Avatar 2:58pm Otis Fodder:

Hey all, stay tuned, hope it's a fun one today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:00pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Just catching my breath :-) Hello all :-)
  3:01pm hipHopFreak:

Yeahhhhhhh, bought that vinyl back in the day as soon as I laid eyes on that mama.
  3:02pm hipHopFreak:

the back of the vinyl gives an even better view
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

Good afternoon, All.
  3:05pm hipHopFreak:

Howabout dem Pelicans eh?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm Jan Turkenburg:

I'm just baffled by what I've been hearing the past few minutes, unable to speak...
  3:07pm hipHopFreak:

Otis, which side of that Ice-T vinyl do you have facing outwards?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:08pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

This makes me think of that old SNL sketch with the late, great Phil Hartman and Sally Field. She's a rabid Christian who keeps praying to Jesus every five seconds, and he materialises in her kitchen to ask her to stop. :-)
Avatar 3:10pm Otis Fodder:

@HHF - Ice-T is spine facing now on the shelf, normally face up, that's power.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm Jan Turkenburg:

LOL, Georgy, I don't know it, but can just picture it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

It's a very sweet sketch in the end but also very funny :-)
  3:11pm hipHopFreak:

Way to go Otis. Incidentally, I was born on Sept. 17th. Good choice.
Avatar 3:11pm Otis Fodder:

@GG - I'll look up and out for that sketch, sounds funny!
  3:12pm hipHopFreak:

Never knew there was an album with my birthday in the title.
Avatar 3:12pm Otis Fodder:

@HHF - EW&F September too would fit
  3:12pm Martinibomb:

Hello Otis. Listening to the show being rebroadcast on a secret sheena's only shoutcast stream. I'm at a taco place listening on my phone
  3:12pm hipHopFreak:

And ive always loved Astrud too
  3:12pm hipHopFreak:

Yeah but theres a song for every month dude
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:12pm Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

I was exactly 35 days old on September 17, 1969.
Avatar 3:13pm Otis Fodder:

@MB - You got it working at a Taco place, lucky!
  3:13pm hipHopFreak:

Granny, thats irrelevant
Avatar 3:13pm Otis Fodder:

@GST - I was just over 3 months old.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

I was just over 5 :-)
  3:15pm hipHopFreak:

OK, i was minus 2
  3:15pm Martinibomb:

I got a stream working so people can practice on it. Practicing our hand off to the next deejay seems smart
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@GST - i love how your avatar is keeping the beat :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:15pm Jan Turkenburg:

Needles to say, me too :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:19pm Granny Spicy Tuna (they/them):

Otis: Yay, you're another great celebrant of 50 years this summer! It's an illustrious time, indeed.
Avatar 3:22pm Otis Fodder:

@GST - 50 feels mighty good.
3:24pm Dave In St Alban's UK:

Enjoying the show. Missed F&F but will dip into the archive later.
  3:25pm hipHopFreak:

Dave, u missed a cracker.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

@Dave - you jolly well better or I shall look at you sternly. lol.
3:28pm Dave In St Alban's UK:

That's my evenings listening sorted then!:-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29pm chresti:

Howdy Otis and friendly 'suaders!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm chresti:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

  3:36pm hipHopFreak:

Killer set
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm Jan Turkenburg:

This is a lovely track. I love that female voice over it
  3:42pm hipHopFreak:

  3:42pm Martinibomb:

  3:52pm hipHopFreak:

  3:56pm hipHopFreak:

Avatar 3:57pm Otis Fodder:

Hey chresti and grantbob and thanks hipHopFreak!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:01pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

We know where we are. I think. ;-)
Avatar 4:03pm Mr Fab:

Back from lunch break. Totally dug the exotic sounds, as they perfectly complimented the tiki bar of my mind. Where I tend to spend a lot of time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:03pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Dudley Moore's jazz albums are really good :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Sheena's Jungle Room on WFMU - coming to you from the Tiki Bar of our mind :-)
Avatar 4:04pm Otis Fodder:

@GG - Really very good, big fan here of Dudley - esp the 60s output.
Avatar 4:05pm Otis Fodder:

Hey Fab!
  4:07pm hipHopFreak:

Claudette couldve made it onto that Ice-T front cover i reckon
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:09pm David D:

Setting the tiki high.
  4:10pm hipHopFreak:

Jeremiah & the Slag's did a version of this
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:10pm Rich in Washington:

Oh man. This track! I need this record!
Avatar 4:11pm Mr Fab:

Just what IS the slag solution?
  4:12pm hipHopFreak:

A stag night out
  4:13pm hipHopFreak:

Anyone else met Todd Rundgren?
  4:15pm hipHopFreak:

Always great to hear Breathless
  4:16pm hipHopFreak:

At last, a chance to put the kettle on lol
  4:17pm hipHopFreak:

No Kandu guvnor
Avatar 4:19pm Otis Fodder:

5 minutes feels like 50 when you are with Kandu.
Avatar 4:20pm Mr Fab:

has that Mike Simpson "Jungle Odyssey" LP ever been reissued? Seems like a natural. One of my faves, esp with it's pre-digital sampling of sound fx.
  4:20pm hipHopFreak:

Hope that was a giveaway 7"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Do I hear some Yellow Pearl? :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:20pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Aha! Matt Berry :-)
  4:20pm hipHopFreak:

Lets take a look at numbers 30 to 20
Avatar 4:21pm Otis Fodder:

Hi, can you hear me? This is Clem Fandango.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Is this hospital a crock of shit? is this St Crock of Shits? :-)
  4:22pm hipHopFreak:

wouldve been funnier if youd played Rainbow
  4:23pm hipHopFreak:

