This song made me fall in love with the Beatles as a very young child and made George my favorite Beatle, via repeated listens to the Yellow Submarine soundtrack - come to think of it, the first record I remember every playing all by myself on the family hifi.

This is such a peculiar album. It sounds like another band trying to sound like Pink Floyd to me - maybe them caught somewhere mid-transformation. I don't know what. Just my impression of it, having recently purchased this album for the first time.

I found out something that blew my mind this week. Didn't really relate to anything in the show tho. So Steve Marriott was best mates with Tony "Baldrick" Robinson - because they were in Oliver together in the West End as teens. Apparently, one day they bunked off rehearsals and went to Valentine Park in Ilford to smoke cigarettes. This was Steve old's childhood stomping. And THAT is Itchycoo Park. :-)
