A two-hour exploration of excavations from the farthest reaches of humanity's hellish collective brain, through records, tapes, CDs, mostly scoured from country bumpkin thrift stores, creepy charity shops, backwoods junk stores, and even the internet - all mixed live. We don't judge, we just play 'em. Hosted by Rich in Washington.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:02pm Rich in Washington:

Hi Don-O!
Hey, spacebrother!
Thanks for tuning in!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:02pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

i really like the word slathered. slathered lacquer is even better!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:02pm Otis Fodder:

The gang's all here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:03pm Otis Fodder:

Listening relaxing on the couch looking at the celing. Back to it! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:03pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

it's a little like trauma bonding, only it's FUN!
Avatar 7:03pm Don-O:

I'm going to lay down while listening to this. This has been a VERY busy days.....thus far.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm Rich in Washington:

Avatar 7:04pm Don-O:

Avatar 7:04pm Mr Fab:

Hey hey Rich (and gang).
That's funny GS Tuna. Could also be another word for 'drunk': "Dude, I got totally SLATHERED last night."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05pm Rich in Washington:

Hiya, Mr. Fab!
Avatar 7:05pm spacebrother:

Me too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

I'm trying to place where the GIF on the playlist is from. It reminds me of a old Cascade commercial.
Avatar 7:05pm Don-O:

As for that GIF: "Glad I Didn't Say Anything About The Dirty Knife"
Avatar 7:05pm Martinibomb:

Love shit about records being made digging this mix
Avatar 7:06pm spacebrother:

It's vital info for vinyl people.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:06pm Rich in Washington:

I remember the DJ mixer in KOUG had hard pan-able channels, which I used often.
Avatar 7:06pm Don-O:

I'm STILL having trouble getting picture on my page. Will have to re-read the instructions again.....or yell at my brain again.
Avatar 7:07pm Mr Fab:

your own mixing here I presume, Rich?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:07pm Rich in Washington:

I can't find this exact video anymore. And when there was an American cable tv version of this program, all the voiceovers were replaced with a male voice, saying the exact same thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:07pm Rich in Washington:

Hopey! Glad you could make it!
Avatar 7:07pm spacebrother:

I haven't paid proper attention. I still don't know where to put code or whatever to the playlist for album graphics.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08pm Rich in Washington:

And of course, Martinibomb! It's looking like a party in here!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08pm Rich in Washington:

Yes. I mixed this almost exactly ten years ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

The gif is actually an image of the party we are all having right NOW!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

I have the bow tie
Avatar 7:09pm spacebrother:

Mmmmm. Biscuits.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:09pm Rich in Washington:

It moves the biscuit forward.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:09pm Rich in Washington:

It is. Don't mind the damp.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:10pm Rich in Washington:

Now mixing in the present. Sort of. You know what I mean.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:11pm Rich in Washington:

Note to self; fix that bloody hum on channel 7.
Avatar 7:12pm spacebrother:

The animated gif looks like an American attempt at doing Luis Bunuel.
Avatar 7:12pm Mr Fab:

ha, you're right spacebrother! Or maybe British?
Avatar 7:13pm Martinibomb:

Didn't you interview Otis or something for when you were at that station? Wasn't that 09/10 when Bran Flakes were here?
Avatar 7:13pm Don-O:

SOUND GALLERYYYYYYYYY!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:13pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

i am enjoying it. the soup is so…moist
Avatar 7:13pm spacebrother:

Bunuel meets Monty Python.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:16pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

This seems like a crowd what likes fun? Please join my postcard club! Send me your address (via my profile) and i will send you a postcard SLATHERED with stickers.
Avatar 7:16pm spacebrother:

It's all noise, dammit.

Nice segue!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:16pm Rich in Washington:

@Martinibomb @7:13: Yes! Myself and Dr. Zomb, aka Toby H.
I believe that's when I met you for the first time!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:16pm Rich in Washington:

The Bran Flakes show I mean.
Avatar 7:20pm Martinibomb:

Wow this is some funked up shtuff! love John Oswald ya forget how funky he could be
Avatar 7:21pm Martinibomb:

Oh yeah that's right I think you were out chatting with us outside right? I remember talking to Otis on the street or something
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:23pm Rich in Washington:

yes. The late, great Routture venue. Probably replaced with five ugly blocks of condos by now.
Avatar 7:23pm Mr Fab:

think I bought this CD at an art museum where C Marclay had an exhibit. his visual stuff is also amazing, if you get a chance to catch it.
Avatar 7:25pm Martinibomb:

Spider Moccasin had a big mural painted inside that venue if I remember correctly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25pm Rich in Washington:

Oh wow. I saw him a couple of weeks ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:29pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

for a minute i couldn't tell if i was listening to a crazy mix, then i noticed i had more than one tuner playing…
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:29pm Webhamster Henry:

I don't have More Encores, but I do have Record Without A Cover.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:30pm Rich in Washington:

That one's amazing, Webmaster Henry.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:30pm Webhamster Henry:

I did a cover of Record Without a Cover.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:34pm Rich in Washington:

Taylor Jessen did a beautiful rip and restoration of a copy of it and put it on his Fuji Puzzle Box blog.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:37pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

it's either magic or a busted pipe
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:37pm Rich in Washington:

HA!
Avatar 7:41pm Mr Fab:

Ethel Merman lives!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

you're the one who gets the recordings that no one else knows what to do with
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:44pm Webhamster Henry:

Wow an original Jollity Farm!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm Rich in Washington:

I think both Don-O and I are sort of the Fred Sanfords of the Jungle Room.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

moo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm Rich in Washington:

This whole comp is really great, even if you're not a full on Bonzo fan. It's almost always riding around in my radio crate.
Avatar 7:48pm Mr Fab:

If you're the Fred Sanford of the Jungle Room, I'm afraid to ask who i am.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm Rich in Washington:

HA!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

about 25 years ago i had a huge garage sale and got rid of hundreds of weird, crappy records, which were mostly scooped up by a geeky friend of mine. Ten years later, she moved into my house for a couple of years, and when she moved out…she left my old records at my house!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:49pm Rich in Washington:

That's great, Granny!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

it's my only super power: i CAN'T get rid of crap, even when i try!
Avatar 7:51pm Martinibomb:

oh man it's almost over with. Thanks for the music today Mr. Rich
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm Webhamster Henry:

Maybe that'll happen to the records that left me, GST!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm Rich in Washington:

Thanks for listening, Martinibomb!
Avatar 7:51pm Mr Fab:

that's hilarious, GST! The universe is telling you that you need to have a radio show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

Mr. Fab, i can't believe i have never had a radio show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54pm Rich in Washington:

You could do it, GST!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

Rich in WA, it's a lifelong dream, i just waste all my time listening to the radio!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm Rich in Washington:

I try my best to do both. I'm either playing music for people or listening to someone play music for me.
Avatar 7:56pm Mr Fab:

I only recently found out that "Buffalo Gals" refers to women of the city of Buffalo, NY. i used to be baffled by images of a guy dancing with buffalo.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

maybe for my 50th birthday i will learn how to do radio
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm Granny Spicy Tuna:

(that's in august) hey, thanks for this great hour of crazy saturation
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:58pm Rich in Washington:

Thanks for listening!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:00pm Rich in Washington:

Thank you, everybody, for tuning in and all the nice comments!
Avatar 8:00pm Mr Fab:
