Good, David -- got back in town this afternoon after and almost trafficless entry to the Megalopolis. Covered in mosquito and fly bites, but all totally worth it.

We luncheoned with Wendy del Formaggio in Vermont today! And she was impressed as we plotted our route in our road atlases since we have no tracking devices "helping" us navigate.

Going to order the Delorme for NH/VT soon -- we have NY, MI, ME.

@RevRab, I recall hearing that MeWe swung pretty alt-right when Google Plus was killed by Google. The DIY gaming community was looking for a new homebase, but most people rejected MeWe for its politics. I never really learned any details, though, since I wasn't going to land on any other social media.

I was in Williamsburg one night eating in my car and walking my dog. I was parked right at one of these towers. Of course I could destroy but I did give it the finger as many times as I could. It definitely couldn’t scan my license plates because most of the color is peeled off.

Handy Haversack:

We (Greenpoint) were one of the first places to get them -- maybe because we had FIOS early? I have talked to some people who work for the city and state on the acquisition of the LinkNYC towers, and they really refuse to see them as anything but an unadulterated good, a service for residents. Seems like they just can't see these concerns as legit.

The new and useless ferry landings in NYC have self-driving cars to get people to the landings from the streets. This seems indicative to me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:45pm
WR:

LinkNYC is presented as a replacement of payphones. Having a hard time grasping the economics under which payphones existed. Interesting note in Wikipedia entry for LinkNYC "Daniel L. Doctoroff, the former CEO of Bloomberg L.P. and former New York City Deputy Mayor for Economic Development and Rebuilding, is the CEO of Sidewalk Labs." Which follows: "Intersection is being led by a Sidewalk Labs-led group of investors who operate the company as a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc. that focuses on solving problems unique to urban environments."

My comment is to underline what has already been said on this program.

The conversation you are having with Ben has many threads to be followed.
