Martinibomb:

Hi Jason
  11:01am
Martinibomb:

You are broadcasting on the Test stream and not the main stream. But sound good so far... haven't heard the mic yet.
Avatar 11:01am
Jason Elbogen:

Hi Erik, MIXX says I am connected, but I'm not broadcasting.
Avatar 11:01am
Jason Elbogen:

ok hold on
  11:01am
Martinibomb:

I'm listening to you on the test stream.. check my note about it on slack
  11:03am
Martinibomb:

you are still connecting to the test stream
  11:07am
Martinibomb:

There ya are! yay sounds like you are up and running on the main stream now
Avatar 11:09am
Julien à Montréal:

Yeah!

fred:

The bed music sounds familiar
  11:09am
Martinibomb:

here there ya are I can hear ya
  11:10am
Martinibomb:

you got a little wifi drop in/out for a sec.. but ya know keep going hopefully it gets better.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11am
fred:

Same here, many dropouts, I mean more than usual
  11:12am
Martinibomb:

@fred dropouts caused mostly likely by his wifi. I get it if I don't plug direct into internet router.
Avatar 11:13am
Jason Elbogen:

So, are the dropouts during the music, too?
Avatar 11:13am
Jason Elbogen:

hey Fred, how are you? ok in France?
  11:14am
Martinibomb:

Other than the dropouts everythng is fine. Yeah they are thru the music. It's the wifi. This happens to all those who wifi broadcast. wifi is a little on the unreliable side.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15am
fred:

Some dropouts have the stream going to the dougbot
Other than that, I'm adjusting to working from home, tough to my knees because I don't have furniture, and I miss the weirdo composers at work, and the gigs, and the dance shows. I will get better
  11:16am
Martinibomb:

your work sounds fun @fred
Avatar 11:16am
Jason Elbogen:

So, can I circumvent the wifi somehow?
  11:17am
Martinibomb:

ethernet cable from computer to router. It's just wifi has many variables... DJ GeorgyGirl sits right next to her wifi with no option to plug in and she still gets drop outs
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18am
fred:

@Martinibomb: only the composers are part of my job (even then, not really, we just happen to be in the same place)
  11:19am
Martinibomb:

Must be maybe the theatre industry you are in? I am guessing
  11:21am
jack:

Hi jason - listening in my basement bunker here in Ann Arbor
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am
fred:

@Martinibomb: I work at a research lab on music that also is a contemporary music center. It's called IRCAM, in Paris, France.
Well I'm not working there today, obviously, we're on lockdown
Avatar 11:25am
Jason Elbogen:

Ok, so I hear it cutting in and out, too, on my cellphone... Sorry, I'll try to get this figured out by next week...
  11:25am
jack:

Sounds like weird al is trying to bust into this synth jam - or am I just picking him up through my fillings or something
  11:26am
Martinibomb:

ooh wow! I am very impressed. I know all about IRCAM.
Avatar 11:26am
Jason Elbogen:

Jack! That's funny, I started reading Fat Men From Outer Space to Jacob last week.
  11:26am
jack:

an important work!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28am
Jan Turkenburg:

omg that was one satanic laugh!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:28am
fred:

Hang in there, Jason! It wouldn't be your show without some technical difficulties
  11:28am
Martinibomb:

it wouldn't be radio without problems! exactly - stupid perfect podcasts blaaah boring
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29am
Jan Turkenburg:

Hi everyone, by the way!
  11:30am
Martinibomb:

hi Jan! Any tips for helping jason get less wifi drop outs?
  11:30am
mzmzz:

hi, jason. Did you finally figure it out?
Avatar 11:33am
Jason Elbogen:

Too Soon?
  11:34am
jack:

I'm really enjoying this show - jacob plus the random audio cutting in is pushing the whole thing further into the avant garde. Verlaines song may be too soon, but it's been leavened by random bursts of 1940s marijuana
R&B maybe?
  11:34am
Martinibomb:

^ I am really loving it too! Totally
  11:36am
mzmzz:

gggreat show, really. Fantastic randomness.
  11:36am
Martinibomb:

I think Jacob improved the wifi bring him back in
  11:46am
mzmzz:

jason, do not skip this show to be archived. i mean it.
Avatar 11:46am
Jason Elbogen:

Fred- Jacob just pointed at your Icon and said 'what's that red guy'?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49am
fred:

@Jason: it's not actually a guy, it's Ann Lee, an anime character bought by contemporary artists. Long story, with interesting twists about what's property in art
  11:50am
Martinibomb:

jacob sounds hilarious with all that delay LOL
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50am
fred:

J&J do sound a bit like Rex now
  11:57am
jack:

This show now has more of a "morning zoo" quality, now that you have a crazy sidekick and are discussing current events
Avatar 12:02pm
Mr Fab:

Well hey there, everybody!

I wonder if that Yo! is the same band who had some college radio popularity in the '80s.
Avatar 12:06pm
Jason Elbogen:

Fab - I don't think it's the same... I think it's a solo project of a British weirdo...
  12:14pm
Martinibomb:

i gotta find a copy of Yo Shot into Space that was a cool
Avatar 12:20pm
Jason Elbogen:

ooops, sorry everyone. my bad eyes failed me again. It's YoL not Yo! (as in the letter 'L'
Avatar 12:21pm
Jason Elbogen:

his album is name-your-price on bandcamp
yolnoise.bandcamp.com...
  12:23pm
Mr Fab:

Ah, ok. So the '80s band can stop drafting their cease-and-desist.
Avatar 12:37pm
Mr Fab:

Great tune! I like how that album's called "My Bible Is Right." Like, I don't know about YOUR Bible, but...
  12:40pm
Martinibomb:

Thanks Jason! Just grabbed it
Avatar 12:41pm
Jason Elbogen:

Fab - yes! I've actually played the title track before, it's pretty great for the reason you're alluding to--and I'll play it again next (since I'm home I have all my music with me--usually I rip CD's of tracks)
Avatar 12:52pm
Mr Fab:

Probly not too likely that I'll ever find that album but I'll certainly grab it if i do.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm
fred:

The mic volume is so low
  1:01pm
Martinibomb:

you are louder.. is there a speaker on? Is that why it's feeding back?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm
fred:

The Jasonosaurus Rex is back!
Avatar 1:01pm
Mr Fab:

Sounding good! I like the trippy fx.
  1:02pm
Martinibomb:

It's okay Jason don't worry about it. This is why we have the test stream to figure this kind of thing out with.
Avatar 1:17pm
Mr Fab:

Loved that Panama street recording, what a jam. (But then again, I thought that "Crowd Rain Chant" was one of the highlights of the "Woodstock" album.)
  1:23pm
Martinibomb:

@Fab I just got iziCast that ios app the developer of BUTT makes. Was going to experiment with doing a show entirely from an ipad.
  1:31pm
Martinibomb:

hah! that was easy. broadcasting from my ipad on the test stream right now.
Avatar 1:36pm
Jason Elbogen:

Martin... Can I end the show just close by closing the MIXX program on my desktop? Or do I need to go to broadcast settings?
Avatar 1:39pm
Thibault:

Hi Jason! How are you?
I hope everyone is fine.
  1:39pm
Martinibomb:

@Jason that Satellite button is a toggle. So you just click it again to disconnect. and then quit mixxx. Double check that the next DJ had no issues before you go about your day. It's possible to accidntally connect and not know it and walk away leaving the other Djs locked out.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm
fred:

Speak closer to the mic Jason!
Avatar 1:41pm
Thibault:

Yes, we barely hear you!
  1:43pm
Martinibomb:

@fred he gets feedback if he gets to close. His system is not dialed in yet...
Avatar 1:45pm
Jason Elbogen:

Sorry for all the technical Issues... Hopefully have things worked out for next week.
Avatar 1:51pm
Jason Elbogen:

Fred, I realize you haven't heard my 'French' today. I'll correct that for the last song.
Avatar 1:55pm
ARB:

Hi Jason and everyone! got my hands full so can't chat but tuned in and dropping in to say hi!
Avatar 1:55pm
Mr Fab:

Tech issues did not detract from me really enjoying the show.
Avatar 1:57pm
ARB:

I agree
  1:58pm
Martinibomb:

yeah you sound fine right now
Avatar 1:58pm
Thibault:

yes we hear you fine now! And Jacob too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm
fred:

Stop indoctrinating your child into..? OK, as long as it's whatever, keep going
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm
fred:

Thanks Jason (and Jacob)
