Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:26pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

My daughter just noted that the opening riff of The Idle Race track may have been (ahem) "acquired" by a certain 70s band. Blatant!

MB - Ahhh, the ocean is coming out of Georgy's show. We are doing a hand off weekly now to blend.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

WOW! Mind blown. Just looked up the Mongolian couscous ... I had always assumed - erroneously - that couscous was kind of bits of wheat. I had no idea that it's ROLLED. Wow. I am deeply impressed by that.

Mr Fab:

Hey Otis! You've said that 5% of any musical genre is good. I now throw the gauntlet down before you: DIVAS! Barbra, Whitney, Celine, Mariah, etc. You still willing to stand behind the 5% rule? Methinks I've stumped you!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

There's a lot you can do with Barbra! She had a very groovy phase :-) Played her a lot on LHT ;-)
Avatar 3:40pm
Otis Fodder:

Totally. Aretha is a DIVA, so is ELLA. Current diva Madonna has my vote too, still love Ray of Light. I know, I'm alone.

Mariah's first album is great imho too. Ha.

Avatar 3:59pm

Ha, is Lieutentant Pigeon related, maybe a brother in-law to the Seagull family? I have seen that pigeon in the trash bins in the back alley, he's a messy one.

I love Lieutanant Pigeon! Totally new here, new discovery!
Avatar 4:00pm
Mr Fab:

Yeah, covers of that "Moldy Old Dough" song are on lots of Moog/EZ albums
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

It's a strange thing about British DNA that at any large family gathering or function we are compelled to dance rhythmically while waving our arms in the air. "Mouldy Old Dough" fits the tempo perfectly. It's a hangover from "News Up Mother Brown" and those sorts of songs. :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:02pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

News Up?????? KNEES Up!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06pm
DJ GeorgyGirl:

Literally - you go to a family wedding in the UK and people start dancing and it looks like a Pathe news reel from the 40s. In the Underground while the bombs fall in the Blitz. The Swinging Sixties were a blip - we're all Cockneys at heart ;-)

I've been trying to stick to a daily routine more. And also all my little projects I time myself.. mini-deadlines I set a kitchen timer. Ok I got 30mins to get as far as I can on this thing... trying to get better at tracking long term projects I want to finish. That's the next step
Avatar 4:58pm

@Kat - Oh you lucky devil! Or should I say, your friend will be lucky. What a sweet gift!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00pm
Kat in Chicago:

I just ordered one with all the inserts :)
Avatar 5:00pm
Otis Fodder:

@MB - Big fan of the 'priority list' the past couple of years. Trained (socked myself a few times) to stop saying I don't have time and instead move things up or down in order of importance. Probably why I haven't made a song in months, last thing was for your show, before that a year. All about listening and radio these days.
  5:02pm
Martinibomb:

I figured out I can paint & listen to radio better than anything else.. so kill two birds with one stone. In fact the reason I love radio is because I dont have to decide what to play.. I can get alittle obsessed trying to find music while I should be working hahah better to just keep it on sheenas lol
Avatar 5:03pm
Otis Fodder:

@Kat - Yayyy! Love extras/inserts. The album is really great too, all solid jazz to percussion type tunes. The beat of the presses for sure.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:05pm

I am now starting to be more aware of how much doing another show is taking up in terms of time. In some ways, it's made me have to go through my collection more thoroughly, find things I didn't even remember that I had.
  5:13pm
Martinibomb:

I've never been hypnotized but I've read up and it does seem to be a thing tho maybe not to the extent of a Donald Bellisario TV production. I read you're more attentive/focused rather than sleepy which is how tv makes it look.
