avatar 12:43pm Mary Wing:

Hiya Sylvia and brainiac!

Avatar 12:44pm Sylvia (France-NYC):

@David in London, ça va, merci !
Avatar 12:44pm Sem:

Short visit today, Mary. See you on the archives.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm coelacanth∅:

βrian @12.32 i agree.
same thing with otherwise worthless novelty music (ie shittyflute) 'stopped being amusing after the 2nd or 3rd time.
  12:44pm rw:

Later Sem. Have a good one!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44pm Phillippe Bastille:

Howdy. I missed a bunch of the show so I guess I'm just a 75% or so

Avatar 12:51pm Mary Wing:

Hi Mark R! Lazy Salon is from Jersey, and is in the (virtual) new bin, duh!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm Phillippe Bastille:

  12:53pm Mark R:

Hearts and Minds are a cookie' lil' ensemble, aren't they? Bass clarinet, nice. Actually, they're ALL great on this track. Even the vibes player who chimes in about every 5 minutes.

100% no words is a strange show here, for sure, but it sounds great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:59pm Phillippe Bastille:

Hey DiL!
Avatar 1:01pm Mary Wing:

Thanks, Mark! I am constantly torn between playing the familiar and the unknown; sometimes I want comfort music but I can listen to that any old time so I try to include new sounds as much as I can.
Avatar 1:02pm Mary Wing:

Erp, blew the pronunciation of paradisiacal for sure.
Avatar 1:05pm Mary Wing:

Sem better listen to this archive, is all I'm saying...

Hello, Mary and all! A little sad. Ridgewood Radio is moving to 5pm EDT next week after 3 years as Mary's eccentric neighbor. But good things coming!
Avatar 1:07pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Cheers my fellow David!
Avatar 1:07pm Mary Wing:

Hi David! I'm all choked up about losing my stream buddy, but yes, good things are on the Wednesday horizon. Has it really been 3 years already?
Avatar 1:09pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar 1:11pm Mary Wing:

<3 <3 <3 David! And I have learned much from you as well, with lots more to be absorbed!

As I said, this track is over 40 minutes long, and I've already heard it twice in the last five days, so I'm going to take a quick shower, heh.
Avatar 1:13pm Sylvia (France-NYC):

this is very nice music, Mary, goes well with me working on a website atm
Avatar 1:13pm βrian:

Just harvested the first garlic and basil of the year. Hence pesto!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm brainiac:

I'm enjoying the contemplative side of Bardo Pond, a band that I have always associated with one thing, and that thing is DRUGS!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:16pm Ken From Hyde Park:

FWIW, I applied to adopt the Ruth Booth, but I never got a reply email and the adoption page on Flickr doesn't indicate that any DJs or fixtures have been adopted. I assume the adoption skeleton is too busy.
Swag For Life Member 1:16pm spodiodi:

nice, Brian... yum. we have this basil plant cutting in a jar with water that just keeps on giving. had some kale pesto recently
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm Phillippe Bastille:

I've harvested a few tomatoes and a pepper, but we don't have much of garden
Swag For Life Member 1:22pm spodiodi:

aphids destroyed some basil plants we'd tried to grow (indoors) before. but this one was accidental.

how were they, Phillippe?
Avatar 1:22pm Franco Twinkie:

Clint Takeda who is the bass player in Bardo Pond, had a show on KCBS, the radio station of UC Santa Barbara called Mumbo Jumbo, with his friend Tony Ozuna in the late 80's early 90's. They asked me to come on as a guest to play all my thrift store records. The experience warped me in ways I am still dealing with...in a good way! After the show, we went out for Mexican food on Milpas Street, when Santa Barbara still had a barrio. I love you Clint! You started a fire that has never gone out.
Avatar 1:23pm Sylvia (France-NYC):

@ βrian: PESTO! Yum!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm Phillippe Bastille:

tomatoes great, pepper not so much. The only other thing we planted was a few heads of cabbage. My Bohemian roots, I guess
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm ParUbi:

Hey everyone, hi Mary!
Avatar 1:27pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@Franco - I lived SB 16 years - I wonder if I heard that!
So the East Side is all gentrified or something ?!
Avatar 1:28pm Franco Twinkie:

I don't go there any more, it's to sad.
Swag For Life Member 1:28pm spodiodi:

Phillippe: some of the best tomatoes i've eaten (and helped grow) were from not too far from you -- really amazingly good. i think the wetter soil must help. also with things like melons, etc. what kind of peppers?

ParUbi, hello
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm brainiac:

Hiya @ParUbi: Mary's in the shower just now.
Avatar 1:30pm Sylvia (France-NYC):

so, looks like the DJ left us all with no supervision! :-D
Avatar 1:31pm βrian:

For a number of years we had tomatoes that reached 8 feet on a trellis. Entirely heirloom varieties. But them came the blight. Now only cherry tomatoes.
Avatar 1:32pm βrian:

Eh, "then came" ...
Avatar 1:33pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

@Franco: Wow. How about Cuca's (sp?) on the Westside ??

Avatar 2:24pm Mary Wing:

English jelly does not hang with peanut butter, then?
Avatar 2:25pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:26pm Handy Haversack:

Avatar 2:39pm Mary Wing:

Smooth in one pocket and crunchy in the other?
Swag For Life Member 2:40pm spodiodi:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm brainiac:

Ellen James Society was from Garp, weren't it, HH?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm brainiac:

As opposed to Joe Walsh's James Gang.
Swag For Life Member 2:49pm spodiodi:

Franco, nice B^)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm Handy Haversack:

Yes, from Garp. Then a quite good Atlanta band. Saw them play some in HS.

I used to read a lot of John Irving when I lived in Brooklyn in the 80s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:55pm Handy Haversack:

Do we all go through a John Irving phase in our youth?

That was a great 3 of a kind, Mary! And the rest of this last set is terrific, too! We came in late the previous set, so looking forward to hearing the show from the top on the archive. That Bardo Pond track seems especially intriguiing...

Ridgewood Radio is next, in it's last appearance in this timeslot, boo hoo!
But it has awesome stuff: Keyboard-driven works that develop from a germ and become truly infectious,
by Kris Davis & Craig Taborn, Terry Riley & Don Cherry, and Steve Reich,
with visits from Scott Joplin and Duke Ellington--playlist is here:
