A two-hour exploration of excavations from the farthest reaches of humanity's hellish collective brain, through records, tapes, CDs, mostly scoured from country bumpkin thrift stores, creepy charity shops, backwoods junk stores, and even the internet - all mixed live. We don't judge, we just play 'em. Hosted by Rich in Washington.

Howdy folks!
I'll be with you shortly! Make yourselves at home! Don't let the cat out, he's been going into the neighbor's window lately!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:28pm Rich in Washington:

If the persistent skipping that was going on on Don-O's show continues, I will just push on and will restore the show's archive later, as I'm recording live. Hope you will stick with me, either way!
Avatar 6:53pm StringOFperils:

Good luck.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:56pm Rich in Washington:

Thanks, StringOFperils! Here's hoping!
Avatar 7:02pm Don-O:

Alright, let's see what happens here. NOT that I'm wishing anything bad here, just to see if I'm the only one having this problem.....oh, and hey, Rich.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:30pm Rich in Washington:

I know the feeling, spodiodi. Sometimes I just have so many plates spinning at once and I can't check in here as often as I'd like.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:31pm Otis in Montreal:

Rising and raising my glass of cool fresh sparkling water to everyone and howdy Spodiodi!
  8:32pm CC:

it's hard for me to say hi to everybody so I just want to say hi to everybody!!!...:)
Avatar 8:32pm spacebrother:

Hey Spodiodi. I finally looked it up, since I just know your name from the song: "a shot that has a layer of Port Wine on the bottom, then a layer of (cheap) bourbon, finished on the top by another layer of Port."
Avatar 8:33pm StringOFperils:

Avatar 8:46pm spodiodi:

hi, GrannyST!
Avatar 8:47pm spodiodi:

that's great, Aitch
Avatar 8:47pm spacebrother:

@ Otis - Been on the wishlist since I saw your setup.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:49pm Otis in Montreal:

It never stops, since that time I picked up another 2. Have 5 turntables here now, 3 hooked up weekly for shows and 2 on the side for one day when guests will come over and spin again... or I may just bounce off walls soon and run all 5.
  8:52pm CC:

I'm old but I like the turntables that have the laser light to keep everything going the speed you want it to!!!... even with power surges!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:52pm Rich in Washington:

I am really tempted to make room for a third turntable. So much more flexibility when I just do stuff on the fly.
Avatar 8:54pm spacebrother:

I have 3 other TTs, but they are not cueable. My favorite is a Rega Planar 3.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Sounding great! I've been listening for awhile but just now popping in to say howdy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:55pm Otis in Montreal:

So much more... cue up that spoken interlude or talkover music and more room for mistakes with physical media, yay! I make a good 5 on average weekly with the wrong speed or bad needle drop, etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:55pm Otis in Montreal:

Helter Stupid, yes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:55pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

And yeah, third turntable!!!!
Avatar 8:55pm spacebrother:

Maybe I can incorporate a "mistake" TT into the system!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56pm Rich in Washington:

We were just talking about this album the other day.
Avatar 8:57pm spacebrother:

THE HUMAN RADIO STATION!
Avatar 8:58pm StringOFperils:

Good to have one turntable for really nasty vinyl, so you don't violate your better cartridges and styli....those thrift store records can be demanding.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:59pm Otis in Montreal:

SoP... yes for sure. I have a needle for that I screw on for really beat up records that are going back in a box back to the thrift after playing.
Avatar 8:59pm spodiodi:

thanks, Rich!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:00pm Otis in Montreal:

Grannnnnyyyyy, scroll up the thread. We got your postcard and it is spectacular pen pal! Yayyy!
Avatar 9:00pm spacebrother:

Nice show Rich! Catch you soon!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:00pm Granny Spicy Tuna (e/em):

Otis in Montreal: oh yay! That's great!!!!
  9:00pm CC:

Well... when you are alive you just drop the needle down on the record and you hit it in the right place or you don't ...but everyone understands and it only takes a second to get it right...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:01pm Otis in Montreal:

Hey Rich, you have a good weekend palee. See ya and thanks for the hollers!
Avatar 9:01pm StringOFperils:
