It was weird, as my landlord didn't know which fuse it was. And the one marked "A/C", was for the central air, not the thermostat interface. I didn't want to mess up my neighbor's electricity, so, I proceeded cautiously.

It wasn't too bad, I have ceiling fans and the thermostat said it was 89F/32C indoors when I restored it. (I really don't sweat unless I'm exercise or eat chilis).

Awesome DJ that limits the unnecessary chatter and plays more awesome music. What a concept! Not a comment on Keilidh's (whew, THAT'S a new spelling) chatter, which is good, I just came from a college radio station filled with mindless idiots jabbering away instead of playing music.
Avatar 10:18pm northguineahills:

Avatar 10:22pm CC:

Buy some antibacterial soap wash your hands leave a little bit of residue on there and sniff it up your nose every morning I swear it should help!!!
Avatar 10:22pm northguineahills:

@Kelidh: I used to get them every other week, as you know, it's a PITA when you're at work, and are out commission for a few hours (mine are usually 2-3 hours, but can last 6-8.)
Avatar 10:23pm CC:

It's good for allergies too..!..

Avatar 10:26pm Keilidh:

@northguineahills - oh yeah such a pain. I usually have to knock out for an hour or so before it'll go away.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:26pm coelacanth∅:

first migraine i ever had was when i was 12 (?) just severe headache and vision trouble, no vomiting. it lasted the entire summer vacation, day & night.
then years later i got them again (of shorter duration) and after some research stopped eating 6-10 avocados/week and they stopped.
now i can safely eat 3-5 avocados/week, at least. haven't had a migraine in a couple decades.

Avatar 10:35pm northguineahills:

@Kelidh: I didn't get my first one until I was 24. I found that escaping work when one hits, and have a shot or two of Scotch, made me functional, but still in pain. Otherwise, I just put my head on my desk and 'sleep' (as it's not really sleeping).
  10:36pm Carmichael:

Avocado migraines? Whoa ...
Avatar 10:37pm Keilidh:

oh i misread... thought you said avocados CURE migraines.... dammit
Avatar 10:37pm northguineahills:

Mine is probably related to the GI tract medications I take, and some other combinations of food. But, I prefer a migraine to give up good food. Tomorrow more Nigerian curry mac and cheese w/ tomatoes, chilis, and fresh mozzarella.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:39pm coelacanth∅:

there are a few common migraine triggers. if i remember correctly - avocado, chocolate, oranges, bananas, coffee (interestingly, since it's used to relieve headaches pretty commonly) fermented food.
i'm sure there're more, this is my research 20-? years ago.
the only one for me is avocado. i can eat a mountain of chocolate.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41pm coelacanth∅:

oh, haha! (@10.37) that would be wonderful!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42pm Barney Grubbs:

Holy smokes, is that a Converge sample?
Avatar 10:44pm northguineahills:

chocolate, and most fruit, and definitely coffee does for me (when I first got them, I was in grad school and going through two pots of instant coffee a day, as I didn't sleep much)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:46pm coelacanth∅:

do you drink coffee now ngh?
Avatar 10:46pm Keilidh:

wow so basically everything I like is working against me... i really have to kick my sugar habit
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Hmm - avos have mad potassium...that's like anticaf - caffeine effects blood vessel constriction - which is reported migraine link...speculation....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:48pm coelacanth∅:

well, not that refined sugar isn't terrible for ya, but it may be just one of those things, like me...or something you consume in excess, like i did with avocado.
Avatar 10:48pm CC:

Toothpaste coconut oil baking soda so many things can help for so many different things!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar 10:50pm CC:

Black organic castor oil is very good as a preventative for a cataract!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:51pm coelacanth∅:

i drink tea to coffee about 4:1 ratio, and if i don't consume caffeine for a day or 2 i don't get a headache. (i used to when i drank coffee every day)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

You mix them?? Henry Rollins' gf does that...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Or one at a time...
Avatar 10:53pm northguineahills:

@coel: I quit coffee 10 years ago, I only have espresso in emergencies, as it doesn't affect me as much.

Yeah, sugar hits me hard if I OD. It's why I cook most of my meals from scratch, b/tn my GI tract issues and migraines, I can't afford to eat food where I don't know the ingredients (and I'll eat out often, at my own peril, I got to experiment). It's why, yet again, I'm cleaning the kitchen, while listening to WFMU before bed, as per usual, as I'm a very messy chef. I've also had stress headaches morph to migraines (which creates more stress).
Avatar 10:53pm CC:

Two or three orgasms a day doesn't hurt either!!!...hehehe!!..
Avatar 10:53pm Keilidh:

i sent an email to henry rollins asking him to adopt me and he never answered
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:54pm coelacanth∅:

coffee and tea? blugh! i've tried that. there's a place in town that serves chai tea with a shot of espresso in it and it's terrible!
Avatar 10:54pm northguineahills:

my main is strong (2 bags if i'm out) of irish tea (preferably lyons) with probably too much honey in it. (no milk)
incredible energy. i have to be careful when i drink it - what my plans are for the next 6-8 hours.
coffee does not do that. it makes me burn and crash.
...but i sure love the taste.
  10:57pm JakeGould:
