Avatar 7:04pm Mr Fab:

I've always had to restart when i listen to the Drummer stream - one show ends, I refresh, THEN i can hear the next show. So that might be the case here too.
  7:04pm TheHipMen:

Man it's really hard to beat some love in your tummy if you know what I mean!!!...hehehe...
Avatar 7:08pm spacebrother:

This sounds like late 1980s. Can anyone find any more info?
Avatar 7:08pm Mr Fab:

Everything's been great so far, Greg. U Started on time, everything sounds perfect. Much to my relief. GG totally nailed it on her first LoriHajiTura.
Avatar 7:09pm spacebrother:

She did indeed, from what I heard. Congrats GG!

Avatar 7:16pm spacebrother:

Thanks for looking, Mr. Fab.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

This J-Pop is so so groovy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:18pm Rich in Washington:

Do you collect Japanese music from various eras, spacebrother? One of my friends is desperately trying to ID a Japanese easy listening song used on a Firesign Theatre production.
I can ask you offline, as you're steering the spaceship at the moment.
  7:18pm TheHipMen:

The song is actually called Kâtibim or "Üsküdar'a Gider İken, and is a Turkish Folk Song
Avatar 7:18pm Martinibomb:

Curry curry furry furry
Avatar 7:18pm spacebrother:

I can look, Rich. Sure contact me later.
Avatar 7:19pm Mr Fab:

Ha, she actually said, "Ah so!" at the end of "Paradise." So that IS real Japanese!
Avatar 7:19pm spacebrother:

Cool, Thanks, Hip!
Avatar 7:20pm spacebrother:

OK, My first mistake!
Avatar 7:21pm spacebrother:

Avatar 7:22pm Mr Fab:

Why aren't there more covers of "Be My Baby", this is a beauty!?
Avatar 7:22pm CC:

I love hearing John Lennon do this song when he's halfway drunk!!!...
Avatar 7:22pm spacebrother:

I am a Rita Pavone super-fan1
Avatar 7:23pm Mr Fab:

he may have been ALL the way drunk!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:23pm Rich in Washington:

Swingin' show today, spacebrother!
Avatar 7:24pm Mr Fab:

Do you have a clip of the Firesign Theater song, Rich?
Avatar 7:24pm spacebrother:

#CC - I think I've heard that somewhere.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:26pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

I was just thinking about this version!
Avatar 7:26pm Mr Fab:

Ma, i wish i could be a part of the "patriarchy." My life would have been so much easier. i have a broke-ass Jewish friend I tease about, why don't you just ask your International Banking Conspiracy? He hates that stereotype, heh heh.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:27pm Rich in Washington:

Mr. Fab: I do not. It's on Taylor Jessen's blog, our friend here Ironybread, aka SiddFudd.
I'll post his link/plea on the FB page after this show. I think the weirdo collector hive mind can possibly have the answer.
Avatar 7:27pm spacebrother:

Sing it, Spock!!
Avatar 7:28pm CC:

I think it's the flip side of ain't that a shame???...hehehe...
Avatar 7:29pm Mr Fab:

is this show pre-recorded Greg, or are you doing it all live?
Avatar 7:29pm CC:

I feel so patriotic right now!!!
Avatar 7:29pm spacebrother:

It's all live. Couldn't you tell?
Avatar 7:30pm Mr Fab:

No, you're doing great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:31pm Otis Fodder:

Mistake#21
Avatar 7:41pm Martinibomb:

Hey do you know anything more about this Bontempi guy? I kinda dig his stuff too
Avatar 7:41pm spacebrother:

Thurl Ravesnscoft makes anything better.
  7:41pm TheHipMen:

Wow, a cover of the Spiderman theme, and topical seeing how there is a new Spiderman movie coming out
Avatar 7:41pm Martinibomb:

do you have anything else by him?
Avatar 7:41pm spacebrother:

I think I heard of Bontempi from one of y'all.
Avatar 7:42pm spacebrother:

And now 7 minutes of William S. Burroughs.
Avatar 7:42pm Martinibomb:

I think it was me cause I was searching for a rockabilly version of spiderman theme and came up with this that's how I discovered him
  7:42pm TheHipMen:

This is also Topical as well
Avatar 7:43pm Martinibomb:

I've heard 1 or two other track tho from him that were pretty good
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43pm Otis Fodder:

There is also Enzo Bontempi's 'Italian Spiderman'.
Avatar 7:43pm spacebrother:

Yes Hip, I thought so.
Avatar 7:43pm CC:

Deep!!!...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43pm Rich in Washington:

I love this bit.
Avatar 7:43pm spacebrother:

Have to look up more Bontempi.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm Otis Fodder:

The Bontempi played is Marcel Bontempi, also an artist who does stuff for the Stag-O-Lee label (cover art + his own great music). No relation to the one-off Enzo Bontempi.
Avatar 7:45pm Mr Fab:

I Thurl-oughly dug that Spideman .
Avatar 7:45pm Martinibomb:

Maybe that's why I can't find Michael Bontempi on Discogs?
Avatar 7:46pm CC:

Always Dug the cuts by RD Laing William Burroughs Charles Bukowski Alan Watts Jack Kerouac...etc...
Avatar 7:46pm Martinibomb:

oh I remember otis showing me his art before.. yes that's right
Avatar 7:47pm Martinibomb:

Avatar 7:51pm spacebrother:

#MB - Please do.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm Otis Fodder:

@MB - share that strike
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm Rich in Washington:

My son's really gotten into the wonderful world of sampling, mixing, and weird soundbites and he's recently stumbled onto Burroughs pieces. I am sure I listened to lots of him when my kids were very young because I was a horrible parent.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52pm Otis Fodder:

Shatner has his moments when he's really on beat.
Avatar 7:53pm Martinibomb:

Hahah! I also do a cover of this Devo song LOl I perform it live sometimes
Avatar 7:53pm spacebrother:

He's out imperfect metronome.
Avatar 7:53pm spacebrother:

our
Avatar 7:53pm Martinibomb:

just sent u that lightin' strikes cover on FB
Avatar 7:54pm spacebrother:

@Rich - I want you to play some of those on your show.
Avatar 7:54pm Mr Fab:

CC, I've added some spoken-word goodness into the Sheena stream featuring some of the cats you mentioned
Avatar 7:55pm CC:

Kewl MF...
Avatar 7:57pm Mr Fab:

i've long pondered why Devo didn't record proper versions of some of those early demos. Certainly better than most of their late '80s output...
Avatar 7:59pm CC:

That didn't even sound like Devo...that was really great..!..
Avatar 7:59pm Mr Fab:

Weird, some acoustic song was playing, i refreshed the stream, and Voila! Joe Meek.
Avatar 7:59pm spacebrother:

@ MB - THank you.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:59pm Otis Fodder:

Thanks for the tunes today Greg! See ya!
