Ridgewood Radio features concert recordings by adventurous bands and experimental musicians and restored archival tapes from private and institutional collections captured at venues large and small across the five boroughs of New York. It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

Hi folks!
Avatar 3:07pm david w:

chresti, djazz. Welcome, glad to have you around
Avatar 3:08pm david w:

Oh, just scrolled up and found Henry lurking. Heya!
Avatar 3:10pm fred:

Speaking of voices, I like the Audrey Chen / Phil Minton duo (and I often get bored during the first half of Minton's sets)
Avatar 3:13pm david w:

A recording of me and Minton is on that same Angelica disk that has the Inuits that I opened with today. Just sayin'.
Avatar 3:17pm Sem:

Sitting quietly in my copper-framed pyramid, getting my chakras aligned.

Hello, David, Ruth, OAR devotes, and all.
Avatar 3:19pm david w:

Sem! What's that called? Faraday cage?
Avatar 3:20pm Sem:

hahaha, yup. No evil wavelengths allowed.
Avatar 3:21pm fred:

I see that Fred Frith is on that record too. I'll be seeing him tomorrow and Friday (he has a 3-day residency at Instants Chavirés to celebrate his having turned 70, but I'm not going Saturday)
Avatar 3:23pm david w:

I think Fred is retiring from his job at Mills College and starting tot enjoy senior status.
Avatar 3:35pm fred:

I like this Charmaine Lee / Zach Rowden set. Both names new to me
  3:38pm John from Florham Park:

Hello fellow listeners
Avatar 3:38pm david w:

Charmaine is on fire right now and both are sought after for improv gigs around here.
Avatar 3:39pm david w:

Welcome John from Florham Park, enjoy!
  3:43pm John from Florham Park:

Thanks DW
Avatar 3:49pm fred:

I still have to see Susie Ibarra, what's wrong with me?
Avatar 3:53pm david w:

Ibarra always worth hearing. DreamTiime Ensemble, which she directs, seems to be her current passion project.
Avatar 4:34pm fred:

Interesting mix of ideas ans sounds in this set
Avatar 4:43pm northguineahills:

Good to see Susie Ibarra is playing again, Saw her play in 2001, but didn't hear a drumstick until about 2016 being released.
Avatar 4:45pm fred:

@ngh: any news in your job search?
Avatar 4:47pm Sem:

Thrilled by the goings-on here today, DW. All new to me, and most welcome. Thank you all for the work you do to bring this show to us. Next time, then.
Avatar 4:49pm david w:

Yay, Sem! And ngh! And Fred, always good to hear thoughts.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm Webhamster Henry:

Susie's on the Faculty at Bennington, that might be eating into her time a little.
Avatar 4:51pm david w:

And family, I believe.
Avatar 4:57pm northguineahills:

Got a small time freelance gig this weekend, no benefits, but I work from home, and it's something.....
Avatar 4:57pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Here comes..."Escape to Noise": wfmu.org...
Avatar 4:59pm fred:

@ngh: definitely not ideal, but yeah, it's something
Avatar 5:00pm david w:
