The reason I ask about NYC: been dealing with loud noise from drag racers for over a month now. Made complaints. I heard from a person in another part of the city who has the same thing. It's about to drive me looney.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19pm

I haven't had any drag racers in my neighborhood (Bushwick). Just the usual wall rumbling bass from car stereos, but that comes with the territory.

Chris Farrell:

Psychomodo was a good plug for me last week. I suppose I have Jim O’Rourke to thank for that.

If Alex Trebeck dies they should replace him with a hologram of himself so there is only one Jeopardy host. I had a Jeopardy computer game once so I know the technology is there.

That is where I heard about a whinny
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:45pm

How was the subway, TDK? I haven't been on the train since late March.

Linda exactly right. my sister's been looking to move up by me (us) and been holding out for over 9 months on a house that they never lowered the price on in all that time.

Chris Farrell:

He does have a way about him, I came to conclusion it’s done in the mission of the show. The whole editing of Jeopardy is fascinating.

Alex often comes across super smart because he knows the answer. I’ll have to ask my parents about Al Fleming, my dad was always home when Jeopardy was on so I would watch it. Too bad I didn’t take to it as I grew.
Avatar 11:03pm

  11:05pm
Dean:

Buddy of mine was on Jeopardy a long time ago. Trebek asked him about having been in a punk band. "Why punk?" My buddy answered something like, "Because I'm an anarchist, Alex." Trebek gave him the most dismissive look. My buddy won, too.
Avatar 11:05pm

Linda @11.02 that's what she said(!) she figured on a large house with many upgrades/new equipment and 3 acres of land that can be divided in 2; and being within 5 (?) miles of the train to the city -being pretty tempting.

There was a map in the Times tracing where New Yorkers went when they fled the city, and how it tracks the spread of the virus across the country.

Likely there'll be a tremendous shake up after all of this...small businesses will be on life support, if they survive. Plenty of big companies, especially if they were involved in leveraged buy outs previously, are going under as well. Gonna be a whole new world.

  11:33pm
Dean:

Maybe it depends on what we mean by "whole new world." Many argue that the Internet and WWW have ushered in a whole new world. I do not. Similarly, I think we will eventually address this particular crisis, *perhaps* we'll prepare better for future risks of the same, and we'll return pretty much to our former circumstances.
