A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Hi Trouble and Listeners! I'm not trying to make this a topic this week, but just wanted to mention - I collated the book list from last week's chat. It's in a Google spreadsheet you can access if you click on my polyhedral pizza icon. And you can add more there if you want.

Hey gang, Handy, Phillippe, P20 (again), sphere et al.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09am p20:

The list started with people mentioning their all-time favorites, but shifted toward dystopian sci-fi ("The Stand", etc). I find that right now, I have very little taste for dystopia... I've been reading Chateaubriand and Proust for pure escape.

The first half was translated by Joseph Kresh. The material from 1914 on was translated by Martin Greenberg under the guidance of Hannah Arendt. I don't have the German open next to it, but really haven't felt the need to. It's moves back and forth between the nightmarish and quotidian. The dreams are really interesting, and I just passed the point were he met Rudolf Steiner
