But.. those early ones also sound really cool and unique. Hardware samplers are cheap these days because software does it better/cheaper.. but I don't enjoy being on the *computer* that much cause it feels like work. So i kinda like hardware

I wanted this ESI sampler back in the mid 90s but it was like 2K. I ended up getting an Akai S900 for $150 nobody wanted them then.. 12bit audio. but now days people love that sound and that sampler goes for like $700

The only proper sampler I ever owned was an Akai S20. I bought it off my brother who's much more gadgety and talented than I. It was a lot of fun but I ultimately got tired of juggling floppy discs.
