Hey, Creamo, Blastards, enjoying the plush percussion that seemes to have been sucked up into the vacuum.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm Andrew_in_WI:

Who's playing drums in this track?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm mariano:

Was *just* thinking "What a lovely day for a Merzbow tune."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm blee:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm Krys O.:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm TomDash:

Ahhh, nice calming noise music for a chilly/cloudy day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm ultradamno:

Probably Masami, I think that's his main instrument aside from electronics
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm ParUbi:

It does help energize the old noggin

Hello Creamo and buddy-ol'-pals!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm ultradamno:

Maybe play some of those isolated electronic wind sounds from The Residents' Eskimo Deconstructed to accompany the unseasonable arctic blast.
Avatar 3:16pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

was away.
now back.
you may freely rejoice.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm tim from champaign (now washington):

What has Neil Campbell been associated with? His name rings a bell. Vibracathedral Orchestra?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm TomDash:

Can't wait to hear the Paint Thinner set - new record rules...

Ah! Thanks, ultra.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27pm zopa:

@RTD: Huzzah!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm Webhamster Henry:

Slightly interrupted, indeed - it was Hezekiah Jenkins - Shout You Cats
Avatar 3:32pm Creamo Coyl:

Yeah Vibracathedral + other mentioned.

PT at 4 PM.
Avatar 3:35pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

ram effin' das!
  3:39pm drone zone:

bahahahaha i'm doing some HILARIOUS "employee orientation" video training thing in the background while listening. all the noise was synchronized quite nicely already but the screaming about customer service while i'm being simultaneously indoctrinated about customer service was just over the top ridiculous
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm ultradamno:

What IS the meaning of life?
Avatar 3:41pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Read the Ivers biography recently. Perfect timing that this material has been reissued.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm tim from champaign (now washington):

Very cool that Peter Ivers' music is being re-issued. I read an interesting book about him a few years back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm ultradamno:

Ivers was a close friend of National Lampoon's Douglas Kenney, whose death is also shrouded in mystery.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm ultradamno:

Avatar 3:42pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

HAH! synchro-tim.
Title was "In Heaven Everything Is Fine: The Unsolved Life of Peter Ivers and the Lost History of New Wave Theatre" ... quite a read. Woven in was the whole thread about the failed investigation on the murder etc. But GOD, that show was the best thing for a young Rev.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm ultradamno:

There's a book about New Wave Theater producer David Jove called Freedom Spy that might interest you. It's not especially well written but contains some interesting information.
  3:46pm David in London:

Greetings Blastards.
Avatar 3:47pm thormagma:

I remember the first Anthony Bourdain piece he published kinda touched on how 1977-79 was both the best time for music but also the most embarrassing and shitty time for almost anything else. The era of Ron Jeremy, something like that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm ultradamno:

Opened for Fleetwood Mac, disastrously
Avatar 3:50pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Jove's video-edit segue bits were magical. Dude was nuts.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm ultradamno:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm ultradamno:

Good doc on Nance called You Don't Know Jack that's worth looking at.
Avatar 3:52pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

grinning like a fool.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:53pm ultradamno:

Yeah, this is nice.
Avatar 3:53pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Was it this show within the last few weeks, someone mentioned that book on the '80s UK anarcho-punk scene(?) .. Got my copy from the publisher (better karma than amazon, surely), & so far it's a total kick.
Avatar 3:54pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55pm ultradamno:

That was me, you can also get a Penny Rimbaud book at Amazon www.amazon.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm ultradamno:

There's another book called The Book of Crass and a Nick Blinko novel.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm Rich in Washington:

The Gee Vaucher book Crass Art and Other Pre Post-Modernist Monsters is back in print for those who don't want to pay book collector prices for it.
Avatar 3:56pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Belated thanks for that, U.Dammo. The bits on Flux of Pink Indians & Rubella Ballet = lovely stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm ultradamno:

Err, Story of Crass, that is.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm tim from champaign (now washington):

@RTD - I was just wondering who asked about that book. I'm really digging this Iconoclast. There was a shitty 90s US hardcore band called Iconoclast that were pretty boring.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm ultradamno:

I remember telling my x-tian high school art teacher about G. Sus and she immediately said "spell it".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm ultradamno:

One of the bands of that era I find myself revisiting a lot are Amebix.
Avatar 4:00pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

The only issue I took with the anarcho-punk book was the author sh*tting all over YES SIR, I WILL by Crass. It's one of my favorites by anybody, an infinite classic. A perfect LP. Memorized the whole damned thing when it came out (RIP teen angst)
  4:01pm David in London:

And a compendium called ‘The Aesthetics of Our Anger’ about Crass. You should still be able to download that free online (rather than fork out for it on Amazon). First chapter by yours truly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Good day, Mr. Blastralopithecus!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:03pm ultradamno:

@Rev I agree. I think a lot of the hardcores who only knew Penis Envy didn't like it, but it crossed over a lot with noise people I knew.
Avatar 4:04pm CrankyOldMisterLenny:

ROACH MOTEL! Local Heroes in GVL, FL! Never heard on the radio, never thought I WOULD. This is SOMETHING. I have heard this live, in my own house....
  4:11pm egould310:

Thanks Creamo for the maximum punk n roll set.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:13pm tim from champaign (now washington):

I always enjoyed George Tabb's MRR columns. Funny, self-deprecating and educational!
Avatar 4:15pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

& thanks tribe for the other Crass reading material leads.
Much to catch up on.
