Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm Jan Turkenburg:

Hi U1K, Hi MB
Avatar 1:28pm Mr Fab:

i love "Jack, That Cat Was Clean", I've never heard 'clean" meaning "cool", "sharp" etc. Maybe Dr Horse was trying to kick-start a new slang term?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:29pm Otis Fodder:

Sounds Superb ARB, happy day!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32pm djarb:

Hi Otis! Thanks!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm djarb:

I never heard Clean used that way either, I first heard that song on a compilation called "ancestors of rap" or something akin to that. It's a great track
Avatar 1:38pm Ursula1000:

My friends Fort Knox Five did a wicked remix of this track but w a female vocalist!
Avatar 1:39pm Mr Fab:

The Benny More song?
Avatar 1:39pm Ursula1000:

Avatar 1:39pm Ursula1000:

yeah---he probably wrote it but was covered by a female vocalist
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:41pm djarb:

wow, I have to check that out
Avatar 1:42pm Mr Fab:

muy frio, will check that out!

I just discovered last night a fairly ridiculous album by Latin singer Cecilia Noel doing Cuban remakes of rock songs like "She Shook me All Night Long" And "Whip It." And Gary Numans' "Cars"! Yes, in a mambo stylee. I am helpless to resist.
Avatar 1:43pm Ursula1000:

found it! it's by Machito y su Orquesta. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm Jan Turkenburg:

The voice of Carol Connors reminded me of Mariska Veres (Shocking Blue) somehow...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45pm djarb:

Was "Monkey On My Back" ever in common parlance or is this another slang attempt that didn't take off?
1:47pm captain mike in port Whitby:

Lotsa melancholy heart breaking today
Avatar 1:48pm Mr Fab:

was wondering that too, like maybe meant "I'm hooked on you"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm djarb:

ooh, Mr Fab thanks for sharing that, I gotta hear the mambo version of Cars etc...
Avatar 1:48pm Mr Fab:

"Monkey On My Back" usually meant a drug
addiction, i did hear that used a lot.
1:49pm captain mike in port Whitby:

Monkey junkie parlance
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50pm djarb:
