Bloop! Here I am!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:00pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Hello! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:01pm Linda Lee:

hi Greg!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:01pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

It was super smooth!
Avatar 7:03pm spodiodi:

radio set on stun!
Avatar 7:04pm spacebrother:

Hey Fab, Rich, GG, Linda, spodi!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm Linda Lee:

how are you, Greg?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm Linda Lee:

always confusing Jimmie with Eddie here. Eddie looks good behind a guitar, though.
Avatar 7:05pm spacebrother:

I'm recovering, probably always will be. Generally OK. Thank you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Good job we'll always be here for ya then :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:06pm Rich in Washington:

Hi spacebrother!
I do that a lot too, sort of make selections for my show based on what pops up on my player during the week. I guess I no longer carry enormous amounts of music and switch it out as frequently since I stopped using iOS devices.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:06pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

This is a bit Joe Meek-ey - I like! :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:06pm Linda Lee:

yes, you will. glad you're generally ok.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:07pm Rich in Washington:

Music is healing. Even music that makes you not stop hitting yourself. Glad you're back. Do what you gotta do.
Avatar 7:08pm spodiodi:

android world or open-source alt, Rich in Washington?
Avatar 7:08pm Mr Fab:

Not J Meek, but it IS another Brit master of the studio, George Martin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:09pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I go into YouTube music holes and make tons of notes for themes and record connections. Hours and hours and hours. :-)
Avatar 7:09pm spodiodi:

i like Waltz In Orbit already
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:09pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Aha! Joe worked under him for a bit :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:10pm Rich in Washington:

Android. And on a Mac. It's sort of awkward to switch out music on my device easily. I'm thinking about getting a dedicated media player just for music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:12pm Linda Lee:

this is fabulous. their electric harmonicas!
Avatar 7:12pm spodiodi:

i hear you, Rich -- just curious. my iOS days have been numbered for a while
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:12pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I am enjoying the absolute beejeesus out of this music!
Avatar 7:13pm spodiodi:

i wonder how many versions of Caravan are out there. this one is nice
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:13pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Caravan is like the Yesterday of Lounge ;-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:13pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Christine Pilzer!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:13pm Linda Lee:

oh Petey Dracula!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:15pm Linda Lee:

he's laughin' cos she calls him Petey.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:15pm Rich in Washington:

I liked the ease of moving stuff from iTunes onto my iPod, later a Touch, and ultimately an iPhone but got tired of Apple's shitty practice of putting cash-strapped consumers on this upgrade-or-die treadmill. Plus I really like Android.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:17pm Linda Lee:

this is fabulous. super tasty.
Avatar 7:18pm spodiodi:

nice anology, DJ GG. more than 5 versions: secondhandsongs.com...
... Rich, yeah it's a lame treadmill, to be sure
Avatar 7:18pm Mr Fab:

i think King Horror, whoever he/they may be, made like only 5 songs, all monster/horror related. All great.
Avatar 7:19pm spacebrother:

Sorry, tending to so many things at once. I do LIVE.
Avatar 7:19pm spacebrother:

I wonder who King Horror was, actually?
Avatar 7:19pm spodiodi:

loving the LIVE vibes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:19pm Linda Lee:

no fears. do what you do, brother man.
Avatar 7:20pm Mr Fab:

wow, spodiodi, WFMU needs a whole "Caravan" stream!
Avatar 7:20pm Martinibomb:

Beautiful set today
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:20pm Linda Lee:

Mr Fab had it right! Ray Cathode was George Martin!
Avatar 7:21pm spodiodi:

Mr. Fab, i think you're right
Avatar 7:21pm spodiodi:

i also wouldn't mind a Popcorn stream
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm Rich in Washington:

Yeah. Something about Reggae/Ska with horror or kung fu themes. It cannot miss.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

A Popcorn stream? Oh dear God no ...
Avatar 7:22pm spodiodi:

:D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:22pm Rich in Washington:

I think somebody DID compile all the Popcorn covers, either on the old, now dormant WFMU blog or elsewhere.
Avatar 7:23pm spodiodi:

yeah, that page is still out there, afaik, Rich in Wash.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:23pm Rich in Washington:

This is wonderful!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:23pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Well I hope they're thoroughly ashamed of themselves. lol
Avatar 7:23pm spodiodi:

thar she blows: blog.wfmu.org...
Avatar 7:24pm spodiodi:

no one has a head
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:24pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

