Favoriting June 25, 2020: Guest DJ: Steven Anderson fills in with a homemade recreation of KNAK Radio SLC, 6/28/1962
One of two CDRs I found planted at the now demolished Deseret Industries thrift store (on 700 S, in SLC) with Steve waiting nearby seeing who would come and pick it up! This was my 2nd encounter with Steve. The full story can be found here: https://utahmedia.tumblr.com/post/51167439595/salt-lake-citys-knak-radio-recreation-an-odd ...First recorded on cassette by Steven Anderson in 2012, using actual KNAK station IDs obtained on tape from the owner of Randy's Records, vinyl commercial radio spots/movie promos from 1962 that he bought off ebay and actual news stories that he looked up from this very date in time. I was more drawn to this disc due to the local interest of it all. It's silly, but I highly admire this DIY effort with very little audience. I may play some of his other radio re-creations at a later date :) In addition, I'll be posting pages of Steve's comics during the show that deal with record collecting :)
