The Omega Orchestra (Composed by Leith Stevens and Conducted by Heinz Sandauer)  On The Surface of The Moon... Escape From The Moon... !   Options Destination Moon  Omega  1958  LP  After achieving lunar orbit the crew begins the complex landing procedure, but they use too much fuel during the descent. Safely on the Moon, they explore the lunar surface and describe by radio their view of the Earth, as contrasted against the black lunar sky. Barnes photographs Sweeney pretending to "hold up" the Earth like a modern Atlas. Events takes a serious turn for the crew when they realize that with their limited remaining fuel they must lighten Luna in order to achieve lunar escape velocity. No matter how much non-critical equipment they strip out and discard on the lunar surface, the hard numbers radioed from Earth continue to point to one conclusion: one of them will have to remain on the Moon if the others are to safely return to Earth. With time running out for their return launch window, the crew continues to engineer their way home. They jettison the ship's radio, losing contact with Earth. In addition, an oxygen tank is used as a tethered, suspended weight to pull their sole remaining space suit outside through the open airlock, which is then remotely closed and resealed. With the critical take-off weight finally achieved, and with all her crew safely aboard, Luna blasts off from the Moon for home.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hey GST!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:44pm Otis Fodder:

Hi, woke up late today and grabbed some wake up breakfast (at any time of the day) sounds. Running with that... until I rise and shine.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:02pm Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

i am enchanted, and i'm not even a plant!
3:03pm Dave In St Albans UK:

Finally got here. Looking forward to an Otis night of great music! Hi everyone.
Avatar 3:06pm fred:

Hello Otis and all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm Otis Fodder:

Hi Dave, GST and Jan, hope your Sunday is a relaxing one... keeping this sound/vibe for a bit here, feels great with coffee and looking out the window, watching people walking about.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:06pm Otis Fodder:

Hi Fred, hello to you too!!
Avatar 3:15pm Martinibomb:

Avatar 3:18pm Sonderangebot:

I've never seen that plant on instagram hI!!
Avatar 3:19pm Sem:

Hello, Otis & all.
This is excellent goodness.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

nothing to do now but clicky-star this episode!
Avatar 3:38pm Martinibomb:

I enjoy doing the no-prep makes you play stuff you might not and then go oh my gaaaaawd why did I play that horrible song. Then you just quickly cross-fade another song, a better song and don't bother putting the first horrible song you played into the playlist. Only the good stuff stays.
Avatar 3:42pm Martinibomb:

Time is an illusion. Squirrels don't care about how much time they have left. Neither does my Cat.
Avatar 3:44pm Martinibomb:

I'm still going to be on time though. ;-D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm Otis Fodder:

No prep is fun. Last night I was thinking of starting out with Iron Maiden into Anton Maiden, oh how things change.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm Otis Fodder:

That's it, woke up and clocked in. Just had my window DJ for the first 1/2 hour. ;)
Avatar 3:46pm Martinibomb:

The Window DJ is awesome. At Freeform I'd hang the other mic out and use that street sound for bed audio. It totally works
Avatar 3:59pm spacebrother:

I slept late. Really late.
Avatar 4:01pm spacebrother:

Were you up late, Otis?
Avatar 4:01pm Martinibomb:

Hellllooo SB Good afternoon
Avatar 4:01pm spacebrother:

and was that shout out?
Avatar 4:02pm spacebrother:

"Good morning" Mr. MB.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm Otis Fodder:

Shout out to all fellow spacepeople of bedroom origins.
Avatar 4:04pm spacebrother:

:D
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm Otis Fodder:

I woke up 15min before my show started. More like 5min as that's when I booted up the computer while the window DJ'ed for the first 30... I made coffee and picked up a few records, still picking.
Avatar 4:07pm Martinibomb:

What's up with you sleepy heads?! I got up at 5am.
Avatar 4:08pm spacebrother:

I really have to try the window DJ method.

