This was on ECM in 1970?? Are you playing it backwards?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:31am

One of the more wonderfully odd early ECM releases, for sure.

Your band on "Elizabeth":
Ornette Coleman, Charlie Haden, Billy Higgins, Ed Blackwell, Dewey Redman, Bobby Bradford & Don Cherry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:50am

@hyde: I think that'd be time well spent.

What was Columbia thinking when it signed him for this? Isn't it his only album with the label?

Ornette/Columbia - also "Science Fiction" & "Skies Over America". The "Science Fiction Complete Sessions" 2-CD set has all of the Columbia material, minus "Skies". I think I am correct there.

Hi there, @JtotheK!
Thanks for that, @LG.
And @mic_check! Appreciate the fact check! Hi!

Avoiding chores a little more. Yeah, early ECM could be surprising. Back in the day, their mini-catalog insert listed The Music Improvisation Company album, but I never saw that one in a store. (Derek Bailey and friends)

(this isn't that interesting but,) i got carried away once, playing with gimp, and creating what ended up being 49 versions of the same picture. (which i shot with b/w film, and now can guess is a corkscrew hazel tree)
i've been cycling through the evolution for a few months i guess.

  11:35am
Mikey_B:

@Jeff Goick: I'll have to take another listen. The "Everything's going to be alright this morning" introduction is in the movie, but I don't know if the rest is identical. The Hard Again version does fit in with Scorsese's intent to use only songs that existed at the time the scene of the movie took place (1980)