There are only two records in this world that bring me out in hives, and Popcorn is one of them ;-)
Avatar 7:24pm Mr Fab:

I have an album by The Mulcays ‎– A Kiss In The Dark. Pretty boring, not nearly as cool as that "Caravan" cover.
Avatar 7:25pm spacebrother:

I won't do a "Popcorn" show then.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25pm Linda Lee:

so this begs the question, GG: what's the other one?
Avatar 7:25pm spodiodi:

Linda Lee asks a good question
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Pretty In Pink
Avatar 7:25pm spodiodi:

delightful
Avatar 7:26pm spodiodi:

down, down
Avatar 7:26pm spodiodi:

beep
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:27pm Linda Lee:

now I have to remember how that goes .. because I have forgotten. the furs, right?
Avatar 7:27pm spodiodi:

Jon Cryer in Pretty in Pink gives me hives
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:27pm Rich in Washington:

This is freaking hilarious!
Avatar 7:27pm spodiodi:

love the roborock
Avatar 7:27pm Mr Fab:

An all Peter Gunn theme- inspired set or show could work. Inc. that version of "Planet Claire" of course.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:27pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Tow - els is going to be my word of the week :-)
Avatar 7:27pm spodiodi:

this one goes into the faves bin
Avatar 7:27pm spacebrother:

@ Fab - YESS
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:28pm Linda Lee:

dowb. ... dowb.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:28pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Everyone who's ever made me a cassette has made it their mission in life to put Pretty In Pink on it just to wind me up. lol
Avatar 7:29pm spodiodi:

good friends
Avatar 7:30pm spacebrother:

The fact that this is slightly off tempo and key was probably on purpose and is genius.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:30pm Linda Lee:

bet it wasn't! best they could do!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:30pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I'm singing along nevertheless :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:31pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Ah, the theme to the current virus - My Corona! ;-)
Avatar 7:32pm spacebrother:

LOLOL
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:32pm Linda Lee:

i get my hives from 'my sharona'.
Avatar 7:32pm spacebrother:

@Linda - Good, you'll get more coming up. Sorry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:32pm Rich in Washington:

Aviador Dro looks fascinating! I've never heard of them before!
Avatar 7:33pm spodiodi:

lol -- i like Cheech Marin's version of My Sharona in Up in Smoke
Avatar 7:34pm spodiodi:

robots/cyborgs represent
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm Rich in Washington:

HA! I was also thinking of that, spodiodi!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm Linda Lee:

i'll withstand it just for you, Greg.
Avatar 7:34pm spodiodi:

i can't hear the guitar without hearing Cheech, Rich
Avatar 7:35pm Mr Fab:

Ha, was just thinking of the Polysics' killer version.
Avatar 7:36pm spodiodi:

just say "Hey, Pendejo!" -- it means My good Friend
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36pm Linda Lee:

Avatar 7:36pm spodiodi:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43pm Linda Lee:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44pm Linda Lee:

Avatar 7:46pm Mr Fab:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Avatar 7:47pm spodiodi:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm Linda Lee:

Avatar 7:48pm spodiodi:

Linda Lee, you're not kidding.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm Linda Lee:

honestly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:49pm Rich in Washington:

The Graduate is definitely on my must see again list.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50pm Linda Lee:

i was shocked. :-D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm Linda Lee:

the poor kid, though. so clueless.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52pm Rich in Washington:

This is really peculiar. I like it!

Avatar 7:56pm Mr Fab:

I watched "Space 1999" as a kid, but haven't seen it since. I know I'm dating myself. (But it wouldn't be the first time I've dated myself, har har)
Avatar 7:56pm spodiodi:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm Linda Lee:

Avatar 7:58pm spodiodi:

i had never even heard of Space 1999 until Hamazon (i think) threw it at us
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:58pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

There was a sort of sequel to it called UFO - both Gerry Anderson creations, of Thunderbirds etc fame
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:59pm Rich in Washington:

GG: How did I miss that you have that wonderful blog?
Avatar 7:59pm spodiodi:

Star Trek and BSG were my big space shows as a kid, i guess -- esp star trek, which i grew up watching with my uncle, who i admired very much - great memories
Avatar 7:59pm Martinibomb:

Thanks Greg! Great having you back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:00pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Dig the 4 hours of Otis tomorrow. See ya then, gang!
Avatar 8:05pm spacebrother:

DEVO loves Polysics so much that they were the music on hold if you called Mothersbaugh's company Mutato Muzika.
