Thanks Jett! P.P. will be sharing about her time with the Ikettes.

"Come Home Baby" I hope you could play this single. It has PP Arnold and her backing band on that single is most of the Rolling Stones.

giorgio and donna! thanks for the dance break, Sheila!
  3:17pm Jocelyn:

Phillipe, I’m tired but fabulous. Stayed up until dawn devouring Debbie Harry’s book. How is everything there?
  3:17pm Jett:

Ike was ruthless, it would not surprise me. I do admire his musical talent, but what a jerk!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm tim from champaign:

Whoa! Sheila, I know you like positive feedback for your segues but the Georgia to Donna transition was something else! I was totally lost in space from the Georgia track and didn't realize it was a new song until Donna started singing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm Passaic River Blues:

This is some top-notch Giorgio Moroder production here.

I can't believe I'm hearing this! Thank you, Sheila!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm tim from champaign:

OK, I'm starting to see connections here. The Immediate logo on the PP Arnold album cover reminded my of The Jam, then Sheila said PP's song-writing partner also works with Paul Weller and then RRN said PP sand with Steve Marriott who is a huge influence on Paul Weller.
  3:40pm Jett:

The answer to an early question is P.P. Arnold released it around May of 1967, I believe Cat released it around October of 1967. He wrote it, but P.P. released it first! Patricia Ann Cole.

nodding my head in agreement with your thoughts on fall, that is also starting right at the same time these days (despite weird hot temperatures every other day, during the day) way over here, around halfway across the globe from wfmu (I find myself focusing on weather talk now when I never thought I would before. Must be that global warming sting!) ;

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm tim from champaign:

I lived in Lubbock Texas for 9 months at the beginning of this decade. There was a restaurant there that had photos up of famous local musicians performing on stage. There was a picture of Jimmie Dale Gilmore and Linda Ronstadt on stage together in the early 80s and Linda was wearing one of those digital calculator watches!
Avatar 3:59pm djsheilab:

Thank you Avrilinmay for all that you've said here! Glad I can help ease your anxiety. Doing this show helps to ease mine :)

I love Chairlift, I didn't know Caroline has a new single, exciting!
  4:03pm Zootopia:

I echo Avrillnmay, whatever crap is going on in life, its hard to think about it hearing SBB's voice. Even when she's down, she's up. Or maybe she's so far up there, he lows are higher than everyone's highs. You can't help but get a lift from these three hours. I try to take these three hours off from work for my own mental health.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28pm steveo:

"One of the greatest gifts a songwriter can ever get is to hear one of their songs completely reimagined so that it comes up anew shining bright and dazzling a new audience.

@Zootopia it is an honor to be among music geeks
  4:31pm P-90:

I was hoping P.P. would tell Sheila this story about how she joined Ike & Tina’s show and left her husband on the same day!

This is so important. We’re never too old to make things happen for ourselves.
