Sophie Hunger, Swiss singer (almost mainstream over here in Germany) was born 1983, which explains the album title.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm Phillippe Bastille:

Hey Jocelyn! Did you survive Christmas?
  3:14pm Adrian in London:

Public Service Announcement: If you’re in the U.K. air can access the BBC iPlayer, the documentary about BROS When The Screaming Stops is utterly essential viewing. Seriously. Sibling rivalry, conkers, mental breakdowns, a bulldog holding a pint of beer, manscaping - it has it all.

Hello Adrian in London + Cecile + Sem + maestroso + the Oscar + Phillippe Bastille!

I'm stuck with Ramon Morris' instrumental version of "People Make The World Go Round" (maybe because it had been sampled so often).

Yeah, I'm trying to buy German iTunes tracks or even UK ones. It is ridiculous and impossible.

Avatar 3:49pm djsheilab:

Hey RRNov63!
  3:49pm Listener Robert:

Ms. B., did you consider the possibility that the mystery sound came from someone ELSE who ALSO had a large collection of records to move up or down the stairs?

I gather from above that you now have your moving help...but who's going to help you lug that portion of your collection back and forth every time you DJ here?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

I'ma link again to Cocaine & Rhinestones about Bobbie Gentry - so you can hear about the album they're really covering / interpreting - anybody don't know all about this stuff... :
Avatar 3:53pm djsheilab:

Listener Robert—HAHA! That would be very possible but at 4:30AM??!!! It's madness! Sadly, fine lookin' big burly moving men only with me on my moving day. Otherwise all the lugging is up to me! YIKES.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar 3:57pm djsheilab:

RRNov63—There was a great New Yorker cartoon about collecting vinyl a couple years back. Quite funny.

@Jocelyn: Moving my records/books cost me fortune to come . Full time/non-contract or non-freelance jobs in NYC are hard to come by in my field and my experience. (I think I know most of the people there that do what I do).

Is _Albatross_ the album, too, or is it a single?
  5:12pm Jocelyn:

I still have my y2k dress. And it still fits!

  5:36pm Jocelyn:

And it's such a delight to spend every Friday with you. I can't remember my Fridays before your show:
  5:37pm Gaylord Fields:

Just found out about Jerry Riopelle, and I missed the tribute portion of your show. Thank you for commemorating his life and music!
  5:37pm RomanDogBird:

Friday's have become such a highlight of the week because of this show. Looking forward to plenty more in 2019!

Hey Gaylord! Just blissing out to those five records of his was pure joy. I know how much you adore his writings + productions as well.

When you're gonna play another Riopelle set, I think I'm going down and listen the last 30 minutes of SBB in 2018 with my wife. Thanks for this year, Sheila, until 2019 and I wish everybody a great and healthy new year.

  5:42pm Gaylord Fields:

I really do, Sheila, as do you, of course! His Clydie King songs slay me every time! (And if someone had $200 lying around to get me that “Missin’ My Baby” I will name a child or cat after you.)
  5:43pm Jocelyn:

That goes for all of you too! I enjoy our Friday chats
  5:44pm Rick G:

Cheerful new year! Thanks for your show. I’m usually at work here on the West Coast but I make a point of listening for at least an hour. Greetings from Port Orchard WA.

2018 was better than the admittedly low bar that 2017 set. For that I’m super happy. It was also the year I discovered Sophisticated Boom Boom and that plays a big part in the goodness of the year. Thanks to Sheila B and Happy New Year to all!
