Avatar 👻 3:26pm AnAnonymousParty:

I thought "We've Sobered Up" was one of Van Halen's recent efforts.

I’m getting more into the jazz vomitorium lately.
  3:30pm jmcg:

Your comment about jazz brunch reminded me of Elliott Sharp’s comment about acid jazz
“There isn’t enough acid or jazz for my taste”

"Some people don't get jazz. I have it delivered."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm Michael 98145:

webbing { The original title was "Come Softly," but was changed en route to its becoming a hit. Bob Reisdorf, the owner of Dolphin Records, which in 1960 changed to Dolton Records, was responsible for the title change. He thought that "Come Softly" might be too obvious and considered risqué, so he had it changed to "Come Softly to Me." }
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 3:37pm Phillippe Bastille:

@AAP there ya go
  3:38pm blujacket:

Avatar 4:41pm Kevin_Ringwood_ UK:

That new Moondog CD seems to be available to order by emailing info@moondogscorner.de. It’s €12 plus postage, according to www.moondogscorner.de...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:42pm Irwin:

Think they overdid the compression on this Ersahin track?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:43pm Irwin:

Kevin, save me some research (and embarrassing ignorance). Are these archival recordings or new recordings of unissued works?
Avatar 4:47pm Kevin_Ringwood_ UK:

Irwin, the website describes them as neue Stücke aus dem Moondog-Archiv, which my rusty schoolboy German tells me means new pieces from the Mondog archive. Looking at the musicians listed, Moondog himself appears on very few, so I’m guessing it’s a mixture of archive and new recordings
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:51pm Irwin:

Thanks much, Kev.
Avatar 4:54pm Kevin_Ringwood_ UK:

Pleased to help
  4:58pm Kudubundu:

Avatar 5:12pm Listening Out There:

Just got here. Garrison Keillor. Huh. The things I miss...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:13pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...well, how many women are here?...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:14pm Carmichael:

Nice poppy, jangly, rhythmy, moody, emo-ey.
Avatar 5:17pm Fredericks:

It was not Keillor, just Irwin with a lozenge.
  5:18pm David in London:

DB doing a lot of that ‘scrunched-up voice thing’ that was one of his vocal signatures there. Love it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Mick Ronson !

Avatar 5:51pm Listening Out There:

Did Felix Pappalardi (sp?) play keyboards for Cream in situations like this? Not sure who would do keyboards for them. I think Pappalardi produced...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm Irwin:

FP did play keys, esp. mellotron. Not sure who played on "Scrapyard." Check wiki or discogs, report back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm Carmichael:

Jack Bruce played piano on Scrapyard. Pappalardi played mellotron and produced.
Avatar 5:55pm Listening Out There:

Tip o' the hat to you both. :)
