Your mentioning of:
2 hrs of #1 hit music reminds me...
Put together with yesterday,
You are giving us 5 hours of

Given you usually have a week to dig up 2 hrs of Michael approved tunes, what was that like?

@clarke – yeah, if choosing 10$ a month on the WFMU pledge site, I can choose up to 12 shows (one for ever 10$) and will get 1 DJ premium – but it doesn't specify from which one it will be and you there's no choosing option. But whatever, I'll figure this out. Thanks again for the info!

@zivilars: As I recall, you can add one show for each $10 pledged? And spread your support around. We were trying to figure it out, and Kate kept saying, "And [this show]! And [this show]!" Eventually, "We just love too much."

So, you know, the process is fraught. One ends up doing a lot of self-reflection!

my my first "concert" was Don & the Good Times at the Medford (Oregon) Armory.

@Handy My nieghbour regularly canoes across the Ottawa river to a city-owned island where he has built a summer camp for himself. I've been over a couple times and it is amazing, so if you, yourself, ever get up this way, hit me up and I'll arrange a visit.

Dang, Michael, say the word! (Once it's warm!) Last summer or the one before, I was trying to organize a paddling day for WFMU DJs and volunteers -- I can go back to that effort! But also available to take you and a smaller group out whenever you want!

@GiO: You better believe I will!

@Michael: Kate and I are coming down to volunteer during Todd's show 3/14. Maybe we can chat about canoeing chances then.

Handy - that does sound amazing! Urban canoeing in NYC - WOW! And GIO - that also sounds amazing! Assuming I won't get scoffed at for bringing my kayak (as opposed to canoe) ;P

Love this Bangles album, and tune. I'm still waiting for the Go-Go/Bangles co-headlining tour. They've played on each other's albums & written songs together (& Vicki filled in for Charlotte on a Go-Gos tour once) so I keep thinking it's going to happen. And the Bangles now have their original bass player back (who's on the first EP).

@ Handy & @GIO - I am looking at purchasing a few acres w/ cabin on the river on a north-south route that takes you up to North Bay, just outside the western gate of Algonquin Park - has some small outbuildings I was dreaming of converting into bunkies and setting up a kind of way station for paddlers, trekkers, et al - keep you posted if I manage to pull it all together...

@Spinning Giant, that sounds SO lovely. Please do keep us posted! I have a lot of Canada exploring in my future, I fervently hope.

And the offer in NYC stands: just let me know!

@DJ Guin: That's remarkably close!

Great show and that Spanish Perfume in particular was a treat. For what it's worth, I think details about which toms are part of the Bangles sound is good and interesting info. I like learning details of the making of art.
