Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:07pm listener james from westwood:

Afternoon, Sheila and all!
Avatar 3:09pm djsheilab:

Hello Friday friends! A cold/flu has taken me over so I may sound a bit sniffly on the mic. But otherwise so happy to be here playing 45s only for you today!
  3:10pm lpcoverlover:

In love with the dreamy sweet soul of this Pat Stallworth mmmmmm!
Avatar 3:11pm djsheilab:

lpcoverlover—So dreamy!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14pm Rob Kopp:

Are you sure this isn't Barry Gibb?
Avatar 3:14pm djsheilab:

Thanks for your well wishes friends! I've been given my very own windscreen to protect all the other DJs from my contamination :)
Avatar 3:15pm djsheilab:

Rob Kopp—It is very much Barry Gibb. But 45 credits Samantha Sang, who is singing with him.
  3:15pm lpcoverlover:

Nice smooth pairing! like peanut butter and fluffernutter. or something. Anything from SNF immediately throws me back to that time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm frozen_peas:

I love your love of the bee gees, Sheila.
  3:16pm ColinM.:

I love this song.
Avatar 3:17pm The Contessa:

  3:18pm JakeGould:

Hey Sheila! Get well! And thanks for coming in and DJing!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:18pm tneeld:

One of the Turkish accounts I follow posted an Alan Parsons track they were listening to and I completely thought of SBB.
Avatar 3:19pm djsheilab:

tneeld—Ooh! I wonder if it's one I'll be playing today :)
Avatar 3:20pm Cecile:

Samantha Sang was always kind of superfluous on that track.
  3:20pm Cooh John:

Hello djsheilab and fellow sophisticates. Strapped in and ready to be revved up to 45 rpm's.
Avatar 3:20pm djsheilab:

The Contessa—Hurray!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:21pm The Oscar:

Maybe it's a trivia footnote-- as in, "Did you know Samantha Sang on that Barry Gibb single?"
  3:22pm Derek Bee:

Greetings, here for the snap crackle and pop.
  3:23pm Adrian in London:

@Cecile I answered your contact request so you should have my email address. Feel free to drop me a line.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:23pm tneeld:

For the record, it was Sirius. (I've honestly not listened to APP since I was a young teen and loved that Poe record, but this show might inspire me to revisit!)
Avatar 3:23pm Cecile:

Adrian! I am so sorry I haven't answered back. It's been a crazy couple of weeks. I hope to write to you this weekend.
Avatar 3:24pm Cecile:

  3:35pm Adrian in London:

When it comes to Brazilian politics, Isabel Monteiro, the singer of Drugstore, is back in Brazil and is definitely worth following for her take on what’s happening. I’ve heard her on The World Service
occasionally, bing interviewed.

Genevieve Waite and her boyfriend producer John Phillips (Mamas and Papas) were serious casualties of addiction so her inclusion in this set was singularly appropriate in view of your intro.

  5:24pm Adrian in London:

@TDK60 Hi. No, because I’m at work when wake is on and I’m editing words soI tend to listen to instrumental/drone stuff, music that’s not too distracting but distracting enough from the chatter in the office. I found I had to pay too much attention to Clay and it kept disrupting my concentration.
Avatar 5:24pm djsheilab:

LOVE your enthusiasm Kelly Jones!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24pm Rob Kopp:

The Orlons with a track that doesn't begin with the word Don't
Avatar 5:27pm TDK60:

Hello, Boom Patrol! I finally made it, steadily. Had to make another trip to the bike shop to finally get the correct passenger seat.
  5:30pm JasonInBoston:

It's that muddy Norfokk VA sound, courtesy of Frank Guida-This Samantha Lee 45 is very similar to "Thank Goodness Got a Good Woman" by Lenis Guess - also on Peanut Country. This is the same outfit that produced all those Gary US Bonds records. His techniques were so crude that he would do things like record the whole band in a hotel room put the drummer in a closet to control the sound.
  5:30pm lpcoverlover:

Oooh Kadhja! I'm a growing fan and can't wait for her show next month!
  5:34pm michaelz:
