Great thing, the Drummer Disco!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm doctorjazz:

Go David and all! Been here, too busy to post.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm Carmichael:

Heya David and covidians. Whereabouts was that picture taken?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm David Dichelle:

Hey Doctorjazz and Carmichael! The picture is in a park on the outskirts of Leipzig.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22pm David Dichelle:

Bas, absolutely - I've been enjoying the different takes on the Disco myself.
  4:23pm chresti @Griffith Park:

Tennis can be played w/o masks. The biggest problem has been enforcing singles only and the online payment policy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm Stanley:

I'm finally here (sits down with a "that's better")
Hi David and fellow humans.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm dutchtheo:

A fine evening to you, Stanley!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:26pm Stanley:

I see Mory Kanté has left us.
Sad that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm Stanley:

Nice Miles pick
Hi Sem. Hope you are doing well.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm Michael 98145:

sweet
Avatar 4:31pm Sem:

Stanley, I am getting tired of hearing "Who was that masked man?" upon leaving the grocery store, but apart from that we are well here, getting my walks in, and Heather is gardening up a storm on the deck.
I trust you and Mrs.S remain well?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:33pm Brian in UK:

Hello David and those sadden by loss.

Sorry to have missed the Mory Kanté tribute. Sabou is a beautiful call and response record. Pathetic end, as he could not return to Paris for urgent medical treatment. Puts me in mind of Sory Kandia Kouyate, also from Conakry who died too early.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:34pm Brian in UK:

@dutchtheo, Jimmy Cobb played on my first jazz purchase; Coltrane Jazz.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39pm doctorjazz:

Cobb, tribute, huh? Wonderful!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39pm David Dichelle:

Hello Brian, yes a sad story.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:41pm Michael 98145:

such a great, great track
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:41pm dutchtheo:

I think my first was also by Coltrane, on an Italian record, I grandi di jazz with this Naima, My Favourite things, Olé and Giant Steps
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm Brian in UK:

I used to know a chap called Roly Kerridge, who always was tapping out a beat on whatever came to hand. When I had a copy of Akwaba Beach the drummer was Roland Kerridge. Turns out he also played in a pop outfit called Re-Flex and lastly with Gilbert O'Sullivan. Poor soul died of I believe a brain tumour. Another gone too soon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm Stanley:

Glad to hear that, Sem. We're okay. Finding a couple of positives each day. Today's - had a good night's sleep and Viccy cooked supper! Both unusual but nice happenings.

Hi Brian.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:46pm Brian in UK:

Stanley. Still nose to the grindstone? Guess you did not go to the beach like so many numbnuts yesterday.
Avatar 4:47pm Sem:

:-D

Aspargus tonight from the garden, and more tatties in the ground, BiUK.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:49pm Michael 98145:

uh oh
Swag For Life Member 4:49pm spodiodi:

whoa
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm David Dichelle:

Let's hope that's the only one for a while.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm Michael 98145:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:50pm Brian in UK:

Sem, it is soooo dry here after all that rain earlier in the year. No balance. Hmmm asparagus, just steamed? Think our tats survived the frost damage.
Avatar 4:50pm Bas NL:

Web pirate radio..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm Brian in UK:

Put up your aerials.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:52pm Michael 98145:

when was/is that rocket supposed to blast off?
Avatar 4:52pm Sem:

Yes, a light steaming only.
Dry here also: look at this monster high pressure area.
earth.nullschool.net...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:54pm Stanley:

Brian - still lots of work on. Made my weekly trip to the office to pick up/return files, do some payrolls and furlough grant claims.
I avoided the beach. I cannot understand people's thinking crowding the beach, queuing up for ices and so on.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:55pm Brian in UK:

Sem, south east Greenland really takes a beating.
Avatar 4:57pm Bas NL:

My first day at work today. Quiet, near empty building with large yellow warning signs everywhere.. Bit SciFi.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm Brian in UK:

David, great tribute. Give the drummer some.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57pm Michael 98145:

Yes. Like a poorly-scripted SciFi film.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:58pm Michael 98145:

This IS a wonderful set.
Avatar 4:59pm Bas NL:

@Michael Yup.. poorly-scripted indeed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01pm Carmichael:

I have come to work every day, the only person in the building. It's a bit end of the world like. And to boot, it's been over 100F the last few days; no respite till Thursday.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:02pm Michael 98145:

@Bas, at least your avatar always makes me smile.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03pm Michael 98145:

looks like the SW US is beginning to bake a bit early this year
Avatar 5:03pm Bas NL:

It's good eh? My sister is very good at drawing cartoons.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:05pm Brian in UK:

A jazz helicopter. Wow.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:11pm chresti:

It's in the 90s today, and smoggy, @SGV
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:21pm Carmichael:

How did you survive the courts, Chresti?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:21pm David Dichelle:

Were people able to play tennis in that weather?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm David Dichelle:

Thanks Michael and Brian (above) - missed a few comments there...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm Michael 98145:

Looks like PHX is going to be near 110F/43C all this week.
Swag For Life Member 5:30pm spodiodi:

yikes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:42pm Michael 98145:

Lovely. Can't recall the last time we listened to harpsichord.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:43pm David Dichelle:

Yes, we all need more harpsichord in our lives. I was always fascinated by the instrument myself.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:44pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Hello all. On the Express today, David!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm David Dichelle:

Hey there Kevin!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:45pm Michael 98145:

Thank you again.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm David Dichelle:

:-)
Avatar 5:54pm Sem:

Feel as though I am not dressed up sufficiently to be listening to this wonderful music.
My stop. Thank you, David, for this show. Hope to see you and all next time round the loop. G'night.
Avatar 5:54pm Really Lisa:

This really has been a treat! Looking forward to listening to the first set (missed - pesky meeting) via archives in the morning :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55pm chresti:

Thanks for the swell ride, David!
Avatar 5:55pm Bas NL:

Fantastic harpsichord piece indeed!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55pm Carmichael:

Any instrument that Lurch plays is all right with me.
Avatar 5:56pm Bas NL:

Thanks David! Great show!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm Stanley:

Grief, we've reached the terminus.
Time to get off. Thanks David. Good night all
