Chresti, we just had a heavy rain downpour in NYC. We need more rain though. I think we're too far north for the dust storm. I've heard there's also an idiot wind but across the whole country. // Spodiodi- I get tape jokes all the time. No problem; my cassette deck is in working order, all else is trivial.

SF vibrato technique was definitely a thing. FWIW, one of my friends differentiates between psychedelic ro k and acid rock thusly: psychedelic has 1 electric and 1 acoustic guitar; acid rock is 2 electric guitars. Thoughts?
Avatar 7:03pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Psychedelic is anything you listen to on acid.
:)
From Syd Barrett redefining Songwriting w/ one somewhat rhythmical guitar - to The Beatles overdubbing a 40 piece orchestra a few times.
Avatar 7:05pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

But - the transitions from FolkRawk (bYRdS) to Psych
- & then from Psych to Metal are favorite things of mine to ponder...Clapton saying the Bay Area groups sounded like Peter, Paul & Mary w/ Electrics...
  7:07pm
Carmichael:

Heya Rob and trannies. Good music for cleaning pool filters.
Avatar 7:07pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Acid Rawk implies the Psych to Metal transition
- where the transition from FolkRawk lead into the Studio more perhaps. (Playing Live actually became impossible for The Beatles. & they got worse @ it...)

I've been cooking, so I missed some of this. If I think Yardbirds > Led Zep, then yeah, I could see acid to metal progression. But sure that Black Sabbath, who I adore, would fit that.

San Francisco embraced Cream which in turn smoothed the way for them to conquer the rest of America. Clapton was right about the Peter, Paul and Mary with electric guitars comparison, but I think of that as a good thing instead of a put down

Groovy show!

There are always lines for the Tacos El Bronco truck in my neighborhood in Sunset Pk, Bklyn, even during quarantine. Maybe especially during quarantine. It's good, but I usually try to give some other places some business too.

former mission dweller/sf-ian. Pancho Villa has been my #1 for burritos and chips & salsa since late 80's. Puerto Alegre for margaritas, people watching and group hangs. El Farlito for cheap & delicious 3am tacos and pickles(although i dont think they are open til 4a anymore). La Rondalla (rip) for strong cheap margaritas and a touch of food poisoning to keep you strong. La Cumbre for carne asada.

Oh wow, Burma Star sounds great. Finding Burmese in NYC is actually really difficult. There is a place way out in Rego Park, Queens that is supposed to be great, and I'm seeing search results for a new one in Crown Heights that I've never heard of. I think that's it.