We have a joke amongst paraglider pilots - the wing seems to fly itself better when the pilot is not involved.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09pm Kat in Chicago:

Good morning, Otis, and hello all! I missed the Montreal street sounds of Window DJ, will that be in the archive?
Avatar 4:09pm spacebrother:

@MB - maybe I'll start going to sleep earlier in a few years.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Otis Fodder:

Oh yes, Kat. First 30min of window sounds and I fed the cat as well in the background.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Kat in Chicago:

:)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11pm Otis Fodder:

Here too, trying to get back to a day person... taking on too many contracts lately with work, a good thing, but my internal clock is haywire.
Avatar 4:11pm spacebrother:

I woke up 30 minutes before an online meeting this morning and had to write up the agenda from scratch. It worked out fine.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:11pm Otis Fodder:

Totally, as long as we wake up before, we can wing it. With wing playing too! :)
Avatar 4:12pm spacebrother:

"Wingin' It with Wing!" - New album title.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm Otis Fodder:

..and she covers The Wings.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm Kat in Chicago:

I quit my job a month ago now and am struggling not to return to my old semi-nocturnal habits, as I assume I'll be commuting to another day thing before too long. Much as I'd like to creatively conjure a way to avoid that. So I set my alarm for my old wakeup time, and then turn it off, haha.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:15pm Otis Fodder:

I know you played Wing SB... oh yea!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17pm Otis Fodder:

I stopped feeling bad a few years back about being a night owl (I did for many years) and now just long to be a day person again, but I always slide back. Love the night, but also get a really good feeling about waking at 5-6am and accomplishing so much before Noon. All relative, right? Am I sane here?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm Kat in Chicago:

Of course you are :) I've belatedly discovered I enjoy mornings when I'm not stuck in an office! Sunny ones, anyway.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm Kat in Chicago:

Cloudy, though, and I'm hittin' the snooze.
Avatar 4:21pm spacebrother:

@ Otis - Exactly my thoughts.
Avatar 4:22pm spacebrother:

You're NOT winging this.
Avatar 4:23pm spacebrother:

Nice copy!
Avatar 4:23pm Martinibomb:

My internal clock has reset to 9pm/5am recently. Wasn't sleeping well for awhile then I hit the hay early one night and boom. Normal sleep but it's 9pm/5am Lol just rolling with it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24pm Kat in Chicago:

I have a really hard time getting to bed before midnight!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:30pm Kat in Chicago:

That's quite a lunar adventure story there
Avatar 4:36pm spacebrother:

Liner note madness today on FP.
Avatar 4:47pm spacebrother:

Judson Fountain reference!!!!!
Avatar 4:47pm spacebrother:

OK, WRITTEN BY JF. Wow.
Avatar 4:49pm spacebrother:

I didn't know that he occasionally took a back seat to Sandor.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm Otis Fodder:

Radio gold with Judson, cast and crew.
Avatar 4:52pm Martinibomb:

Oh my gawd wow
Avatar 4:52pm spacebrother:

Nice fight efx!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:53pm Otis Fodder:

The fight scene sfx... yes!!
Avatar 4:53pm spacebrother:

Dahk, dahk, dahk.

She's an international treasure.
5:50pm Dave In St Albans UK:

Really enjoyed tonight's show Otis. After a busy day punting on the river in Cambridge it has been a pleasure to head home to a friendly "musical" persuasion!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm Otis Fodder:

Thanks Dave. Show reflects my mellow mood today, well most of the show... maybe not this last piece by Z, oh my!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm Kat in Chicago:

I dozed off for a sec and then "um, I don't think this is Soothing Sounds for Baby anymore"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm Otis Fodder:

Not for babies... adult dream time now...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm Kat in Chicago:

For making babies, maybe
Avatar 5:54pm Pussywillows_Cat-tails:

LOL might need to pop on headphones for this one or my 85 year old neighbour will be clutching her pearls.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm Kat in Chicago:

I like these meandering Sunday shows!
Avatar 5:57pm Pussywillows_Cat-tails:

Thanks Otis, love it!
5:59pm Dave In St Albans UK:
