Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Avatar 12:02pm Franco Twinkie:

Michael. Great minds think alike apparently. Last night at practice we had a discussion about Lincoln Logs and other pre-Lego toy building materials, as well as turning moms hair spray into a flame thrower.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:02pm Gina Bacon:

Good morning! It's still morning here.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm Parq:

This is the second time in 3 days that this ELP track cropped up on the drummer stream. I can't help but remember how uncool it was to dig ELP back in the mid 70s. The cognoscenti had a field day trashing that band.
  12:35pm dan:

The words ELP and uncool should never be used in the same sentence.
  12:36pm dan:

Avatar 12:37pm βrian:

I went to see EL* back then. Both of them.
  12:37pm rw:

dan, you just did. But you knew that.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42pm Uncle Michael:

Happy birthday, Chuck!

I can stop to breathe.
  12:50pm dan:

One of my regrets is not seeing the recent Who/Quadrophenia tour.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:52pm Parq:

I understand from what a friend told me that Ringo Starr's kid is now the Who's drummer. The wonder of it all.
  12:54pm dan:

Zak Starkey has been The Who's drummer for about 25 years now. I still think the best Keith Moon replacement that they ever had was Simon Phillips.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:54pm Uncle Michael:

Has been for quite a long time, Parq.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm CHUCK ROAST:

Loving the show today, Unk. I'll consider it my birthday gift.

Kenny Jones is a great drummer, but he has the straight laced Charlie Watts style that wasn't really suited for The Who's cutting edge style.

Great to hear that bizarre Tom Waits track.

Avatar 1:21pm Listening Out There:

...after the multilude...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:24pm Parq:

Well, the set is going to be a group of assembled interludes.
  1:24pm Marie:

Her voice is particularly beautiful here
  1:25pm dan:

We've just had introductions to the prologues that led us to fanfares, that led us to overtures and now we're onto interludes. Sounds like a Monty Python scenario put to radio programming.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm Jeff Golick:

If I don't get to hear some quality outros I'm gonna lose my shit.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm Mike Sin:

Oh man, did I miss all the "overtures"? After the "interludes," I expect the hear all the "undertures."

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:30pm chresti:

Now I want to hear Bonzo Dog Band's intro/outro
  1:30pm dan:

Completely forgot about that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm Daddy-o Dilly:

Good afternoon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm Jeff Golick:

Would also settle for some "themes," but I wouldn't be happy about it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:31pm Parq:

Hmm. Bridges. (Are there whole tracks that are bridges?) Transitions. Postludes. Benedictions. And maybe a whole set of those little 30 second tracks that follow climactic tracks on some modern rock albums.
  1:33pm Dean:

Encores, of course.
  1:34pm Dean:

Finales, too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm Uncle Michael:

I don't do encores. I have to get to the merch table.

  1:53pm Dean:

Seems to me we've missed out on preludes. Maybe that was by design, because it would have entailed spinning Wagner.
  1:54pm Dean:

OTOH, there might have been Debussy...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54pm Parq:

Dean, can we stop right here and note that "Spinning Wagner" would be a good name for a band?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:54pm Uncle Michael:

You're right, Dean. I fucked up.
  1:56pm Dean:

It is a good name, Parq, not least because nobody would be exactly sure how to pronounce the Wagner part.

Even Wagner would be the first to admit that mistakes are opportunities to learn.
  1:57pm Dean:

Wow, you *did* manage to include an entr'acte!