You got the track wrong Otis, u didnt play Blankety Blank
  4:24pm hipHopFreak:

id wager my chequebook and pen on it
  4:25pm hipHopFreak:

You played Top Of The Pops
  4:26pm hipHopFreak:

World In Action is the best track
Avatar 4:27pm Otis Fodder:

You don't need to bet man, messed up the track list.
Avatar 4:28pm Otis Fodder:

Fixed now. Bet.
  4:28pm hipHopFreak:

Stevie really mustve hot the bong hard in the late 70s
  4:28pm hipHopFreak:

Avatar 4:30pm Mr Fab:

"Hot the Bong" sounds like the kind of name bands use now. Only it needs some superfluous punctuation. Like "Hot. the Bong."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39pm Jan Turkenburg:

I love the incorporation of concept album tracks, Otis. I didn't see that coming. It fits in beautifully.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:39pm DJ GeorgyGirl:

Going to say goodnight at my usual halfway point and listen to the rest of today tomorrow during cooking. Fabulous show, Otis!! Huge hugs, everyone :-)
Avatar 4:41pm Otis Fodder:

Have a nice evening Georgy!
  4:44pm hipHopFreak:

night night
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:44pm chresti:

@Fab- hot:the>bong
Avatar 4:45pm Mr Fab:

chresti: Ha!
  4:46pm Rich:

I love this album so much. it really warped my mind as a kid. Right on the edge of discovering weird music.
  4:46pm Rich:

Nighty night, GeorgyGirl!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:47pm Jan Turkenburg:

Sleep well GG!
  5:03pm hipHopFreak:

You are totally justified in playing this
Avatar 5:04pm Mr Fab:

ha, justified in playing this ancient album!

Oh man, "Chill Out"... did I play the heck out of it. 'twas my fave ambient album for the longest time.
  5:07pm hipHopFreak:

Is it true that The Klf burned 1 million sheep on a Scottish Island?
Avatar 5:10pm Otis Fodder:

...and now at 50, I'm slightly ancient.
Avatar 5:15pm Don-O:

Da Whale! Da Whale!
Avatar 5:24pm Mr Fab:

Oh gawd, Steve Miller really did make a rap record..? Oh my. Somewhere, Brian Wilson is saying, "see, 'Smart Girls' wasn't so bad, now was it?"
Avatar 5:25pm Mr Fab:

However, I do stand by Neil Young's "Trans." So there ya go.
Avatar 5:26pm Otis Fodder:

Sample and Hold and all of Trans, yes!
Avatar 5:30pm Mr Fab:

Ok, you got me. Once he stopped the "rapping," that wasn't a bad groove.
Avatar 5:30pm grantbob:

Nacho City... My kind of town.
Avatar 5:31pm Don-O:

Can anybody dance to this?!
Avatar 5:34pm Mr Fab:

Well Don-O, as a white guy trying to find a groove, the Tom Tom Club he aint't. More suitable for droning out to. He is a space cowboy, after all.
  5:37pm hipHopFreak:

Original version come with a insert. Self-Released one sided EP

Created by mingo l'indien from Les Georges Leningrad
Ismael, Philippe and Simon from Duchess Says
and Rakam
Avatar 5:47pm Don-O:

These last few tracks reminds me of Don Joyce doing a two show series on OTE, "Long Cut Suck" (I think that was the title). I suspect that he needed a small break from the usual work load associated with the standard OTE show and that's how that came about; the return of the MUCH earlier days of the show.....before Negativloand moved in.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm Rich in Washington:

I'd like to hear that one, Don-O!
Avatar 5:51pm Otis Fodder:

I'd like to hear those too, are they in the OTE archives online?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm Rich in Washington:

I remember the show he did right after his apartment burned down. He just played music, because he couldn't put a normal OTE together.
Avatar 5:52pm Mr Fab:

Just about every '70s prog album would qualify, i'd reckon.
  5:52pm hipHopFreak:

petit chanson disco pour soirée romantique avec votre douce moitié!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm Rich in Washington:

I think I told y'all about that cool streaming channel where someone just streams random OTE episodes 24/7. I listen to it often while I'm sleeping.
Avatar 5:54pm Mr Fab:

Ha for Disco Gag! Is the rest of the album that silly?
Avatar 5:54pm Don-O:

Rich Otis: Well, I don't think that show on Archive.org....yet. I know they are still transferring more show and it will probably be another five years to get part 2 up.
Avatar 5:55pm Otis Fodder:

Yes, all silly Fab.
Avatar 5:55pm Don-O:

Pelican Dance......?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56pm Rich in Washington:

I keep wondering when the next batch of digitized OTEs are going to hit the archives. Last I heard, they were still digitizing Don's cassette stash, with some episodes taped by listeners, but there haven't been any 'new' episodes for a couple of years.
  5:56pm hipHopFreak:

Thanks a bunch Otis, great show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57pm Rich in Washington:

Thanks, Otis! Fun episode!
Avatar 5:57pm Otis Fodder:

Right on and thanks all. Happy weekend and I toast my beer to you now.
Avatar 5:57pm Don-O:

I'll be moving to Arizona soon so I'll be up to my ears in freakin' summer. Kinda not looking forward to that.
Avatar 5:58pm Don-O:

Thanks the usual gold standard show, Otis. and if any of you whom R brave: www.wfmu.org...
Avatar 5:58pm Otis Fodder:

Whoa, moving to Arizona. Very nice, want to hear more on that.
Avatar 5:58pm Mr Fab:

Look into Doc's eyes...you will do as he commands...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59pm Rich in Washington:

but it's a dry heat, Don-O.
Avatar 5:59pm Don-O:

...I guess so....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59pm Rich in Washington:

The only Doc album I have is the one with the King Crimson cover on it.
Avatar 6:00pm grantbob:

thanks Otis!
